Descent place to stay

I arrived mid week and stayed for two nights the hotel staff were all very nice and cordial they all were eager to ask you if everything was alright and if you needed anything I ate the complimentary breakfast both mornings before heading out to take care of my business and I was surprised at how much they offered as well as it was always fresh with fruits and practically anything one could desire and the staff was always checking to see if it was fresh and full so I would definitely use the hotel again if the need were to arise two thumbs up on an uneventful stay with some much needed rest after a long commute thanks holiday inn express will be in touch if the need arises!

Peaceful & Pleasant Stay

We stayed at this hotel for the 1st week of July to Vacation and visit family . The rooms were clean and comfortable enough . Nice little pool area with a few patio tables and chairs & lounge chairs . Friendly staff . This place was peaceful and pleasant for our stay .

My fiance' and I had a lovely stay while visiting the area and attending a graduation. Many restaurants in the area and plenty of shopping to do as well....and Summerville is only about a 15min drive away with plenty of more shopping available and a huge movie theater. Friendly staff, and nice breakfast each morning and the location is in a quite setting, which to us is a huge plus!!

Filthy Carpets

The Hotel carpet, which is dark green, left my son's feet black with filth. I should have suspected a problem at check in as another guest was at the desk complaining that his non-smoking room smelled of smoke. My room smelled musty on entry and after we had been there for an hour my son's feet had turned black from walking on the carpet. When I pulled back the sheets there seemed to some small bits of grass in them. We were switched to another room which smelled better and had cleaner looking sheets, but the carpet there was also filthy. The Manager was supposed to call me yesterday, but has not called yet. On a positive note, the staff was very helpful. We were staying in the "annex" a separate building from the main one, and the hotel maids went out of their way to be helpful when I asked about a razor. One left her work and went to the other building to fetch me one. If you stay in the annex please note, there is no elevator.

Beds hard, walls dirty, rug dirty, chair dirty, grout in shower needs to be done correctly, toilets sit to low to the floor, Will not be staying there again until they do some improvements!!!!

Hard to find location

Our room smelled like a smoker was there before we were. Halls also smelled. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was typical and that was all we expected so it was ok. We did eat at Gilligans which they suggested and it was great!

Really exceptional service

We could not fault this hotel. The staff were so kind and friendly that we felt at home immediately. The room was spotless and comfortable and the free breakfast was different each day, and there was plenty of it! It was an great base to explore Charleston - about 30 mins to mid town - and the surrounding area. There were plenty of local places to eat, and overall it was an excellent start to our holiday.

Surprise

We stayed for two nights at this hotel with our disabled daughter. We arrived at the hotel at check in with our daughter in her wheelchair. The women was very nice at the desk and told us we had a second floor room. We then went to get settled in and could not find an elevator. We went back to the front desk and asked and we were then informed they do no have an elevator. They also could not move us to the first floor. We had to carry our daughter and wheelchair up the stairs. The next day we did move down stairs thank goodness, but they should at least post that they are a two story hotel with no elevator. It is a newer looking building, no reason to think they would not have an elevator.
