My husband, our two dogs and I spent Memorial Day weekend here and we had a great time. The apartment is private, cozy and quiet. You have everything you need to cook and be comfortable. The hot tub was nice to relax in under the stars and you can see the water from the deck. Geno is very cool, friendly, laid back and quick to reply if you need him. Private driveway to park in. You can walk to almost anything in town within a few minutes and with relative ease. We felt totally comfortable and relaxed here and look forward to staying at Geno’s property again!
Lubec has such a unique feel to it, almost like being transported back in time. It feels different than the rest of coastal Maine, more genuine and authentic. Most of our stay we felt like we had the entire town to ourselves when walking our dogs around the neighborhoods. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. Restaurants were busy and bustling, but you rarely passed by another vehicle on the roads. Tons of old, beautiful homes. I walked around looking at most of them in awe, wishing I could go inside and explore them all. The area feels rich with history.
There are still church bells that play out a full song (still wondering what the song was) a few times a day. There’s also an adorable husky/malamute looking dog at a house down the street that howls along with the church bells! It’s really unlike anyplace else. We will be back!
