Perfect location, roomy and clean.
I would definitely come back and stay. Coffee was provided along with a bottle of wine to welcome us. We should have offered to share the wine so we could have had her personal recommendations and info about places to eat and things to see. Mary Helen seemed very nice and personable. I think her family has quite a history with the town.

Charming getaway!
We had a lovely vacation in historic Mesilla! Casita Azul was the perfect size and set up for us and our chihuahua. The traditional casita captures the wonderful character of the community and we took advantage of the perfect location by walking each day to the plaza, shops, and restaurants. We enjoyed the porch and patio, which provided a private and quiet space to relax. The weather was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the locals were very friendly. Most importantly our host, Mary Helen, was welcoming, helpful, and made sure we were comfortable.😊

Would not hesitate to stay again
Was in town for the Bataan Death March and this place was perfect. Host is on property, but is very respectful of your privacy. Everything is as described in the listing. It’s steps away from the historic plaza and shops. The shower was a little tricky to figure out but once done worked great. Will try and book this property again next year.

Always A Delight

Quaint and quiet
We loved staying in a home with so much history in a town with so much history. We were able to come and go as needed. The hosts made sure we were able to find our way and get in since our flights were delayed and we arrived. Around midnight. We made trips to White Sands National Park. ITT was a very convenient location.

Historical place with marvelous artwork. Right in the heart of old Mesilla. Clean, charming, comfortable, just as advertised. The washer/ dryer were convenient. Great locale for visiting area sights. Perfect for us.

Our Sexond Visit!
We liked this property so much, we booked it for a second time. We stayed here in May 2022. The casita is cozy and well appointed. The location is great. The plaza was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The shops on the plaza are around the corner. There are great restaurants on the plaza and a few blocks off the plaza- so convenient!

Memorable visit
My husband & I stayed 4 nights with our little dog. Everything exceeded our expectations. The host is a pleasure to communicate with. We enjoyed the convenience of walking to the great restaurants in the plaza, which is a a couple hundred feet away. Our dog gives it 5 paws.

Authentic Stay
Casita Azul is beautiful, and truly a very special place. The Vigas were my favorite, and my son loved the magical decor. He said he felt so ‘comfy’. The house was spotlessly clean, 100% supplied with everything you would need. I would definitely return, and will never forget sitting in the courtyard patio drinking coffee and hearing the cathedral chime.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Azul. The location is perfect as is the house itself. We had our little dog with us and he enjoyed running around in the court yard. Mary Helen is a lovely host. We will certainly be back.

This Casita was exactly as listed: spacious, private, well furnished with full size pillows on a great king size bed. There was plenty of towels, amenities, and tourist information. It was a perfect location ~ walking distance for restaurants and shopping and easy drives for hiking in the area. Mary Helen was a great host and responded quickly. Best location in Las Cruces
The host was exceptionally hospitable and helpful. I love Las Cruces with its small city vibe, great restaurants and being near the Organ Mountains. If you go to Las Cruces be sure to go to Dripping Springs Natural Area. The 1.5 mile walk at Dripping Springs is scenic and unforgettable. The VRBO is very close to Mesilla Plaza which is a historical area surrounded by shops and restaurants.

Gem in Old Mesilla
My wife and I absolutely loved this beautiful, historic and tastefully decorated casita. It was a short walk to the town square that was filled with shops, restaurants and very friendly locals who were happy to answer any questions you might have about the surrounding area and its history. Our host, Mary Helen was great! 5 stars!

Delightful 2 weeks
My husband and I spent 4 nights at Casita Azul in June, and came back again for a 2 week mini snowbirding trip. The location is perfect, the accommodations lovely and comfortable, and Mary Helen is a wonderful, gracious hostess. Couldn't ask for anything more. We plan to be back, it's just a matter of when!

An extremely well located, quaint and roomy guesthouse. It is well equipped, and perfect for anyone who wants to cook a few meals here-and-there in addition to walking a minute or two into town to enjoy any of the diverse restaurants in the area.

