Attractive hotel in town
This is a very attractive hotel in a lovely setting, in the town of Montreuil-Bellay. The facilities are very good, but a restaurant for evening would be a definite bonus. However, the hotel is only a few steps from restaurants. Excellent breakfast.The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our visit.

Great hotel beautiful location
We have stayed here three times now for one or two nights en route to Italy. Lovely hotel - should be rated as four star. Beautiful location over looking the chateau. Great pool and breakfast.

Nice hotel, lovely town
We booked this hotel at short notice due to a change of plan and didn't know anything about Montreuil-Bellay before this visit. The hotel was nice (some strange combinations of décor in the bedroom), the staff were very pleasant and helpful to us and the hotel building and its surroundings were beautiful. Lovely to enjoy a drink on the hotel terrace overlooked by the town's chateau. Short walks to every building of interest in the town.

Having stayed here before ,albeit several years ago, we were rather disappointed. The room decor seemed dated, the shower assembly was broken and we were disturbed by noise from the adjacent room. Location in the town was excellent and breakfast good.

Great base for an active holiday
We used the hotel as a base for cycling. For this it was a great choice, surrounded by good quality, quiet local roads that connected us to Chinon etc without traffic. On our return the large and well maintained pool was perfect In the evening the local restaurants offered enough variety for a few days, but if staying more than a week I suggest that you should be prepared to drive a little

Quiet hotel ideal for the Loire wine area.
The hotel was quiet and peaceful with helpful staff. The hotel was spotlessly clean and provided a splendid buffet breakfast.

Lovely pool
The pool and main building are very attractive; breakfast was good. Annex room a little run-down and dated and suffered from noise from the adjacent gravel car park; it was impossible avoid this as the window had to be open due to the lack of air conditioning.

Great hotel in an unbeatable location
Superbly located hotel with excellent facilities in this compact Loire château town. The pool, sauna, jacuzzi, snooker and fitness room are all well maintained and justify the slightly higher price. I can only comment on the Deluxe room which was large and comfortable with a superb bathroom but otherwise not much else except a fantastic view of the Château de Montreuil-Bellay. The breakfast was very good by French hotel standards and, at £6 each, outstanding value for money! All the staff we met were delightful and helpful and the WiFi, although a bit variable generally worked as well as many other hotels I have used. The only minor issue, which applies equally to any and all hotels in Montreuil-Bellay, is the church bells which chime throughout the night on the half hour - you pay for that fantastic view with sleep as well as Euros...but it's worth it!

Beautiful hotel and location. Friendly helpful staff made us feel welcome. No restaurant but a number of places to eat in village. Although adequate the bathrooms are in need of an update to match the overall quality of the hotel and stunning location.

Disappointing stay in a beautiful building and are
Very basic room, small and with sparse facilities. Hair dryer in room, but mirror in bathroom. 3 star hotel, but not even drink making facilities available. Bed reasonably comfortable, though mattress protector made me sweat. Pillows very thin and only one each - had to bolster them with folded towels. Could find only one useable power point in the room and that had a 3 point adapter. Had to unplug the TV when I needed the hair dryer. Staff very helpful and always available. The hotel was based in a 17th century manor house and it had retained a lot of it's charm and character.

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and have always enjoyed the experience. It is limited in that it has no restaurant and the town is restricted in what it has to offer. The location is convenient for the Loire region and staff are always helpful hence this is the fifth time I have stayed there.

over promise under achieve
beautiful building so why make the rooms so horrible very small room with a very dated bathroom I guess they save the best rooms for the full paying guest bathroom was very dated and needed attention room had been cut in 2 from its previous size which made it to small and also spoilt the overall look and feeling that we should have got whilst climbing the stairs in a very nice annex internet was rubbish with the need to reconnect every 5 mins when I asked about it at reception I got sorry I don't understand ??? funny how she understood everything else all in all I wouldn't stay in that room again

Convenient to visit places. of interest in the Loire Valley. A good restuarant close by convenient stay over for further journey to Bordeaux area. Chateau is very interesting and has some good wines on sale.

Stayed here before some years ago, lovely little town but very quiet out of season. Reasonable room with a great view. Brilliant broadband, very helpful and friendly staff. Only one restuarant open for our evening meal (La barbican) but it was excellent and great value.

Magnifique cadre, mais seule la qualité architecturale du bâtiment justifie les 3 étoiles. Chambre étroite, vieillotte, meubles abimés, entretien pas très net. Accueil froid. Pas apprécié que la publicité montre une belle piscine, mais qu'il faille payer l'accès au SPA pour pouvoir bénéficier de la piscine. Bruyant (personnel qui termine tard et parle fort dans la cour, arrivée d'un car de touristes en plein milieu de la nuit, déambulations très bruyantes dans la cour...)

Je ne peux que regretter que vous ne nous ayez pas fait part de vos remarques, nous aurions pu immédiatement vous certifier que la piscine vous était tout à fait accessible, et ce, à tout les clients de l'hôtel et sans supplément. Nous avons conscience de la restauration nécessaire dans notre annexe, ancien Relais de Poste du XIIème siècle. C'est pour cette raison que les chambres de ce bâtiment ne seront plus proposées en 2018. Merci pour vos observations intéressantes. N. THIBAULT, Directrice

Un séjour plutôt sympathique, grâce au personnel au petit soin, et au SPA, passé l'odeur de vieille poussière et d'humidité dans la chambre, puis la culture de champignons et moisissures des joints de la douche des années 70. Bon on leur pardonne!

C'était la première fois que j'utilisais votre site. C'est le prix 64€ la chambre qui m'a intéressé. Par contre comme sur tous les sites il manque un mémo pour bien exploiter toutes les facilités que votre site propose. Exemple comment s'abonner de façon à obtenir des nuitées gratuites.

Hotel trés stylé à l'exterieur, mais nous étions dans le bâtiment à côté, pas de clim, serviettes tres usagées et très peu de savon dans la salle de bain. La wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Le seul plus était la piscine.

Excellent rapport qualité / prix. Toutefois, l'absence d'ascenseur pose des problèmes pour les voyageurs lourdement chargés logés dans les étages! Par ailleurs un petit coup de fraîcheur sur la déco et le mobilier des chambres serait le bienvenu.

2nuits. Très bel extérieur au pied du château, nuit très silencieuse. Chambre mal éclairée, couleurs,sombres et tristes, couloirs très mal éclairés et papier mural en mauvais état. Salle de douche convenable, propre mais pas de place pour le nécessaire de toilette. Petit déjeuner pas à la hauteur du prix : "confiture" industrielle en mini-barquette, pain grillé immangeable; salade fruits sortie directement d'une boîte de conserve.

C'est par hasard que j'ai choisi cet hôtel et je m'en félicite, tant le cadre (vue superbe sur le château) que l'accueil chaleureux, la disponibilité du personnel, la piscine chauffée m'ont donné l'impression d'être chez des amis et non dans un établissement impersonnel. Allez-y!
