Basic but pretty good value

Pros: The blue lights in the shower room.
Cons: Being scolded by the staff at breakfast for sitting down at a table that hadn't been cleared.
Location: Quite central, and very convenient for public transport.
Location: a few minutes walk from Paddington station, and conveniently close to Hyde Park. Beware if stairs are not your thing, as the Rhodes has a lot of them, and no lift. Also, check to see if you're being put in the main hotel or the annex, which is round the corner. Overall, while it’s definitely a budget choice, I would certainly recommend this hotel for a short, no-frills stay in the capital.

Shabby place

Pros: The front desk was really polite. The hotel is very close to lancester gate station and 15 minute walk to oxford street.
Cons: The shabby and uncomfortable bed and furniture. İnternet access and breakfast is another point of dissapointment.
Location: Sussex gardens is a nice street with alot of hotels on both side of the street. lancester gate station was 2 minute walk from the hotel.
The room was really tiny and the quality of furniture was shabby and untasteful. I hated the carpets all over the place most of all. They looked dirty. The bed was so uncomfortable that when i sit on it it was creaking and i coud't have a good rest. Free internet access was another tricky situation. İ could only have access like 10 minutes and after that nothing for four days. I told the manager that i need to use internet to buy tickets and he said i could do that from their computer in the lobby. so i guess they are familiar with the situation. The brakafst room was really small didn't have any windows. i did not dare to taste anything.at that price there are really far more better places ,even at lower prices. iI wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

Proprietors are wonderful hosts

Great location near Hyde Park, two underground stations and the express train to Heathrow. Mr. and Mrs Crias, the proprietors of the hotel, were exceptional hosts. The staff was helpful in giving me recommendations for resturants and other directions. The hotel had both wireless and cat5 for internet. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern. I enjoyed the breakfast that was served. I look forward to staying at the Rhodes Hotel again in the future.

Handy and clean

Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Wierd wi-fi (although worked with my iphone so nit picking)
Location: 5 min to paddington, hyde park and close to Marble Arch as a result
Clean linen, comfortable bed, small but well equipped shower room. Free wi-fi (worked well miy phone but not lap top-bizarre but only let down). Outside the room dated decor but not totally run down. Didnt go for the breakfast so cant comment on that. £4 spent in coffee shop instead during the 5 min to St Marys (attending course). The highlight of the decor was the reproduction of Turners 'the fighting temeraire..' on the way up to the room. Everyone loves a trier!
