A Night in Newport News

Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Location price and staff were all excellent.
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms and the facility needs to be refurbished.
Location: Location was central to my particular needs at the PFAC and restaurants.
The hotel was convenient for my destination, PFAC. The hotel price was very reasonable and the staff first class. My only complaints are with the aging infrastructure and room cleanliness. Both need attention as remnants from the previous guest(s) were not removed during the house cleaning process and the bathroom was in need of a more thorough cleaning along with the carpet and furniture.

Solid hotel but breakfast lacking

Posted Jan 4, 2015
The hotel was a good value. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast offering was limited, the breakfast room too small for the numbers, and the staff was slow in restocking the food. But for the price, I was fine with getting my breakfast at Chick-fil-a.

Decent one night stay

This hotel was a decent one. The only complants I have are the toilet did not flush easily and the shower was missing the plug so you were unable to take a bath. Other than that this hotel provided an acceptable experience.

Christmas stay

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: Reasonable price, large room w/ fridge and microwave
Cons: Size of beds, room keys,breakfast...see above
Location: Short drive to Williamsburg or Virginia beach. Plenty of shopping, dining ,etc. in the area.
Very nice room for the price compared to some others in the area. Double beds a bit small for two adults, should upgrade rooms to two queens. Thermostat a bit tricky to regulate ,due to placement. Room keys are a small problem. i have had keys of this type before, never so unstable though..slightest proximity to an electronic device wipes them out. The breakfast could use an upgrade, maybe extend to 10 am too. Despite these minor issues, a pleasant stay.Plan to return when visiting relatives there again.

Pros: hotel was clean; easy access
Cons: the customer service could stand an overhaul.
our stay was brief but the hotel was nice. We were a bit disappointed with the staff. No one was rude but the front desk wasn't manned in the morning when checking out. I wasn't even offered a receipt.

Nice hotel; excellent staff.

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Pleasant staff, clean room, good breakfast.
Cons: As with most hotel rooms there was no overhead light. This would be my major improvement.
Location: We stayed here for a doctor visit nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in this area.
We needed a clean room with a fridge and microwave. Indeed, our room was clean, bed slept good, there was enough towels and it did have a fridge and microwave. Heat would not work in the room we got but the staff moved us into another room very quickly. Everyone was helpful, the breakfast was good and we will stay here again.

Comfortable, well appointed room.

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and very comfortable room.
Cons: The lighting for one thing. Also, there was a slight odor.
Location: There are many restaurants and shopping areas nearby. Our main reason to be there was getting ready for surgery at a nearby hospital.
We are very satisfied with this Best Western. There were several amenities that most hotels we have stayed in did not have. We were pleasantly surprised to find a sitting area in our room. The central air was my favorite and a room with curtains and mini blinds was a nice touch. Also, a nice addition was a refrigerator and a microwave. There was an ample supply of linens and toiletries. The only drawback was one that most similar establishments have and that is a lack of overhead lighting. We found an extremely friendly and helpful staff. We will be back in this area three more times in the next month and will be staying here each time. A high recommendation for this motel!!

Best Western Newport News

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Rooms were comfortable. Price was reasonable.
Cons: The breakfast selection was OK. The only fruit were tasteless apples. Sad because this is harvest season.
Location: See experience above.
The hotel is convenient to Thomas Jefferson Laboratory, Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown National Park.
