Barn Conversion
I stayed here with my Son, Daughter in law and 2 Daughters, and 3 Grandchildren, the barn Conversion was absolutely fabulous, it had everything you needed and it was so spacious, The kitchen erea outside with a separate games room was fantastic, we spent all our time outside. Michelle and Mark our hosts were lovely i asked if they could arrange some decorations for my Daughters 50th birthday as a surprise and they were beautiful also had a bottle of Prosecco chilling too. The welcome pack was fantastic. The only problem for me was the glass coffee table in the sitting room my Grandson was keep bumping into it so we had to remove it out of there and also the dinning erea glass table i think both tables need some sort of protection on the corners where children are. The hotrub was a great size and views from hottub were spectacular. We all had a fabulous time. Thank you Michelle and Mark for being lovely hosts.

Outstanding - way too much to enjoy to sum up in 1500 words!!
I live in Cumbria. This properties location means it experiences very similar weather to what I'm used to. This is the only holiday property I've ever visited where so much thought has been put into the design of both the inside AND outdoor space so that no matter what the weather you are able to enjoy all the facilities all the time. Not the easiest place to find, even following the excellent directions, there were occasions towards the end of the arrival trip that we thought we'd gone wrong... just when you think you've turned into a final blind narrow alley there appear some heavy black gates which open automatically, allowing access to... well... I might aswell say it... a PERFECT oasis... A beautiful barn conversion, with a great layout. The gorgeous cellar/kitchen. The lovely open lounge area with a stunning - how to describe it?... television doesn't really do it justice... lets call it a Bang and Olufsen audio visual sculpture 😄 Great orangery/dining room leading out to the main outside space with kennelling for visiting dogs - the great part of that is that dogs brought by holidaymakers have virtual free range of the house, the kennels are there to cater for gun dogs/working dogs who would prefer to sleep outside the house. Theres an outdoor sauna, a covered spa with an outside TV. There's also an open air shower... To the front of the property is a large open air covered kitchen and games room. Absolutely 1st Class, reasonably priced too!!

Really enjoyed our stay. Spacious, clean, lovely location and property. The welcome hamper was amazing. The host were always quick to respond to any queries. Glad we had a chat with the maintenance person for the hot tub so we could make best use of it. Would have liked a few more cleaning products ie cleaning spray and bin liners.

Lovely house, The listing is not very clear as it’s hard to spot certain information. Was not that clear that the kitchen is located at the bottom of a steep spiral staircase & the dinning room is at the other end of the house. The kitchen is FULL of equipment like blenders etc that do not work. the “state of the art” equipment like the toaster &coffee machine are fiddly and not easy to use as quite old. There was no room to put any of the dry food we brought with us as the rest of the kitchen cupboards were full of cassette tapes, DVDs, VHS tapes & books that are probably not needed since there is sky in every room with Netflix available. not clear that the main bedroom has a waterbed and should be more clear in the bedroom description. there was no spare bedding or pillows provided. The bedroom with the bunk beds is nice & having all the stuffed toys is a nice idea but it does seem a little unhygienic. The listing states a washer dryer is available - but the on button was labelled with “do not touch” so we couldn’t use that. It would be useful to know that there was no cleaning products supplied with the exception of dishwasher tablets which were provided. A sweeping brush or vacuum cleaner would be useful in case there are any spills.The general cleanliness was poor when we arrived including dirty oven trays and crockery. The outside space is lovely and the facilities outside are great. any issues we had during the stay were quickly resolved.

Perfect privacy
I chose Winnie cottage as Winnie was name of my late friend and thought she would guide me to the right spot and she certainly did just that ! I wanted something private after not interacting for a long term period and this was perfect the whole property is secluded with awesome views plenty outdoor space to roam around,well equipped for catering and plenty toys for kids, the only things I’d of changed for our particular party is living area glass coffee table just for the toddler and mayb something around pond and sand the edging of fire pit seat which is a little rough on bare legs,, we hit great with weather so if mark and Michelle looking for any ideas a sail or umbrella for bit shade for hot days and maybe couple more loungers seats facing into the sun. these things were all very minor points and our view as a family but on a whole property is beautiful in a beautiful location and something to be proud of and iam sure in coming years it will only keep improving 😊 and thank you for the gift on arrival 🤗

Lovely house...outside was brilliant!!!
The house was lovely...it looks bigger on the pictures. There are alot of steps and the stairs going down to the kitchen could do with a handrail. Had to wash the cutlery before we could use it (perhaps some wash cloths and teatowels and a spare black bag??) but the kitchen was amazing. Fantastic that Sky was available in every room-great for everyone. The bathrooms were fantastic (perhaps a spare loo roll would be good).The garden facilities-the hot tub was the best I have been in, love the trampoline in the ground-the little one loved it and it felt safe. The garden is totally enclosed so fantastic for children and the dog. A few small things-we had to clean the Japanese grill before we could use it and the heating plate was too dirty so we didn’t use it. We appreciate it is outside but there were mouse droppings in the cupboards and the bin bag hadn't been emptied from the last guests. These are probably things the owners weren't aware of but hopefully they can be rectified because all in all the property is fantastic.

