Overall functional hotel. Convenient location.

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Location; overall facilities
Cons: Room cleanliness, staff didn't log ALL shipped packages (but allowed me in the back to check); Room clean didn't refresh supplies; tub drain clogged
Location: Mall; many many shopping plazas
Location very convenient, shuttle is a nice touch. Overall OK stay. Many improvements needed (list later)

La Quints - Garden City NY

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Better TV package
Location: Good restaurants nearby and access to parks. It was a bit too cold to do much walking but we did enjoy the area for the couple of days we were visiti
The room was good and clean, the bed very comfortable. The number of TV channels was a bit disappointing with a large number of news and sports programs but not a lot of other choices. Breakfast was adequate. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Use another hotel!

Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Everything
Location: decent location close to a lot of differnt places but had to use what seemed to be major roads to get anywhere.
A friend and I stayed here recently and it was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel staff was not pleasant and the maids could not speak a word of english. The hotel is in terrible condition. We stayed here for an event that we went to at the Coliseum. When I first checked in the woman at the front desk told us we could use their shuttle service to get to the Coliseum that night, which she said would come whenever we requested. Which I thought was great. I went back down to request the shuttle (since the phones did not work in our room) she told me it didn't run during those times and the last one was leaving in a few minutes. I then asked for a local taxi which came on time but was way over priced! To go one mile they charged us $15 one way! The beds were comfortable I will give them that but I was hesitant staying in them, and the rooms didn't have a microwave or a refrigerator and to top it off the ice machine was broken so we couldn't keep things cold. This wasn't something that I thought I needed to ask about but apparently I should have. The breakfast the next morning looked edible but when we had a cup of coffee we decided to go elsewhere. I never throw out coffee and I did with this! GROSS. This hotel has a lot of potential if they updated it and at the same time updated the staff.

Close to everything

Posted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: Shuttle service, whirlpool, location.
Cons: n/a
Location: Museums, Coliseum, mall, gym, eateries.
This hotel is close to the highways, museum, Coliseum and mall. It's decently priced, has sizable rooms and a gym. It offers free breakfast, parking and wifi. In addition, there's a shuttle service that will bring you and pick you up within 3 miles of it. Oh and there's a pretty decent whirlpool too, so bring your bathing suit.

Almost great

Posted Dec 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
I booked a room for my husband and two daughters. There was only one washcloth in the bathroom. I called the front desk (housekeeping had left for the day) and was asked to go to the front desk but I could get only two more washcloths. It was a mild inconvenience and I should have asked that they try a little harder. A few more choices at breakfast would also have been great. Other than that, the hotel was fine for an overnight stay.
