This place definitely catfishes its patrons !! Mold everywhere even on one of our pillows !! And they force you to pay for daily breakfast even if u don’t want it !!

Reception is clean and modern but the rest of the hotel, particularly the rooms need decorating and updating. The staff are friendly. The WiFi however is the worst I have ever experienced. Apparently if the hotel is busy then it’s pot luck if you can get connected anywhere in the hotel. In my 4 night stay I struggled to use the WiFi at all. Certainly not a great hotel for a business trip.

Definitely not 4 star standard
Reception & breakfast area 4 star standard, rooms 2 star standard. The bathroom reminded me of a 1970’s hotel & the bedroom wasn’t much better. We booked a superior room but was given a standard room as all the superior rooms are on the 5th floor and are being refurbished. We asked for a refund for the price difference between the 2 rooms and whilst they eventually agreed to refund to our credit card they never did & further attempts have been unsuccessful. I would ask to view the room before checking into this hotel as (apart from the reception area) this is far from 4 star standard.

Despite a very shaky start at reception when we checked in, the overall stay was good. The receptionist couldn't find our boooing and then wanted to charge us for three nights, even though we had already paid, eventually 10 minutes later he appeared from the back office to say he had a copy of our reservation.

Perfect location, very close to everything and calm at the same time, my single room was upgraded to double and it was very spacious with tea making facilities. Really pleased.

Worse Than Expected! En garde Hotel Apogia!
This is suppose to be a 4 star hotel. It is not. The lobby and hallways are nice looking and breakfast room is clean, but that is the best it has to offer. Walking into my room was stepping back in time to a 1980’s Holiday Inn in disrepair. There were three items I asked to be fixed; the safe malfunctioned and would not close properly (they fixed), the cheap plastic shower curtain was so long that you had to stand on it in the shower which is gross and slippery (dangerous), and the light block blind was broken. They did nothing on the last two. They offers me to change rooms, but said all rooms are same condition. Another big aggravation was the WiFi, which did not work half the time, no one knew how to fix this, and I depend on internet to run my business, especially to communicate with my personnel around the world. I will be back to Nice next year and will not stay there EVER again! I told them I would post a negative review and they said it did not matter to them. Also, I did email Hotels.com about the situation and did not receive any support from them, so keep that in mind when booking through them.

Bathrooms had mold/fungus. I took pics but i don't know how to upload them here. I am not exaggerating. I asked to be switched rooms and the second room had it too. The amount of mold was quite embarrassing/disgusting. Im going to file an official complaint against them once i figure out how. Internet was not working. I had to use my data... Both issues were discussed with front desk, but they disregarded my complaints. Even at checkout. Complete disregard. Definitely not a 4 star. Shame on expedia for giving this hotel this rating.

Solo trip to Nice
For North American standards it is not a 4 star. It is a 3 star. The service was good. They were helpful with advice. The location was good thanks to the new Tram that opened that weekend, otherwise it would not have been very convenient. It is about 20 min walk to the beach and 20 mins to old town Nice. It is a good location if you want to take the train to Monaco etc. For me the reason, I didn't rate it higher was simply for the condition of the room, the headboard was scratched up, the hair dryer was nonsense and had no power, they only gave you waterbottles on your first night, the ice machine was broken and didn't have any alternatives, they didn't have conditioner or body lotion and lastly no iron in the room. Maybe I am high maintenance but for 4 stars I expect some of those things. The wifi sucked as well, I couldn't connect half the time.

Property is in a great location. Ten minutes walk to the harbor, bus station, hop on hop off stop, little eating placing and grocery stores. Staff was extremely helpful. This place was a great find.

Reception gal very helpful and pleasant as she resolved the heating of my room issue - temperatures are centrally controlled and I found the room a bit cooler for my older age?..but she remedied the problem quickly. . Amenities good but wifi service was weak at times - unable to get mail. Perhaps was location of my room on 5th floor??..lobby was strong.

Good location, tram stop nearby which take you to the Opera square in about 10 minutes. Nice service, breakfast OK. The interior is a little bit “tired”. Overall: good value.

Great location for places to see, public transport
On entering, the hotel is fresh and clean, offering a bar and separate dining area, which is pleasant on the eye. There 2 elevators which benefits busy periods. Our room was close to the elevator which meant we heard it. Although it wasn’t overbearing, it was noticeable. Our room faced a back yard, which actually worked in our favor, away from the celebrations of France entering the finals of the World Cup. (A great Experian) The bathroom to the room was a little warn out by Maltreatment of some kind. Also, where the taps had leaked excessively, rust began to develop, this, I believe should be addressed. I didn’t use the tv, so couldn’t tell you what was on it. We received 2 complimentary bottles of water, which I think was a nice gesture. Location was great, walking distance to the beach, marina, museums, tram, etc, old town. Perfect! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely and very helpful. We would stay again.

Not as advertised, but overall positive experience
The room I got was a bit rundown, there was rust on the ceiling in the shower and the seams around the bathtub were all taken apart, room was dark lit not as the advertised pictures. Room was set at 22celsius and I couldn’t change it to make it cooler, ended leaving the windows open. Otherwise bed was comfortable, it was in good location to access the convention centre and short walk to eateries and shops.

Great bang for your buck
I was looking for a cheap place to store my luggage and crash at night. I got that and more, the room was clean, and the service fantastic, right down to the daily waterbottles left in my room. I loved my stay!

Modern hotel in a good location
The staff were so very helpful and really went the extra mile to ensure we got to our destination. Train station and the port are both just a 10 minute walk away.

The hotel is well located and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom needs renovating. And their is a motion sensor light that goes on whenever you move which was annoying.

Very quiet, comfortable hotel
I was very happy with this hotel. Most important to a light sleeper like myself, it's at a quiet intersection away from major roads and has very good internal and external sound proofing and quiet air conditioning. My room was quite large compared to many hotels I've stayed in in Paris and elsewhere in France. While there are not a lot of restaurants within the immediate vicinity of the hotel it's a short walk to the tram and buses and only 10 or 15 minutes into the old town. I'd certainly return in the future if the opportunity presents itself.

Great price and location
If price, location, parking is at the top in your priority list for Nice then this is what you are looking for. We stayed here for 4 nights and then had to switch to another hotel. We really missed the comfort and convenience of Apogia right away. I would definitely stay here again. Parking is inside the hotel and is just $15/day which is not possible for other hotels. Rooms are big enough for Nice old town and literally 10 mins from promenade des anglais. It's a local location and Carrefour is 5 mins walking distance if you want to get groceries for breakfast/dinner. There is fridge in the rooms.
