We chose the Old Town Chambers based on its location (perfect!) and other reviews. Getting to the Chambers was a bit difficult (lots of steep steps), but the directions we received were excellent. The efficiency apartment was very clean and modern -- and our location was very quiet! The reception area was a bit difficult to find (in another building) and the staff did not seem very well informed, although they tried to be somewhat helpful.

The hotel is close to the sites. Beautiful exterior. Spacious rooms. Felt more upscale than price would suggest. Fellow travelers complimented our choice several times. Staff is warm and welcoming. Excellent stay with no complaints.

We arrived very late on Friday night to be greeted by Javier who was extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful, as were all the staff. We then went to our "family" room which had a fabulous Edinburgh Castle view which was magical and breathtaking. The room was spotless and each wall was adorned with photography of the local area. The beds were extremely comfortable and firm with plenty of plump feather pillows. I have never slept properly in hotels....until we stayed here. We all had the most wonderful sleep!
The location is second-to-none as Grassmarket is full of quirky independent shops, bars, restaurants and has a market on Saturdays. It was superb-so vibrant. At night there is street noise from revellers but nothing that a pair of earplugs can't resolve. (These were even included by the Apex International and replaced!).
We had breakfast included which was served on the fifth floor looking out onto the Castle. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly and accommodating. Even when the breakfast room was packed with wedding guests the day after a wedding it still worked and the staff were faultless and we were seated very quickly.
A beautiful stylish bar welcomes you as you enter the hotel and a swish restaurant.
My daughters used the pool and thoroughly enjoyed the experience especially using the complimentary Elemis products afterwards.
In summary, this hotel cannot be recommended highly enough by our whole family. We didn't want to go home!

Everyone in the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly to us. . .we would stay here again without even thinking about it. The best things are the fact that there is easy parking in the center of Edinburgh, and the hotel is absolutely in the center of everything that you need to see and do in town. Most wonderful. . .we love this hotel.

After a week starting in Edinburgh we wanted to end our trip in the same wonderful city.
Everything went very smoothly. The staff were efficient and friendly. When we checked out they offered to secure our cases for the day without the need to ask. Our stay was only for one night but I am sure for a longer stay things would be even better.

Location is central to both old and new town and a 5 minute walk from Waverly station (a huge plus for day trips). Breakfast wasn't included in rate, but you pay 8 pounds the night before at the front desk for a breakfast ticket (10 pounds that morning). Well worth it. Had breakfast at 3 other restaurants along Royal Mile. The buffet at the hotel is by far the cheapest and you get way more food. The only problem I had with the hotel are the beds. In my room, we had one double and a single. Having tried them both, I thought they were uncomfortable. Not a dealbreaker, as I would have no problem staying here again. Edinburgh is a great city and Jurys Inn is just a place to lay your head. Nothing more, which was fine. You aren't going there to hang in your hotel room.

With narrow, winding streets and alleys, this mediaeval district is a contrast to New Town. Acting as the main artery, the Royal Mile begins at Edinburgh Castle and ends at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Family’s residence. Many tourist attractions are found in Old Town including the National Galleries, Royal Museum, and St. Giles Cathedral.
