Our room was not very clean. We had left our towels hanging, so did not expect them changed. The bathmat, however, was sopping wet and not changed. Our room was never swept (it is a beach property so hard to avoid sand) and the bathtub and bathroom counters were not washed during our 4 night stay, Upon checkout, they would not offer assistance getting our luggage to our car, which was about 100 yards uphill to the parking lot. The two servers at the pool bar and main bar were professional and welcoming.

Stayed at the Miramare Second week in April. Appreciate it was still early season, as such a few facilities weren’t open yet. Enjoyed; The breakfasts weee decent and a good choice. We had a suite with sea view and private pool. Enjoyed the pool, big enough at c4metres x 4metres in size, water obviously pretty cool (see below for other comments re room). The lounge area with the outside balcony is nice, as are the communal pool areas. Only a 15 stroll into the town and an east walk. Didn’t enjoy; I wouldn’t call it a suite as such, it was one bedroom with a small corridor leading to a very basic small room with a sofa bed in it. The small room with the sofa bed was like a prison room in its basic-ness, I expected some kind of sitting room as part of a suite. When we arrived there were 18 insects in the room (worm like centipedes) which I removed. During the week there was an average of 2 or 3 further worms, didn’t do any damage and I appreciate its difficult to avoid Mother Nature. Despite the above issues I would recommend the hotel but check what room type you are booking first.

Amazing location on the hill with beautiful views. The shower was very weird as the wand had no arm to set it on. As many hotels here they don’t want you flushing toilet paper. Had a great dinner pool side and good buffet breakfast with a great view. Pools are gorgeous.

Good location a 15 minute walk from the town centre and built “cascaded” down a hillside such that most rooms get an excellent sea view. Probably built in phases and some rooms now in need of updating. Very good buffet breakfast with wide choice of offerings.

The review covers the room option with the private pool during COVID-19 times. The sea view was excellent and beautiful; however, this was necessary to distract from the rest of the room with a tasteless "design" providing simply functional and aged furniture. Also the reception area and the dining area has a rather "aged" design. Breakfast quality was poor in terms of quality and variety but the restaurant manager was very keen to attend special food request (e.g. low fat yogurt) he arranged for the next day. The overall service level and staff friendliness leaves a lot of room for improvement - luckily with some exceptions.

Great hotel. All rooms have sea views. Staff excellent especially bar staff. Room could do with a refurbishment but was clean. Not a hotel If you have mobility problems though as on steep hill and lots of steps. Pools lovely

Hotel is lovely and has the most stunning views. Staff could not do enough for you especially Nikolas and Manolito. Was disappointed to leave. Will definitely return.

I liked the aspect i.e. overlooking the sea. The public spaces, particularly the toilets could have been cleaner. The food was fine but nothing special. Staff were freindly. Very noisy in the evenings - music from the theatre - until 11pm every night!!

Amazing views
Our first family stay in this hotel with two young children. Great location in the hotel as we were close to the playground and pool. The resort is on a side of a hill which makes steep but you are rewarded with spectacular views. There is carts to take you to your room ect. as it is difficult with prams as there is many steps. Staff are very courtios and helpful. I choose well and will definitely be back next visit to Crete. Specisl mention to Yianis and Manos in the Restaurant.

We stayed only one night in this hotel and arrive late and had rather cold reception. Location is absolutely gorgeous and views from its restaurant and room's balconies on the bay are spectacular. But we had to cary our suitcases to the third floor - hotel does not have elevators. From car parking to the hotel is quite a hike up - we saw that resort has electric carts running around, we asked at checkout to take to the parking lot and the answer was NO, we do not provide this service. Hence, we we a bit disappointed by the service of receptionists - atypical for very helpful personals in other hotels at Crete. The rest was very good.

A leisure resort and spa with all the facilities you would want for a lengthy stay, if you could afford it. The room was comfortable but we did not enjoy the three levels with the bed at the top. Breakfast options were vast. Limited self catering (a jug and a fridge) but excellent eating in the town (restaurants, bakeries, cafes, supermarkets). Agios Nikolaos was a beautiful seaside town to wander through. An enjoyable few days.