A winter stay at Winnie Cottage
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Winnie cottage. The owners of the property were in touch with us prior to our stay which made checking in and accessing the property straight forward. The cottage was very clean and provided everything we needed, including a lovely welcome basket filled with treats. We cooked a lot in the lovely kitchen and found all the utensils we needed. The outdoor space is huge and we made good of use of it even though it was snowing! The hot tub was fabulous and we all wrapped up and used the outdoor cooking space and games room. We can’t wait to come back in the summer for another long weekend at Winnie cottage! Thanks for having us!

Perfect property for the family
We traveled with my sister and family including two teenagers and two dogs. It was perfect. We could all be together or find some space. Lots of activities at the property to entertain, miles of public footpaths for the dogs and beautiful countryside and places of interest. Our hosts were excellent communicators throughout and left the best box of treats ( waistline expanded). Better than we hoped, was a privilege to stay.

We had a lovely stay & the cottage has all amenities that you require. A little shabby in some area’s and in need of some TLC. We had to clean some cooking areas, pans, cutlery etc before we could use them as they was dirty & greasy, bedroom patio doors do not open & patio/hot tub area are tiresome & full of cobwebs/overgrown brambles. The trampoline needs a serious looking at as my little niece hurt her back as it has not been dug out deep enough underneath it & you hit concrete or hard ground, also it is only two feet away from a stone wall… serious accident waiting to happen.

This is a high end property, lots of space and technical extras. The outdoor area is safe and very secure, the games room and undercover bbq a nice extra (especially if the weather is unkind). We booked this 2 years ago and finally made it for a 60th birthday gathering. Three couples, the layout is such that you can all get together but also have your own space. Views from the hot tub/garden are stunning.

Stunning 'quirky property' which has been very well thought out on its redevelopment.
Fantastic short break in a stunning property with great location and access to nearby places ie Hexham, Corbridge. Everything catered for and internally property was perfect. For constructive feedback only the only things I was disappointed with was how uncomfortable the water bed was (had to move rooms mid break due to lack of sleep). There was also no table and chairs/comfortable seating outside. Outside kitchen and games room were fab and communication with owner has been brilliant. Thank you

We were a group of 6 celebrating my wifes 60th and everything exceeded our expectations. From communication from Mark to the actual property, everything was 5 Star & 1st Class. The photos did not do the property justice and was the best property we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. With so much to occupy us we always had something to do. I had booked also the Chef Lewis as a surprise and he gave us all the most mind blowing dining experience and insisted all doing everything right upto serving and leaving the kitchen spotless when he left. He has to be booked or miss out on proper fine dining at the highest level. I including our group just cannot reccommend Winnie Cottage highly enough. Other property owners can only look & weep. The maintenance man Paul was just leaving on our arrival and offered to show us around and explaining everything and was so helpful. Mark & Michelle always available if needed. The Welcome Hamper most generous & appreciated. What more can be said other than if looking for the Ultimate stay then look no further. Winnie Cottage has it all and more!

Wonderful hamper on arrival, and excellent array of entertainment.The only negatives were lack of dishcloth,tea towel and starter pack of dishwasher tablets. Although clean, certain areas could have been cleaner eg kitchen floor and some crockery and glasswear. However would love to return at a later time of the year to make the most of a fantastic array of facilities

If your looking for a weekend away with daily power cuts, bits of the property falling to bits around you, grubby unwashed dishes in the cupboards and dog fecies around the kids trampoline this is the place for you. Do not take kids under the age of eight to this property. Will not be returning or recommending.

In response to the review. The guests actually arrived during 2 x storms which hit Northumberland/Scotland. At the time 33 thousand homes were temporarily without power in both Northumberland/Scotland for a couple of hours. Maintenance guy immediately attended and fix a couple of loose boards which had come loose around the property. The property had not been occupied for a few weeks due to upgrades being carried out so the dog fecies were from the guests dog which we were not informed was attending. At no point did the guests raise any concerns or issues and like the thousands of households, we were very much in the hands of Powergrid for power being restored.

Perfect accommodation for family and friends get together
We stayed here over the new year and it was the perfect place, there was 6 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs in our group and there was plenty of space for us all to move around and not be on top of each other. There was more than enough activities to keep both adults and the child entertained from hot tub to darts. The property had everything you needed from towels to all kitchen appliances. We loved it that much we booked for this new year before we left.

Beautiful setting, the cottage is very high spec, you will not be disappointed.
We stayed here in November 2021, when we booked the pictures looked amazing but when entering the cottage and looking around I was blown away, the cottage is fully equipped with top of the range stuff, and is very high spec, the master ensuite is out of this world I felt like a celebrity, I would recommend this cottage 100%, the views from the hottub was so pretty and very secluded. Bonus was the new games area with darts, pool etc.. I would love to 're book for next year, .. if you are lucky enough to book and stay here, the private chef ( Lewis) is amazing, very talented young man you will not be disappointed. The host Mark was very good at answering any messages. Had the best stay here making lots of memories.

