The front desk staff was very rude and not accommodating whatsoever. Our room # was in the 200’s When we complained that the 2nd floor smelled very strongly of marijuana and asked if we could switch floors, the clerk didn’t apologize or kindly reply she’d be happy to help. Instead she just kept telling us not to go in the room (which we hadn’t) then said “oh so you’re complaining cause you smelled it in the hall? Well I put you on the other end.” As if she already knew about the marijuana situation…but also I walked the entire hall & it was overwhelming with weed odor everywhere. I asked if we could have another room on another floor and she rudely said she didn’t have any. I said that’s fine we could just cancel and she said “you can’t, you’ve already checked in.” I said “well I thought this was a no smoking hotel (pot included)” and so if they didn’t have another room we’d need to cancel, but again she said we couldn’t. She typed on the computer for a couple minutes then mysteriously handed us a room key to the 3rd floor. I thought she didn’t have any other rooms available??!! At this point, I didn’t feel safe staying all night there with our daughter and promptly asked Expedia to help us cancel for a refund. We immediately left the hotel. But unfortunately, the manager refused to issue a refund! For a weed hotel! Frustrating too because we just needed a clean, quiet night to stay on our way home from a wedding. Common courtesy goes a long way. Disappointed in Marriott.
