Nice hotel in a central locationPosted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: A very good location, within walking distance to everywhere of interest.
Location: Nice restaurant on the same street, shops near by and within walking distant to Cnetral Park and Times Square.
Staff were very helpful. We arrived at 9.00 in the morning and the hotel was kind enough to let us check in. It was helpful as we were rather jet lagged.

A decent price for a great location.Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Perfectly adequate and very close to MoMA and Central Park.
Cons: The room's decor and lighting were not to my taste, but you might like them. The fully-mirrored shower is not for the faint of heart.
Location: So close to MoMA! I walked as far south as 42nd Street and as far north as the Guggenheim. (I was tired.)
The room was spacious, for Manhattan, and impeccably clean. There was a little shabbiness around the edges, and there was no point opening the window blind, but you probably didn't come to Manhattan to hang around the hotel room. There was only one serious failure in the service. I wanted to leave a tip for the maid and needed smaller bills. The front desk would not make change for me and sent me to the bar. The bar also refused to make change. I returned to the front desk to complain, and they just said I should try a bodega. Fortunately the nice kids at the juice shop down the block were willing to help me out.

Well placed and stylish hotelPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: On a quieter street than the main avenues with good facilities both in the hotel and nearby.
Cons: Our room was near an air conditioning unit which could be heard outside, not very loud but noticable. Also the bathtub in the room was a little small.
Location: Restaurants/Diners, MoMA on the next block and the 'Love' sculpture at the end of the street (great for photos if you are on honeymoon!)
This hotel is well placed within walking distance of Central Park, Times Square and the Museum of Modern Art. A very stylish hotel with a good bar and other facilities. The bed in our room was enourmous and very comfortable. A TV in the main suite and also in the bedroom as well as a digital radio. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and were able to book a car to collect and drop us off at JFK.

Non-chain hotel close to 5th ave and Central ParkPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: We love that it isn't a big chain. The staff, decor and location
Location: Central Park, 5th Ave shopping, Times Square, F train stop around the corner
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Shoreham. Since we now have a child, we got a Jr. Suite. It was very spacious by New York standards and the separate room (with a door) made it nice at nap time - I could watch tv and enjoy the massage chair while the little one slept. The bathroom was typically very small but nice (crowded to bathe a child but not impossible). When we arrived, our room door wouldn't close completely, but maintenance came immediately and fixed it. We love the proximity to Central Park and other midtown attractions.

Nice location, but need to be cleanerPosted Jul 1, 2014
This is very decently located hotel, close to Times Square and Central Park. Facility wise this is not a very good hotel. Full size bed was not comfortable at all, it was sagging. Had booked a junior suite, but sofa bed was not enough for 2 kids. They did not provide comforter for sofa bed, when requested, whatever came was not good. Will not recommend to a friend.