Stayed only a couple of days during a business trip at the end of a summer season. Positives The local people were generous and wonderful Beautiful layout, grounds and locality Food was to a high standard high level of cleanliness Cons WIFI was very poor, if you have need a good connection to the internet then I would suggest you find a different hotel. Mattress was a boulder with a sheet thrown over it. I will note that a colleague did not have the same problem Would I stay here again - YES

Beautiful views needs updating
The hotel is located on a hill side with beautiful views across the bay. It has lots of nice pools. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are in need of updating. The food was very basic nothing really exciting so we ate out most evenings. The town is a short walk from the hotel which has a variety of restaurants and bars. The local beach is a big disappointing however the pools are nice enough that you can stay at them. The gym was very dated and uncared for. Lots of the equipment was faulty and broken but we managed to make do. If the rooms were updated and a better gym installed this hotel would be outstanding.

Best thing about hotel is location, wsljsbme to a lovely beach and the resort town. Plus good swimming pools.however rooms were uncomfortable mainly due to loud air con making it impossible to sleep but also too got to sleep if turned off. We upgraded to all inclusive but meant you got cheap everything from watery soda to cheap wine. And for pretty average.

It was a great surprise to discover a gem! The amazing views of the endless Mediterranean Sea,the incredible pools,the fantastic spa,the delicious breakfast,and the live entertainment,and all that within walking distance of the town of Agios Nicholaos,where you can catch any ferry ride to explore little islands off the shore The photos are from our balcony and is the views of the close by beach of Almyros and the port of Agios Nicholaos

We paid for a private pool for 4 nights. The pool was good to have but - staff didn’t change our towels once in 4 days, didn’t clean our room once in 4 days. It’s a major resort and operated like a 2 star resort. Would never go again.

Resort on a hill with great views
Enjoyed a relaxing week at Miramare Resort & Spa, with three lovely swimming pools, close to a pebble beach and sandy beach. Walking distance into pretty Agios Nikoloas with lakeside restaurants and shops. We found the resort restaurant food very enjoyable with different dishes on the buffet each meal. One night we enjoyed a tasty five course dinner by the pool. It is a large resort with apartments spread over steep hills, although once you find the short cuts and lifts it is easier to get around. There are a lot of steps to keep you fit and work off the lovely food. On the disappointing side there is a lack of information about what is available and where at the resort, you need to ask the questions.

Hotel with an amazing view
The resort has an excellent location close to the vibrant town of Agios Nikolaos. The vista from the main restaurant and from the palm bar was absolutely stunning with uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains. One of the highlights of the resort was the friendly and helpful staff. We travelled with two young children and the staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, lunch options however were limited on some days. Although there were varied options for dinner each night. In particular a nice oriental themed dinner was very welcome. As vegetarians we found that the protein based vegetarian options a bit sparse hence we would recommend that lentils be considered in the menu. The pool in the room was real bonus we enjoyed cooling off after a long day trip. There was a number of little surprises like a beach ball and a lilo in our private pool. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

Lovely staff but an awful lot of steps
We loved this hotel - a little old-fashioned, but with an excellent buffet restaurant run by a masterly maitre d', and quirky accommodation. Our room had a great balcony with fantastic sea views, a very comfortable bed, good shower over a bath, and an efficient small fridge, which we were pleased about. Choice of three lovely pools, tennis court and table tennis. Live music in the bar at night. But a warning to those with mobility problems; the hotel ranges up the hillside and there are an awful lot of steps.

Lovely views but you need to be fit !
The views are amazing and the staff very helpful. We were very thankful we had emailed ahead and asked for a room on a low level as this hotel has an awful lot of steps. There is also an extremely steep slope to walk up to reception. Breakfast was excellent and we found lots of great places to eat in town

Hotel with superb views
Hotel was perfectly situated giving you wonderful views wherever you walked. Three lovely outdoor pools to choose from and a spa, which was good. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and extremely well organised, staff worked hard and kept everything well stocked and tables cleared. Room was clean, spacious with a wonderful view. I had a great stay.
