This is a simple property (3 ☆), a short walk from the bus station. And for a tourist? 100 meters to Pula's spectacular Roman Amphitheater, and about the same in the opposite direction to the pedestrian zone of Old Town. If those characteristics suit you, then this is a great choice. The adjacent al fresco restaurant is a gem. I had the house made pasta with Istria ox. Slow-cooked. Literally, the best pasta dish I have had.

Excellent location, on edge of the old town area with many bars & restaurants. Only 1 minute walk to the amphitheatre. The airport shuttle bus stop is approx. 400 metres from the hotel. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Room was basic but comfortable & clean. Buffet breakfast included bacon, eggs & roasted vegetables, fruit, cereal, cold meats & cheeses.

Great hotel, great staff, wonderful people. Car parking right next to the property. Elevator right to the room. Great breakfast and staff. Great signage downtown to locate the property. Overall GREAT STAFF and staff. Only issue, I closed the window and the top window came crashing down on my head. It almost knocked me out. I told the staff at checkout and they were very apologetic and said it would be fixed. Other than that one issue, great location , great everything! ..... Dan

Friendly hotel
We had a lovely stay at the Amfiteater, its a small cosy hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was always fresh and had a good selection. The only downside was our room only had a velux window in the roof, so we had to go downstairs to see what the weather was like, as we were there for a week I feel that we should not have been put in a room with no window. But would stay there again.

Near Amphitheatre and Harbour
Like some others we had problems with the hot water when we arrived which seemed to affect everyone. We told reception and they got someone to investigate and the problem didn't come back for the rest of our stay. The room was comfortable and clean with modern décor and the aircon was essential in the hotter than normal summer. Others had said about the poor view from the economy rooms but there are trees between the hotel and the sea so it doesn't really make any difference which room you have for the view. The staff on reception were very helpful when suggesting places to see during our stay. The restaurant has a well known chef and the food was excellent and reasonably priced with a discount for hotel guests.

You don't get what you paid for!
I booked a supirior double room with the choice of a king size bed and a sea view at an extra cost per night and was given a tiny room (203) with a full size bed there was only one chair when the pictures show two. The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep the first night even though I was exhausted. My husband and I could feel the springs through the mattress which left us in pain. After my 1st night I brought up the room described in my booking itinerary and the receptionist insisted we had the right room since it was facing the ocean, also an issue with that given we couldn't see the ocean at all. We had the complimentary breakfasting once since the food was terrible. We requested extra pillows to sleep on top of since we couldn't find another hotel near by for that weekend which helped. I was upset at the fact that we paid extra for something we did not get and were not able to rest and relax which was the purpose of the vacation. On the bright side the staff were friendly and the room appeared clean.

This hotel was run by very helpful, engaged staff. It was a five minute drive from the airport and a few minutes walk to the ferry port. It was also a block away from the old part of town where one could see the ancient amphitheater and walk through the old streets with their charming restaurants and cafés. The room and lobby were pleasant, comfortable and clean and I had a perfectly good stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Only advantage is location
We booked superior double room with sea view, and what we got was the smallest room (can tell by a fire escape plan) with a tiniest round window. All we could see was a pigeon guard. I called the front desk and a receptionist said it's the same for any room. Service was also slow- expect to wait for 5 minutes or so even when no one is in front of you. The only advantage is location, which is ideal. Heart of the Old Town, close to a ferry to Venice.

Good location
We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was the restaurant The food was good but the menu limited and the same memu for both lu nch and dinner. Afyer a couple of meals there was nothing else that appealed to us so we are elsewhere.

Good location
Nice and close to the ampitheater, about 1 min walk.. good restaurant, also near shopping. Parking was a little tricky to get in the narrow corridor, but worked out fine. Clean rooms, modern, no problem at all. Breakfast was small... but whatever. Feel confident you'll like it.

GLOOMY BUT CENTRAL
I wrote to the hotel before my arrival asking for a room on a high floor and with a pleasant view. I was told, firmly and politely, that I had not booked a special view, those being rooms with a sea view. That was true, though the room I had booked was described on the Hotels.com booking form as having a "park view". On arrival, the first non-smoking room I was offered smelled of cigarettes and I asked for a different one which was readily given me by reception. Both rooms were described as "Park view", but that meant "Car park view". You looked out over the back of a block of flats behind, and their car park. If you leaned out of the window and looked away to the right you could look over some houses and see the tops of trees in a public open space nearby. If that is your idea of a park view you will like it here. There are rooms at the front of the building (described as "sea view") which do overlook a park or at least some trees and face towards the sea. I do not know whether you can in fact see the sea from those rooms. NB the booking also promised a "Welcome Gift Upon Arrival ". If there was one, I did not notice it. The room was decorated in a mid grey and green and the windows were relatively small. So it was rather dark and I found it depressing. The room was dominated rather by the large television set which was fixed to the foot of the bed and divided the sitting/ wardrobe half of the room from the sleeping half. All TV channels were in Croatian. There was no residents lounge though there was a restaurant. At night the smoke alarm flashed dimly though continually, and the light switch over the bed turned into a night light, so one was bathed in blue light. Breakfast from the small cold buffet was adequate. Dining room was pleasant enough. Plus points: § central location § bright bathroom, large shower area, heated towel rail § lots of storage space § it is all new - though judging by the marks that will not last long I did not like the hotel and cut short my planned stay, though charitable readers will wish to note that was in part down to continual rain and the off-season transport connexions out of Pula being worse than expected. The reception staff took the cancellation calmly and processed it efficiently and fairly. I have stayed happily in far worse places. I think I would have found the decor depressing in any event. But really the hotel oversold itself on the booking website (its own website makes no such claims, and shows pictures of rooms with brighter decor) and underdelivered. And that is always a bad move.

A very nice hotel in Pula
We are a young couple who travelled backpack. The staff at the Amfiteatre Hotel was extremelly helpful and very friendly. The hotel offers breakfast and has a nice little patio restaurant. They are well priced for what they offer. We stayed in Pula for 3 nights and came back for one night after a 3 night trip to Rovinj and day trip to Porec. THe first 3 nights, room was a good size, comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and good size as well. The second stay, we have a gorgeous room that was very spacious. Both rooms very clean, well maintained. The rooms are quiet. The hotel is very very well located. You can see the Amfiteatre from the Hotel, hence its name. It offers a sea view. Close to bus station, close to centre town. The town is beautiful and offers lots of history. We loves our stay in the Amfiteatre.
