Good for a night as far as location to transport station. I.e Universal Studios and close to street shopping. However, it was very very tight quarters. It felt as if I were sleeping in an RV. Bathroom small so if you’re anything over 5’9 you’re going to be uncomfortable in the space. I’m very sensitive to mold and my allergies were kicking up so it was uncomfortable to sleep. On top of the beds being very stiff. The staff was very friendly nonetheless. Older building so be gentle with it. I wouldn’t stay here again personally, but it is within budget for others.

Thank you for understanding.Our hotel group(bridge hotel group) has three hotels in Osaka. Other hotels are newer and have slightly larger rooms than the Dotonbori Hotel. Our room was very small. Bathroom which included toilet and wash basin couldn't have been more than 1.5m x 1.7m. It was difficult to use. On the positive; the staff were lovely and helpful. Amenities were ok.

When i come to Osaka I will always book here. This hotel really caters to their guest. English speaking friendly. Happy hour specials, unlimited tea and coffee. Free water bottles left in front of your room everyday. In heart of the city. What more could I have asked for.

Good hotel for what we needed. Just needed a place to sleep while we spent most of the day exploring Osaka. Very close to Dotonbori, tourist locations, and a ton of food. Overall a nice hotel. Smaller rooms, but enough for 2 people and our luggage.

Hotel offered free drinks and ice cream in the afternoon and early evening. There were also 2 massage chairs in the lobby for hotel guests. The breakfast buffet included a wide variety of Japanese and western items and the menu changed daily.

This is an amazing hotel. I would choose it again. The breakfast is good. As is the free beer and ice cream in the afternoons and free coffee and tea all day. The location is super convenient to the trains and the canal.

This hotel is a bit on the dated side. Bathroom was really tiny. But the location is unbeatable! Right in the center of Dotonburi. The hotel offers free breakfast (which has the traditional Japanese breakfast items that include pastries & desserts) & snacks through out your stay from free coffee, alcohol, and even ice cream to even providing a midnight snack of instant ramen. I would stay here again. Great amenities offered by hotel.

“An excellent hotel for a short or transit stay; the place is very clean and quiet, with very good soundproofing and ventilation systems. Additionally, there are extra services such as complimentary alcohol and snacks available at certain times and message chairs etc .

The hotel was located at a convenient place for shopping and dinning. The hotel staff were excellent - they speak and understand English and accomodating. We understood the hotel is under construction and appreciate the hotel making the upgrade.

Located just minutes away from Nankai Nanba and JR Nanba stations, this hotel is a great place if you want get to the most touristic part of Osaka. It has many shops and restaurants around. The hotel itself is a bit old but very clean and the staff very friendly. You have ice cream and drinks for service on the afternoon and two bottles of water in your room.

Amazing hotel!
My family and I have stayed here multiple times and have always enjoyed it. The close location to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi is amazing. All the additional amenities can't be beat in the area.

Nice location with free snack in between 8.30pm to 9pm at the lobby also have massage chair. Am lucky to got a room near the laundry room and also have ice cude machine and hot and cold water machine. Although the check in was 3pm and we able to leave the luggage with them and and we came back they just give us the key card as the luggage was already in the room

Good location. Beds are not comfortable
The location is great, plenty of places to eat and party close to the hotel . There was mold in the sink drain. The seals on the door were moldy and the shower was dirty. The beds are rock hard and the pillows are very hard also.

The only good thing about this place is the location in relation to Dotonbori and the free drinks at night. Other than that, it is extremely loud (the people staying here in general were rowdy), dirty, and run down. The bidet in the women’s bathroom downstairs had smeared blood and poop on the nozzle and very likely caused my friend to get a UTI. There were so many nicer places nearby, I don’t understand the high ratings of this place.

If you are a Westerner and need a middle of the road place to stay then I advise this hotel. You can't beat the price. If you are looking for something modern, fresh, advanced, this is not the place. I like it because of the location and the catering to westerners. The bathrooms are too small. (I'm 5'7" and I had to duck down to see my face.) Sweet girls at front desk, could not be any nicer. No tea pot.

Convenient location, beer/ice cream was nice Room was very small, bathroom had a step up to go in, felt like being in a holiday trailer. Also, had a bit of a pee smell to it. The whole building seemed like a pre-fab/portable. Pillows/bed weren't great. Would be fine for a younger crowd wanting to be close to the action, I guess this is my sign that I am indeed pushing 40

Fun hotel to stay in and really close to rail and all the fun stuff in the area. this hotel is old but still has Osaka charm. Loved the relaxed community vibe this place had in the lobby during the free aneminities such as Ice cream , sake , beer and cold high balls.

Even by Japanese standards, our room was incredibly small and the bathroom was even worse, size-wise and condition-wise. No desk, no chair, really pathetic. Quintessential, two star hotel. The lobby was nice, though. Even though we had pre-paid for four nights, we left after two.

Overall a decent stay on a budget. The free beer and Ice cream is a nice touch. Dotonbori is a fun little area with tons of stuff and a large train station within walking distance. Be advised, these are definitly small Japanese style rooms with a tiny pod bathroom. My biggest complaint would be the AC. It would go down to 20c but then aitomatically default to 25c after a couple hours. I would then wake up sweating and have to constantly re set it. The hotel I stayed at after this one allowed their AC to stay at 18c. That was MUCH nicer for the same size room. Summer is HOT there!

I'd have to say that this property was quite disappointing. There was a strange smell throughout the whole building, the bathroom was impractically small, the air-conditioning either did not work properly or was set to change to 28C after a set time, I'd have to wake up several times a night to change it back to cooling. One of the staff members spoke rudely to my children.. And the list goes on. I would never stay here again.
