A lovely hotel with a unique layout. Staff really welcoming and room nice and large with two double beds. Dining outside on terrace was lovely and it is a perfect place to stop journey through France Only downside was that the intoom tea and coffee facilities were incomplete and we couldn’t have an early morning hot drink

Unfortunately too many downsides to recommend
I so want to love this hotel as the building in which it is housed was a beautiful old timber framed premises which has been sympathetically restored. In addition the staff (especially receptionist) were all friendly and polite. Our bedroom was large and the beds and furniture comfortable. So the downsides? First of all, the building is on a double bend on a well used truck route. We could not believe how many large trucks drove past, making the road dangerous and noisy. Secondly, the towels in the bathroom were small and like sand-paper. Thirdly, the shower was simply a fitment from the bathtaps, with no curtain and too low to stand under.

Fabulous find!
Exceptional hotel and amazing find. Swimming pool was great. Quiet and restful location and lots of character. Restaurant was great, service very good and everyone very hospitable.

This is a Logis, not a hotel, but we were disappointed with the condition of the room. The glass on the top of the desk was cracked, the overhead light was not working, but most important of all, the lavatory did not work, and there was no shared alternative, although we were allowed a small discount and given an apology on leaving. The restaurant was pleasant but the staff were inexperienced.

Good hotel for stopover
Clean, bed comfy and overall ok - quiet village, nothing remarkable, just ok, didn’t have breakfast or dinner, visited a ‘Harvester’ type establishment down the road.

Tired hotel with excellent restaurant
I really like this hotel, I just wish they would sort out some of the persistent niggles that exist every year we go i.e. light bulbs not working, leaking taps, dirty velux blinds, defective air con. The outstanding feature of this place is it's kitchen & wine cellar, along with really good staff. If there was a rating for its food, it would be 6 out of 5 every single time!! We'll be back next year, I just hope they sort out the niggles!!

Terrible shower and jacuzzi that didn't work, the swimming pool is across the road, bit weird. Nice spot to eat in the garden, food nice but no choice for vegetarians.

Good things: friendly helpful staff, courtyard setting for evening meal, delicious breakfast, swimming pool, welcoming for children, ten minutes from the motorway Not good things: very noisy air conditioning unit that came on periodically and kept waking us up, shower broken in bedroom, no plug in sink, limited menu for children (ham/chips, steak haché/chips, omelette/chips) room very hot and right by the road so traffic noise if windows open.

Excellent hotel
Excellent stay with a delicious evening meal Aircon and double glazing made the room comfortable and quiet 2 small problems in the room which could have been easily fixed slightly took the shins of an enjoyable stay. The toilet seat was insecure and the shower bracket was missing Staff were excellent and the food was very good

Great stay!
One night stopover during long trip. Large family. Super big rooms. Atmospheric french hotel. We ate outside in the restaurant and had a fantastic meal. Great staff and overall really good value for money. Would definitely return.

Great place for a stopover or longer !
A warm welcome, and considering our limited French, we were able to understand everything as the Hotel Manager spoke clearly and deliberately to us. We had a very comfortable and spacious room. The restaurant was very chic but retained the original style of the building. We enjoyed a very good meal with very attentive service. The wine list was possibly a little expensive but very good. The next morning a very good self service breakfast is available in another salle a manger.

An excellent stopover on our way home from skiing in the French Alps. Though half an hour from the motorway, a very easy drive through attractive countryside. The village is very historic (Napoleon stayed at the hotel) with some wonderful medieval buildings. Very pleasant staff and a good dining room with good-value 19 euro menu. Very busy on the Saturday night we were there.

Perfect hotel to transit to from south of France
After a long drive from the south, this hotel was the perfect place to kick back & relax for our family of four (2 young children). Easy parking, easy check-in (the young woman on duty was welcoming, showed us to our large, two king sized beds room, served in the bar & also waited on table later that evening - very hard working & lovely with it) and the bonus was an outdoor swimming pool which was very welcoming after a long, hot drive. The bar was very pleasant, but the icing on the cake for this venue was the extremely high quality of it's food which was served for the evening meal. We only went for the 19 euro menu, but it was quite simply magnificent, made better by good local wine at a reasonable price. This would not have looked out of place in either Paris or London, it was that good! There were more pricier options & from a quick scan around the terrace, they looked just as impressive as our own. The room was basic (room 6), in need of a little updating decor wise, but it was clean, was well stocked with toiletries & even had a kettle with tea & coffee! The only major problem was that we couldn't get the air con to work at bedtime, so it was a hot night! Breakfast was good value, with a wide selection of cheese, cold meat, breads, juice, yoghurts etc & there was plenty of it. At the risk of making it harder for me to book in the future, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly this travelling with kids.

