This place was great. The staff were super friendly. It’s an 8 minute walk to the beach. And the pool was very refreshing after a day at the beach.

Beautiful hotel about 7 minutes walk to the beach.
Loved the hotel’s location. It was a minute to the closest Exchange currency booth, a choice of restaurants nearby. Beach was a 7 minute walk. Loved The hotel’s grounds, beautiful green and leafy gardens. Pools surrounded by palm trees, frangipanis which provided us with great protection from the sun. Staff were very courteous and friendly. The only downside I found was the fact that there was no safe in the room. However, there were safe deposit boxes at the reception which was accessible until 10.00 pm. Overall, I give Kata Country House 8/10.

Nice relaxing chilled out place.
We stayed in a bungalow and enjoyed our stay. It is in the heart of the action but it's set back from the street so you don't get the street noise. We liked the room and the staff where very friendly.

The room was in need of renovation. The walls were badly stained. The room was close to a busy road which meant lots of traffic noise. The toilet had no window or extract fan which meant that toilet odors remained in the room. The office manager was not at all helpful when requesting a change of room.

The staff is helpful and very kind.
Staff was very helpful, they offer 1 day programs on reasonable prices, and helped also to book our trip to Phi Phi. We could leave our bags during our stay on Phi Phi and then we returned back to the hotel. The enviroment is very peacefull and rooms are clean.

Guests are 99% Russian so no international feel

We stayed here for two nights in the bungalow suite for our honeymoon trip through Thailand. The first room that was assigned to us had a 2 inch hole right at the food of the bed which was concerning for bugs coming in and out, ac purposes and structure. We contacted the front desk where they tried to shrug it off before finally moving us to another room. The second night we were there, the power went out to the bungalow and noticed that only certain rooms were without power (the ones next to us HAD power, though). It was around 2AM when my husband went to the front desk and they said it would be fixed in 2-3 hours. The room was so uncomfortable in the Thailand heat, neither of us were able to sleep. 2 hours later I went to the front desk and the gentlemen said it would be 2 hours again, which caused an argument since it had already been two hours since we first complained once we woke up, which it could have been at least another hour since the power was originally lost. The man was very rude and not comforting in the situation. I wanted him to give me a room with ac but there was no budging. Around 6 AM, the power was FINALLY restored, to our disadvantage, we had no sleep that night. Although the woman at the front desk during the day was very nice and helpful, I would not recommend this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was not good, we opted to find another breakfast place our last morning after no sleep.

Great for the price.
Really enjoyed my stay. About 5 mins to the beach and the centre of Kata. Room was simple and clean, with a nice outlook over the pool. The reception staff were helpful. They recommended some fantastic tours. I wouldn't recommend the hotel restaurant though. I'd be happy to stay here again.

A little hidden gem.
We stayed for three and a half weeks and knew it was a budget hotel so did not expect 4 or 5 star facilities. We found it very comfortable, extremely clean and well maintained. In New Zealand it would probably be rated 3 star. Twice we had to report small problems in the room. These were fixed immediately, we were most impressed. The pool was clean, beautiful and equally as good as some of the pools in the more expensive hotels we have stayed in when visiting Phuket. The grounds were most attractive and well cared for. We found our room quiet and had a pleasant view of the gardens. There were plenty of towels and toiletries. Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful.

The room I had was not good. There was no wondow so no sunlight. The sewage smell stunk up the whole room and toilet did not function. I asked a cleaning lady to fix and she did but it started leaking again after one flush. They refused to change the room. The pool was open until 7pm only. There is a sign saying they are not responsible for lost items so deposit in their safe at front but they are not responsible for items missing in safe.