Outstanding!
My wife and I stayed here for four nights as our daughter was graduating from NMSU. Although it was in the heart of Old Mesilla, it was also conveniently less than a ten minute drive to the university. The photos don’t do this property justice. It is incredibly unique, rustic and has everything a person needs. Mary Helen is an excellent host. Highly recommended.

A Great Visit to Mesilla
The Casita Azul is a terrific place to stay, just off the Mesilla Plaza. It is clean, well laid out and well appointed. I was able to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the small but functional kitchen. The bed was comfortable, TV worked well with many music and channel choices, etc. I really can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay.

Hidden Gem
Casita Azul on the Mesilla Plaza is a great place to stay. Bright and well-decorated inside and a sunny outside sitting area. We stayed for 2 weeks in November and savored every day exploring Mesilla, Las Cruces, Ruidoso, White Sands & the Chihuahuan Desert. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

THE BEST MESILLA ACCOMMODATIONS!
We absolutely love this property. The location is steps to the town square and St Albinos Basillica. The renovated building is historic mud adobe and the furnishings and art have true New Mexico character. This is our second stay and we hope to return again in the spring.

Wonderful Place to Unwind!
One of the rare places where we enjoyed staying in just as much as exploring the surrounding area. We enjoyed being right in the historic Mesilla plaza and loved taking our dog for walks and seeing the adobe homes in the area. The casita was super clean and comfortable with everything needed to stay in and cook meals if desired. We love to travel with our dog and the fenced in private patio plus the larger enclosed courtyard were perfect! The casita was very comfortable and a perfect place to just hang out and relax!

Casita Azul deserves more than the allowable five stars. For me location is always key and Casita Azul is steps from Mesilla Plaza. Lovely and relaxing oasis
This is a charming, clean and comfortable property that emanates history. It is located steps from the Plaza yet offers a quiet respite from the buzz of nearby shops and restaurants. Parking is easy in the private lot. The casita has all the amenities one could hope for: a full kitchen with plates, utensils and cookware; a comfortable living room; two beds with room for privacy; a washer and dryer; a nice shower and tub; and a beautiful little veranda to sip your coffee in the morning or enjoy a glass of wine at night. The rooms capture the light in a magical way throughout the day and the distant sound of church bells offer a sense of the spiritual. I highly recommend staying here if you can! Mary Helen is a gracious host who clearly takes pride in offering guests a rewarding experience. .

Perfect!
I took a solo trip for my birthday and selected Casa Azul based on the pictures and reviews. It was even better than I expected! Mary Helen does an amazing job making sure you feel welcomed and comfortable. She even left a bottle of local wine! I highly recommend this property.

Mesilla Hidden Gem!
Where to begin... we have so many good things to say about this wonderful historic casita. The pictures and description just do not do it justice and by far exceeded our expectations. Casita Azul is a quaint, quiet, clean, wonderfully appointed home away from home. The location in the heart of Mesilla plaza was perfect and allowed us to walk to shops and restaurants very easily. From the moment we booked and even after we left the host, Mary Helen, was so welcoming and wonderful. We actually even left something behind and Mary Helen contacted us about it and offered to mail it to us. Now that is hospitality. We definitely will be back. Thank you for everything!

We wanted an authentic adobe to relax in after selling our home. Casita Azul was wonderful. The hostess, Mary Helen was very helpful. The casita was comfortable and convenient to everything. Thank you, Mary Helen!

Lovely Casita, lovely Mesilla
Really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was located ideally, just off the village square. Lovely little back patio. Hope to come back again!

The perfect place to stay in Mesilla.
Looking at the rentals in the area, this was the place I wanted to stay. It was booked up for the original dates I had planned on but I adjusted them for Casa Azul's availability and it worked out great. A perfect place and a perfect location. It's a real taste of Mesilla.
