A fire risk hotel.
This hotel may look lovely, Now just think if there was a fire. No fire alarm system in this hotel, So no smoke detectors anywhere in this hotel, No fire sprinkler system anywhere in this hotel. No red break glass to raise the alarm of a fire in this hotel. No thing was a single fire extinguisher on each level of this 14 floor building. Room, lobby and hallways are full of wood and clutter. Now, Just think before booking. If, god forbid, there was a fire how would you escape? With no audible fire alarm system and the hotel is narrow and tall. Not even a fire escape plan in any room. This dated hotel is in despirate need of a safety review and is not in good condition anymore. Just look at any photos of this place. Nothing to protect life in the event of a fire. People will give this place 8/10 or 10/10 but they have not taken the safety into account. If you have no problem staying in accommodation without fire safety, then go ahead and book. And download the pass app for cheaper taxis. Breakfast is very poor as its all mix and match. Better off eating out. Ive stayed in some real bad places and never left a review but this place is the worst so far.

Phnom Pehn stay.
Very comfortable double room with small balcony. Beautiful foyer, with very ornate furnishings. Staff very welcoming. Great location, across road from school, close to many food outlets, bars & shops. All around very nice, no complaints.

Hotel was in a good location. Nice clean rooms. Tho only problem I had was that there was no hot water they moved me from my first room to another room on a different. Floor but it was still the same no hot water. Was told to leave it running for 10 minuets. But it was to no avail. But apart from that it’s a great hotel. Would stay there again.

Hotel was average for the price, nice pool and views but could have been cleaner and I was prepared to give a half decent review. However, the issue came when money was stolen from our room. The attitude of the staff was disgusting, suggesting we had spent the money ourselves, and refusing to call the police because they "didn't know the number". We were allowed to see security footage... At approximately 5 times real time, this would have taken hours. It felt like the staff were laughing at us rather than showing any sympathy and I felt totally unsafe that the room could be accessed like that as I was travelling alone for the start of my stay. All staff we spoke too kept repeating the line "this has never happened before" which makes me in pretty sure that is not the case.

Great location as it is close to the riverside and palace. Kind and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet had many options and our kids loved it. Reasonably priced. Unfortunately the pool caused most of us to get very itchy. We would stay there again if we don’t plan on swimming.

Nice hotel with nice rooms. The woodwork everywhere in the hotel is amazing. Ask for a room on the 6th floor or higher for better light. My only complaint was the air condition blew cold air directly on the beds instead of an indirect flow.

Okay hotel is an older hotel that features Khmer woodwork and carvings throughout. Our 1st room was spacious with a great view of the Palace. Unfortunately, we were woken up at 1:00 AM by a loud screeching noise from the wall mounted air conditioner and a large pool of water on the floor underneath it. Staff promptly changed our room to a comparable room. Pool is small and loungers get occupied quickly. Temperature is great! Towels at the pool and rooms are thin and have seen better days. When they say slippers, they mean rubber flip flops, not house slippers. Breakfast is okay. Coffee could be better. Best thing is the staff and the central location close to all the tourist sites.

a respite from the city
Staying at the hotel is like living in a jewellery box, all the ornate gleaming wood and old world charm. The rooftop pool is a wonderful respite from the business of the city but it is difficult to get a space. Some reception staff were quite brusque at times and there seemed to be a sense of inflexibility and that they didn’t enjoy their job. Apart from that, the hotel was lovely.

Sewer smell in bathroom, yucky towels were like rags, sink backed up every time we used it, and no response to our request to fix it. Bathroom was untidy. Garbage in street across from hotel was piled up and picked through and left an awful smell. We saw several other hotels in area that were much nicer. Expedia - how could you have a 4-star rating ?

The location is probably the best thing about this place. Everything else was a huge disappointment for me. First of all, my questions in e-mails were never answered prior to my arrival. I arrived at 9pm to check-in, tired after a long day and I was told that I had to wait 15 min because my room wasn't ready. At 9pm!! I said this is unacceptable as checking in opens at 2pm. I got some lame excuse but I insisted that I needed my room. The lady said OK, I could go soon. As I finally entered the room, a handful of mosquitoes surrounded me and got 5 bits in about 3 minutes. I went down to reception to complain. Instead of offering a different room, maintenance arrived with a Raid! spray and sprayed my room full so I had to leave for a while. When I finally got into bed, I noticed that one of the pillows had patches on. I checked the others that had short, black hair on them. I was shocked but too tired to go down again to complain. Let's not forget that it's coronavirus period and it's highly likely that I was given a bed with dirty bedsheet!!! I just threw all the pillows on the floor, got my towel under my head and had a broken night's sleep. I complained in the morning and instead of an explanation, they thanked me for my concerns. The mosquitoes stayed for the whole time, bothering and biting me while trying to sleep. Adding to that, the reception had zero control over noisy, drunk guests returning in the middle of the night that kept me awake between 1-2am.Not recommended.

Food is good especially the banana bread. However, breakfast was always served late. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am but when I went there at 6:30, no food ready ...they were just starting putting the food and sweeping the floor and arranging the tables. If it is 6:30, food must be ready because other customers go out early. The personnel should at least give a SMILE to the customers. They were too serious.

Breakfast is wonderful with a view of the Royal Palace. Always use Grab or PassApp don’t use the TukTuks in front of the hotel. They charge twice or three times the price.

Loved the breakfast and restaurant decor, views and lovely breeze. Pool deck was also beautiful to refresh in the afternoons. Room was OK, but there was an extremely foul sewer smell coming from the toilet they sprayed down the drain and it improved but worse the next morning. Finally they moved us to another room. Location was good and quiet and walkable to everything.