The hotel is in a central location and has a lot of character. Its name is fitting. I had a basic room but the other rooms looked much better. The pool was clean and big enough for the number of guests who were using it. The restaurant was good for breakfast and lunch/dinner. The staff were pleasant but language was an issue. The transfer to the airport was poorly organised by reception staff

A Hidden Gem
When we first arrived, we weren't sure about this hotel. From the street it is impossible to tell what lies beyond the entrance. Once we walked into the complex we were greeted by gardens, greenery, pathways, two pools and low profile buildings. Quite lovely. We had a deluxe room on the second floor overlooking the two pools and loved it. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom and good shower. Located quite centrally, The hotel is close to many restaurants and markets and the beach is a short ten minute walk away. The room included a beach bag that contained two towels and a mat, everything needed for a day at the beach. Service at the font desk was wonderful, and we need to mention both Chad and Ricki who went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kata Country House and would certainly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a walk to the beach.

Very Satisfying Stay
Umbrellas and beach mat provided were so useful! They even gave a bottle water per guest each day. Location is a 5-8 min walk to the beach and is rather central at kata along the main road. Love the stay at kata country house. Staff went to lengths to help get a taxi to airport at peak evening time. Note that the lobby does not open 24 hours and is closed at night.

When we 1st arrived we where put in a disgusting dirty room , filled with Mosquitos , the louverd windows didn't close ,it was really bad . We then asked to be moved and the 2nd room was much nicer with closing windows , bathroom was clean and it was overall a much better room and we where happy . The hotel is in a great spot with good restaurants around and close to the beach .

Friendly, Convenient and Secure Hotel
Set back from the main bustling Kata street, this hotel provides a quiet, highly secure and friendly location with excellent accommodation, pool, restaurant and wifi. I have stayed many times now and find the staff so helpful and friendly that I just keep coming back.

The hotel pools are very nice and relaxing except, I was disappointed that there was some building work going on right next to the pool which I was not told about before the visit and the drilling was disturbing whilst trying to relax around the pool area. The breakfast is ok more Asian choice than western but the lunch and dinner menu is very nice and tasty and cheap. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful when needing assistance.

But you get what you pay for. The shower smelled of sewer and there were black scuffs and fingerprints all over the walls. There also wasn't a proper shower, just a showerhead against the wall in the bathroom so that when you shower, the whole bathroom floor, toilet and sink gets wet.

This hotel is not close to KATA beach, but it has garden-like surroundings, plants are everywhere which makes one feel peaceful and delight. Swimming pool is pretty. Service is OK, as well as breakfast. They should do better on the cleaness of bedding though, there were several spots on sheet, didn't feel very comfortable. Overall it worth the price.

Pleasant stay. Room was clean. No complaints. Not super luxurious but we weren't expecting that. Met our expectations. Fairly long walk to the beach along an unpleasant smelling creek. Would suggest going to Karon Beach a little further down the road vs. Kata Beach.

KATA COUNTRY HOUSE - GREAT HOTEL
Booked a 4-day dive trip to Phuket and needed somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay. Kata Country House proved to be just that! Nice clean room, nothing fancy but just what I needed. Nice and clean, no bugs, no mould. Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast (decent buffé style) and wireless Internet (in lobby area only, unfortunately) included in room price. Central location, in the middle of Kata Beach. Added two more nights direct with hotel, as I decided to stay another couple of days, and had to change room - new room had a slight smell of mould, so could have been a problem if I would have had an allergy or had to stay longer. Will definitely stay here again on future dive trips to Phuket!

When you book it says the rooms have free wifi. Not only is it not free but it is not available in any of the rooms, only the reception area. The gardens of the hotel are great and this would be a good hotel for relaxing away from modern life. The rooms were clean but very hot (even more so than outside). Security boxes are available but only in the reception area, not the rooms.

Room 309 was terrible, but everything else decent
Cons: Hotel breakfast was good, very good value for the buck. The pool is smaller than it looks like but still very pleasent, and the staff in the pool nice. As for my room, i would not stay there again if it was free . I got the cheapest room, so make sure to not get that. Had a sewer running outside my door. I could hear everything my neighbours said, music, bathroom usage etc. It is a decent hotel, in a good location from everything but as I said, i had room 309, at the end of a halway. Cleaningservice was good but the room itself was rundown, mold in the bathroom. Very tiny bathroom as well