Convenient stop off hotel
La Todorne is a convenient stop off hotel on the way back to the Channel ports. It's located in a small town just outside Troyes, East of Paris and close to the motorway. The hotel has parking right outside. The rooms are a little tired but full of character and clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A major draw is the hotel's restaurant which has pretentions but also offers a very good quality and good value set meal. The hotel itself is extremely good value.

An overnight stay
Easy check in. Room very good size but basic amenities but a electric kettle was very welcome. Hotel fronts a main road but as our room was at the back it was very quiet. Limited forecourt parking but easy unrestricted street parking close by. Restaurant lived up to expectations and we had drinks in the garden at the rear which was pleasant with a couple of sun loungers. Excellent breakfast they even had their own DIY waffle maker. My wife tried the sauna which was OK but as not as hot as she expected The hotel offers excellent value but it is typically French it's not luxury but you are not paying luxury prices. We would be happy to return in future

After a long drive the hotel was easy to locate. We were received by a non english speaking lady, who made us feel comfortable with our limited french. The accommodation was good and the food provided at dinner was excellent.

Good sized room and comfortable beds but the bathroom was very gloomy. Nice quiet room at the back of the hotel. The staff only seemed to speak French so communication was limited unless you spoke fluent French. The evening meal was pleasant in the courtyard but the wine was well overpriced with prices starting at €22 for a basic wine that would be only few euros in the supermarket.

The logis was great , our room(for 3 people) was a really pleasant surprise. Loads of room, Jacuzzi bath etc. Close enough to motorway with an excellent restaurant. A brilliant start to a vacation.

One of our favourites
This is a hotel we have stayed in many times. It is quiet, peaceful and very relaxing. It is ideal as a stopover between the south of France and Calais although it is a little drive from the autoroute. The restaurant is lovely (although we didn't eat there this time, we have in the past). The rooms are a good size and clean. There are not tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms but that is fairly common in France. It does not deter us from staying there. The wifi provision is free and a very good speed. We will stay there again.

Good overnight stop on the way north or south
This is a good stop working south from the channel or north towards it. It's a nice old timbered building in a pleasant little town. The area is agricultural with lakes, but there is easy access to the motorway. The hotel is extremely comfortable, and the restaurant is good. Staff are delightful. Two draw backs: though the restaurant food is reasonable I thought the mark up on some very ordinary wine was excessive. And the wi fi connection was so weak as to be almost useless. Otherwise a useful find: we will use it again.

Secluded gem
Travelling through France to get to Dunkirk, my partner and I needed a place to stay for the night to break up the journey. We had to drive through quite a bit of farmland to get there but once we had arrived, we were delighted at the sight of this hotel. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated and the halls were filled with old memorabilia, making it very homely. Although we were too late for the restaurant on arrival, we managed to get a snack in the hotel bar and sit in the outdoor area surrounded by the hotel's beautiful barn-like exterior.

Difficulty with the door locked in the late evening and not open until 7 am when we had a dog with us whio wanted a walk. The hotel is beautiful, with air conditioning, but no mention is made of the above and no contact number apparently available

Visited twice. Minimal parking, had to use public parking area 70m away. Really more of a restaurant than a hotel - no manned reception after 7pm. On second visit, the restaurant was fully booked out and it was suggested that I go to Troyes. You need the ability to pre-book the restaurant when booking the hotel room.

Staff were welcoming and excellent in their service. We had a great time its a little gem of a place to stay with everything you could ask from such a hotel. I would glady revisit and would urge others to do the same. The surrounding area is lovely.

After reading a lot of negative reviews after we had booked this overnight stop I naerly cancelled our stay.Apart from our room being at the front on a busy road(although we still slept ok) our stay was lovely.The restaurant served an excellent 18 euro menu that was cooked to order and the service was very good.I think if you asked for a room at the back the traffic would not be a problem.The village is very pretty and quaint,and..I would stay there again
