Nicely renovated classic hotelPosted Jul 17, 2015
Beautiful hotel that, as I understand it, recently renovated. Lovely as you walk in with great staff that greet and help you. Room nicely updated, including bathroom; also clean and comfortable (I'd like the couch in sitting area in my home!). Lots of in-hotel dining options (patio bar especially cozy on a summer's night) as well as within walking distance (10-15m walk and you are in the Garden City Main Street area). Look forward to next stay.

Nice Hotel in beautiful Garden City!Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Nice location and top-notch facilities.
Cons: A little bit friendlier staff; the waiter was nice; the bartender not so much.
The hotel accommodations were top quality; I dined in the Polo Steakhouse and the food was great and the service was good. I wasn't a fan of the bartender in the Polo Lounge, however--he was more interested in getting the bill paid than he was in serving customers.

great location, but.....Posted Jul 13, 2015
Cons: Staff training
Staff graduated from the bada-bing school of mgmt. Pool are not cleaned. Yuck. room nice. Great location. Too bad, potential to be really nice, but left a super bad taste in my mouth.

Ok but overpricedPosted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: I was attending a 50th year high school reunion so the room held in was fine and large enough.
Cons: The lighting in the room. Also the full length mirror in the room was loose and propped against the wall?? Did not get a bill at check out??
Location: It was raining during my stay but did not look like there was much to do close by.
I think for the area this hotel is way overpriced at $269/night. The rooms were fine but found my too dark or not enough light. The room is lit with just lamps so in the evening it is not bright enough.

Pros: Upscale, classy and very, very clean!
Cons: $5 for a bottle of water...I thought that was a bit much.
Staff was great...they were able to accommodate us with late check in and late check out.

A hotel gem on Long IslandPosted Mar 23, 2015 on Hotels
1 night 'daycation' with family. Certainly, this is the best hotel on Long Island if you prefer big-city opulent surroundings. The whole hotel has been renovated well; some minor fit/finish issues (bath-door) gets stuck in its frame. Did not use on-site dining but I hear the new Polo Steakhouse is great for dinner. Their brunch is fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel for any occasion.
