Great 3.5 star resort on the beachPosted Jul 9, 2014
Stayed 7 nights at Breakas Beach Resort in a garden view fale, in June 2014. The resort is billed as 3.5 star but felt some aspects could deserve 4 star. Fales very comfortable and clean, perhaps a bit dark inside.Lovely large infinity pool makes up for a shocker of a beach especially at low tide. Snorkeling is disappointing as so much reef damage from tropical storms. The restaurant offers very good meals at not too pricey rates, their wine portions by the glass are extremely generous. The open bar area offering great sea & pool views is delightful. Staff overall are friendly for the most part but tend towards indifference when under pressure. They also are prone to forgetfulness! Being a resort for adults over 15 makes also for an appealing stay. We would come again for sure but would pay the extra for a sea view fale.

Great hotelPosted Jul 7, 2014
Cons: Unfortunately, Garden vila was located close to road and carpark, which was extremely noisey
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a perfect 'getaway' holiday. Facilities were great, staff friendly - what more could you ask for?

Adults only, beach and reefPosted Jul 1, 2014
Location: The Cascade Waterfall was the best activity! About 20 minutes bus ride from the hotel, and the sights were amazing.
The Breakkas resort was top notch, the rooms were comfortable, and the resort was lovely. The restaurant was impeccable and the entertainment on the cultural nights was spectacular.

Great location, away from town.Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Great location, pool, bar and ambience. Excellent food, with friendly staff. NO tipping expected. Helpful tour desk. EXCELLENT nightly entertainment.
Cons: Room hot water services (quirky instant gas). Room lighting (too dim). Free wi-fi.
Location: Good beach for relaxation, but not really good for snorkelling, due to strong current at edge of reef. Adjacent restaurant, with free wi-fi.
We had a great relaxing time here - read 3 books, each as unseasonal rain, but was NO problem (June 2014). Only short cheap local bus ride to town, can walk but takes ~ 1 hour. Several local walks amongst VERY safe villages etc. NO hassling by anyone, they are just so friendly and helpful ! Safe to wander anywhere ! Recommend around island tours and snorkeling/diving in VERY clear warm water. Beach front "fares" (rooms) are very well situated, but the other (much cheaper) rooms are well spread throughout the extensive gardens. They are NOT modern, but clean and functional, with thatched roofs. Keep your clothes to a minimum. Sensible "continental" breakfast included. Local water is OK (we found). We found meals and drinks similar to Oz prices, here and at most Vanuatu restaurants. Great market in Port Vila. Probably avoid visiting town when cruise ships docked. Best to take lots of AUD and change there, rather than ATM fees etc. Recommended, particularly now direct flights from Melbourne.

Nice hotel ,friendly staff.Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Beautiful hotel , friendly staff.
Cons: Maybe grow more tree ,you don't see next door .
Location: There is a small Cafe next to the hotel has free WiFi
We stayed at the beachfront fare ,no.11 . Everything was ok. Staff were friendly. Only there is a big tree in front of our hut. So we don't see the beach very well. But there was one thing we didn't like was no privacy . The huts are very closed to each other , so when we sat in our balcony , we saw next door people in their balcony . We were not comfortable watching them . We found some garden fare has more privacy. No Free WiFi.

Nice resort, extremely overpriced toPosted Jun 2, 2014
No issues with the resort in general although after paying for the room I felt all prices would be expected in a resort in a developed nation. One example was meals with locally caught seafood not sure what planet the chef came from but you should not be paying prices expected in restaurants in Australia. Information was not forthcoming and the welcome letter provided little information and had an air of being rushed

Not too close to town but close enoughPosted Jun 1, 2014
A great base for relaxation and a great beach view while being able to easily go to Port Vila to enjoy markets and restaurants. Loved it.

Nice huts on the beachPosted May 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was awesome.
Cons: Since my shower was outside, it was a little uncomfortable when it rained. I'd have liked an indoor shower option.
Location: Learn about the "bus" system. Then do anything you want!
My hut was very nice and everyone on staff that I met was very nice.

Great honeymoon!Posted May 15, 2014
We had an amazing time! The staff were so friendly and helpful, if anything wasn't quite right, they sorted it. The little garden fale was lovely. Yummy food, relaxing atmosphere, the night entertainment was fantastic too. I'd totally recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from the complexities of life and just chill and unwind. Leave the computers and phones at home, enjoy what Vanuatu and Breakas have to offer. If you can't live without aircon and modern 5 star hotel luxuries etc, then Breakas probably isn't for you, don't moan about it afterwards. We loved every minute of it, and wish we could have stayed another week!