Perfect retreat in Northumberland
Winnie Cottage offers the perfect retreat for family or friends nestled with stunning views overlooking the Northumberland countryside. If you can't find something to entertain yourself with here you are doing something wrong - a plethora of outdoor activities including trampoline, goalposts and swingball for (not so little) kids to play with; spacious hot tub and cosy sauna to relax in alongside pampering in huge bathrooms; and treat yourself to delicious food in one of the two kitchens. We particularly enjoyed the new outdoor kitchen with the versatile hotplate - perfect for big breakfast fry ups or evening BBQs. Fire pits and snooker table give a great place to relax in the evening. Beds are comfortable - water bed in master bedroom especially so, and there are thoughtful touches like welcome basket and supply of toiletries in case you have forgotten yours. Thank you Mark and Michelle!

Great family trip!
Lovely place with gorgeous outdoor space and facilities. Beautiful! We were 2 families with children ranging from age 3 to 14 and we had a wonderful holiday. Great communication with the proprietors, always on hand if you needed anything and lovely maintenance man too! Being big cooks, it would’ve been ideal with a larger selection of pans and cooking utensils as we struggled here a little. Also would be great if the downstairs bathroom had a walk in shower instead of a bath. Upstairs bathroom is amazing with a gorgeous bath! Overall a wonderful holiday though!

Due to Covid we had to rebook this twice from our original date. Communication from the owners throughout the booking process was fantastic, never had to wait longer than half an hour for a response. We had the perfect stay, there is literally everything in the cottage to be able to have a full self catering experience. We enjoyed dining in every night and took full advantage of the outdoor kitchen which is great to cook in. The cottage itself has a great layout and our children loved all of the toys inside and out, the trampoline being a favourite. Will definitely stay again.

Had a lovely weekend at Winnie Cottage, it was just as we had hoped for ( 16 months late due to COVID) well worth the wait! Location was perfect, easy to get to. The views from the paddock stretched for miles! This property had everything we needed, 6 adults and 3 under 4 years, the trampoline and slide were a great hit! For us adults we enjoyed cooking in the outdoor kitchen ( with a cute Bee 🐝 theme crockery ) and of course the hot tub, again with great views, great place to relax once the little ones were in bed . The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed. Would certainly look to book again 😊 we were also blessed with some amazing weather 😎x

Stunning Property
We visited Winnie farm as two families and a dog. Everything is as it says, very clean and all the appliances you could wish for. The outdoor area was lovely and had extra fridges which was great for more than one family. The area is stunning and a great pub to go to in walking distance the Bluebell Inn. Kids had a lovely time exploring the area and all the extra in the garden. Safe for our cockapoo too which was a big relief. The only small issue we had was the master bedroom and the heat with three people in there but it was in the May heatwave! Might be worth putting a fan in there especially as it is a warm property. Mark and Michelle thank you for such a well needed overdue break.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in a superb cottage
Having reviewed the cottage on-line, seeing it in person was something else. It is beautiful. The views are amazing and it has all the facilities to keep a family entertained (ours were 9 and 13). Amazing outdoor spaces even in the rain. We loved our break here and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

What a wonderful place Winnie Cottage is, would definitely recommend it. We re booked for next year within an hour of arriving! We then made another booking and raved about it so much our friends have also booked. It really does have everything you could ever need for a fabulous relaxing break. Beautiful and immaculate house, fantastic facilities in spectacular surrounding. Really thoughtful welcome gift and really responsive hosts, Michele and Mark. We were so sad to leave but it’s a fab feeling knowing we will be returning.. 😃

Lovely cottage with fantistic views
This cottage had everything you can think of including hot tub, sauna, stunning views, enclosed garden (great for dogs) , outdoor kitchen and games room with table tennis, pool table and darts. Open fires were lovely touch although thankfully we had weather we didn't need them and closest we got was using the outdoor fire pit one night while we sat outside for tea. We had the services of the private chef which was stunningly good value and the most incredible experience and food. He came with all own equiptment, served us a mean that would not have been out of place at a Michelin star restuarantin and then washed up and left with no more to do than if you had attended a restuarant and gone home but without the need to drive or go out and why would you with the lovely dining room watching the sun set over the stunning views. A slight gripe would be the number of notices saying what you can and can't do and the fines if you don't but I guess this keeps the place in good order so I had to get over myself on them. I guess that would be my only gripe so can't be bad. Oh and the very steep spiral staircase to the kitchen but can't complain about that but to say really if anyone has mobility issues it is really steep but once down there it is a cosy aladdins cave of possibilities and if you don't fancy the walk down use the stunningly set up outdoor kitchen upstairs where you can be on one floor with the living room and bedroom. One suggestion for the cottage or people visiting would be some robes to go in and out to the hot tub as was either a cool dash in April or getting undressed and dressed by the tub. It has so many other things this seemed a small ommision that could be easily rectified. The area is gorgeous and Northumberland and this cottage will definately be seeing us again.

Great place...Great break
Beautiful property with every imaginable facility and provision. Hot tub was to die for. Log burner made for cosy evenings. Would be an amazing place for a summer break with outdoor kitchen, seating, fireplace etc. Great break. Very relaxing. Happy days.
