Hidden Gem in South West England

Pros: Facilities and value.
Cons: The small convenience store could stay open later.
Location: Near the RHS garden Rosemoor. Well worth a day's visit.
The hotel was more of a North American condo with a huge living-kitchen area, large bedroom and bath. Patio looked upon a huge yard with peacocks strutting their stuff. We should have stayed more than one night.

Nice place for a short break

Stopped over on way to visit my brother .Delighted with Lodge which was spacious , spotless and well appointed .We are in the restaurant .The food was good and the service was friendly .Free wifi would have made our stay even better !

Confused identity

They primarily operate as time share lodges, with a few hotel rooms to top up with. The room is great, has a fridge, some cutlery etc. The leisure facilities are £70 a week per room/lodge, but only offer a standard gym less than complimentary. WiFi is a must with no mobile signal, but it's £27.90 for a week per device and a very weak signal it got thumbs down from us. We piggy backed on the equally weak signal from their restaurant or waited till we were out for the day to pick up email etc. Back to the room, which was lovely, with a large bathroom, a powerful shower over the bath, and toiletries for the first day. We had to ask for more which seemed a strange request for them with their lodge mentality. But they did it. At night it was wonderfully quiet, the beds (2 singles fixed together to make a King size) was extremely comfortable.

Great response when things went wrong

The apartment that we stayed in was perfect, however, we had booked lodge so were a little shocked when we were put in an apartment. We could not complain as the apartments were at a high standard. The hotel responded extremely well when there was a problem with the room, and gave an appropriate compensation based upon this. The manager Andy was extremely impressive.

Lovely relaxing stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodbridge hotel very relaxing we visited a few of local places although you do need transport to get around ,highly recommended.

Good value for money

Pros: We like the freedom of self-catering holidays, but it was great to have the facilities of a hotel alongside this.
Cons: Carpet a bit tired - scrapping the barrel really!
Location: You do need transport as nothing walkable. The coast at Hartland Quay is stunning and worth a visit.
We stayed in a 2 bed, self-catering house with balcony. There were 2 bathrooms (not mentioned in blurb, so pleasing). It was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was well equipped, and we had supplies of necessaries, e.g. dish washer tablets, which is good when self-catering. The grounds were pleasant and we had good views as we were at the top of the site (sits on a hillside). We had included use of the pool and gym, although I believe this is not the case if you booked after we did, which is a shame for those coming after us. The pool and gym were pleasant and clean. We ate in the restaurant twice, and it was enjoyable and good value for money. The staff were great and could not have been more helpful. Having three very little peacock chicks roaming around was an added bonus. We would definitely consider staying again.

Excellent value for money

Pros: Its quality, it's width of provision and the relaxing ambience assisted by a most helpful staff.
Cons: The ability of one of the girls on reception to give directions from Holsworthy
Location: Not applicable
Stayed for one night as spending the week with family and pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation. We enjoyed two meals and would compliment the hotel on the overall quality of the food provided.

Nice quiet hotel in the countryside

Location: Quiet hotel in the countryside within easy reach of popular coastal resorts.
Excellent hotel. Restaurant and bar facilities also excellent. Very good value for money.