This property had signs up showing how to properly accept a hooker. It was super dirty. Ceiling leaking in room. Bed sheets stained and with hair. They wouldn’t give refund and only wanted to move room. No thanks. I finally demanded refund after showing them photos and they complied. I wouldn’t stay here unless truly prepared.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The view of the City was to die for. The assets are the sky bar and pool. The room was perfectly comfortable. I loved the stone bath/shower. All in all, i would reccommend a visit.

The entrance and the reception of the hotel is beautiful. The staff are very polite and extremely helpful. The girl at the information desk helped me set up my van service to Ratanakiri. The on-site spa service was great and the restaurant had decent food. However, the room itself reflected the price I paid for, so no comments there. It did have a balcony and the view of the Royal Palace. I traveled solo and it felt safe. It was a family-friendly hotel.

Rooms don't match pictures posted by management
We didn't even stay the night after check in. We packed our bags, found another hotel and moved ASAP. The rooms are dingy, substandard and do not match the pictures on social media posted by the hotel management. The hotel should post more real pictures to avoid tricking guests into booking and being shocked on arrival.

The hotel was beautiful.- one of the loveliest in which I have stayed. The rooms were spacious. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Pool was small but kept very clean. The cadre of tuktuk drivers were always available, friendly, and economical. The hotel staff were very gracious and helpful. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restaurant did not come up to the same level of quality as the rest of the hotel. The food was mediocre, more expensive than quality restaurants nearby, and the staff was less than welcoming. The hotel is on a small side street/court yard. Tuktuk drivers other than the hotel squad had a difficult time finding it.

Firstly, though I had paid for and reserved the room at Okay Boutique Hotel, when I landed at the hotel, I was told that they have run out of rooms. And all the while I was waiting at the reception, they were continuing to check-in people who came in after me. Of course, the difference was that they were all white which led me to believe that I was second priority to them (being an Indian and not European or American). When I asked how they were checking them in, he said oh you are single and you can go to the other hotel. When I argued, the check-in person and later the hotel owner I spoke to was quite rude and said they will refund the money if I have a problem. I had no choice since it was already late in the evening and running around with my luggage trying to find a hotel was not on my list. The question here is not the refund but to give me the services for which I had paid for. The hotel was ok, breakfast was bad, the service at breakfast was terrible. Being a single traveller and a woman, the idea of booking through Expedia is that I do not land up in a new country with no place to stay. I think Expedia also owes me an explanation as to why such properties are on their portal and they have to let clients know very clearly that the rooms are not guaranteed and they should not accept the booking with full payment and leave us in the hands of such unprofessional people. Hence for any people trying to look at the hotel, if you are white-ok, but others-beware!!

Location of the hotel was perfect, you can go by foot to the Royal Palace, history museum & many more...there’s also this excellent restaurant FAT nearby. I did not expect this hotel to be nearly as nice as it was- especially for the money. It is located in a small alley, away from all the craziness of the Phnom Penh streets. Both the exterior and interior of the hotel are covered in elaborate luxury wood carvings. The same goes for the room- The decor is just beautiful. They upgraded us to a huge room overlooking the city! Rooftop pool was nice as was the included breakfast. Attentive service as well

I liked the entrance and pool. I thought the breakfast venue has a great view of the city. I liked the location. The staff were also helpful and polite. My main issue with this hotel was being assigned an inferior room when I checked in as the aircon was not working and the electronic safe was broken. The room is located on the 12th floor next to the pump room and is noisy. The main door to the room uses a key unlike the electronic cards for other rooms. This room is next to the massage parlour too and is inappropriate for guests. Avoid room 1204 if offered. We were moved eventually, but after a long flight, this was not a good impression.

I was disappointed with this property. The lobby is pleasant and the pool and rooftop bar are very good. The location is excellent. The staff are polite and friendly and jolly but not the most efficient However, the hotel is overpriced. The rooftop restaurant is pleasant but overcrowded during breakfast. The breakfast is adequate but nothing special. I was particularly disappointed that there was no bacon.Due to the price I would not stay there again

The location is excellent, across from the national museum and royal palace. Breakfast is very good too, big variety of choice. In the bathroom, shower facility is kind of old fashion, can be upgraded in the future.

Great hotel, with helpful staff both before our during our stay. Traditional Asian breakfast, with an egg station, fruit and pancakes was delicious. Pool was great. We only used the restaurant once, this was delicious and at a very reasonable cost. We went on the okay boat trip, which was a dollar for transport and you only payed for food and drink consumed on the boat, which was only the same price as the local eateries, so in real terms, it was free. My only gripe would be the tuk tuk drivers wanting to charge you double the amount of what it should cost and then give you grief for using “Grab”, if there prices were reasonable without all the bartering hassle, we would have used them every time. But all in all, a great hotel.

This place is awesome!
I was quizzical about the name, the 'Okay Hotel', but its fantastic: they should rename it! Like living in a museum, all authentic Cambodian style. Never seen anything like it, but loved it! Service was great, they helped me out a couple of times and upgraded the room. Food was really good, happy hour round the pool was a little odd, but the view from the pool is awesome! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. It is very popular and very busy, perhaps no surprise. In fact I liked it so much I extended my stay!

Great hotel. Highly recommend!
Really great hotel. The room was very spacious and the shower was great and plenty of hot water. We have been in other hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia and this has been the best one we stayed in. There were also prices in the hotel room for Tuk Tuks which were very reasonable. Perfect location walking distance to everywhere in the city centre.
