Excellent, superb 100/100
Lovely country pub in the heart of Oakhill. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the landlord is a real gem. Food was well priced and excellent quality l, breakfast was also super. Met friends for dinner and it all arrived timely on warm plates. Can’t fault the place and I will definitely stay again. 10/10 any day.

Recent stay at Oakhill inn
Online the Oakhill inn looked amazing, modern vintage. However, when we arrived, I was quite disappointed. We were given a room at the front of the property and it was very dark with the navy painted on the walls. There was only one full length mirror and no dressing table as we saw in all the other rooms advertised on the website, which was disappointing as I feel it had so much potential but seemed very outdated and dark and depressing. It did cross my mind to ask if we could have another room, however earlier that week when ringing to confirm our booking i was told the Inn was fully booked, so didn’t wish to waste my time asking. The bathroom was lovely, fairly new. However in the morning when my partner used the shower, it was ice cold and at one point we couldn’t flush the toilet which wasn’t great! The remote control for the TV did not work and throughout the night we had a cold draft come in from the window. However, the bed was very comfy and we had a good night sleep. Apart from the cars going past in the country lane. Staff seemed relatively helpful but upon leaving in the morning the send off wasn’t has cheerful just a simple “safe trip” which was quite disappointing as using a small family run business we expected more of a connection with the staff which didn’t really seem the case. The location was okay, quite far from anywhere so if you wish to visit a neighbouring village maybe try a big chain hotel as it was £40 taxi to bath one way!

A lovely friendly Inn. Charming helpful staff and happy relaxed atmosphere. Very good breakfast and much appreciated for letting us have it later than usual.

The room was just what I needed it to be and was very nicely styled, the price was good and the breakfast in the morning was superb, the bed and floor was a bit creaky but the stay was overall enjoyable, would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good quality overnight stay in the area

Christmas market break
Used as a base for the Bath Christmas market. Good access to buses to get not the city, bus 174 every hour from the bus stop nearly opposite. £6.50 single presently. only down side is service finishes at 8pm at weekends and we ended up getting a taxi which isn't too bad f you have enough people (£45). Obviously you could drive in and park the n a normal day but not when the market takes over for a couple of weeks. Hotel itself was very nice and old fashioned. Only a few rooms for accommodation, well appointed and nice and traditional in style. Very good service and friendly staff. Good wi fi in hotel itself, less so in rooms. Freshly cooked breakfast was very nice offering full English, but also some salmon options. Evening meal was also good although two of us had the pie which unfortunately was overdone but otherwise nice. The location is a village with no amenities close by. There is a small car park but room for on street parking and a nearby surgery car park can also be used. All in all very good value and will return.

We had a very mixed experience at the Oakhill Inn. The staff were all wonderful and very friendly and it was nice to feel the history of the Inn, but the sleeping room had challenges. There is no A/C so we needed to have the window open, and the street right outside had cars going by at 60+ miles an hour all night long. Plus a street light across the road was blindingly bright. We could have closed the window and drapes but then there was no air. So we didn't get much sleep. The first night our door handle fell off on the inside of the room, and it took us a while to be able to get out, so we had to keep the door slightly open all the time--also not great for sleeping. They said they repaired it, but it fell off again the next day. There is free wifi but it didn't reach our room, so we had to go downstairs or stand in the hall to check email or go online. The cooked breakfast was good, and the staff great, but we probably would not return.

Great place to stay, management and staff made you feel at home, very friendly and good food. Own car park. great advantage. Itend to go back and stay again. Good location for trips into Bath via the Park and Ride. Loved the Brass Bed, old world feel.

Booked this stay based on 4* rating and it was not cheap Thought that was a good guide to the standard I could expect... This definitly is not a 4* - parts not even 2* WIFI didn't work No sound on the TV Woke up to find no milk for a tea Breakfast area piled with rubbish Otherwise, staff very pleasant

outside the hotel looks appealing. multifuel stove in bar and very busy. the bed was comfortable, the room was tired, tv too small, bathroom walls looked like they had been sprayed with water and all the runs down the wall left to dry. general cleanliness of the room and bathroom shower, together with shabby furniture were not good.

Nice Road Trip Inn
We stayed at this hotel just for one night. It's really cozy and they keep it really clean. The downstairs is a pub and the food is really good. We really enjoyed the tasty full English breakfast. Personnel were friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a nice stay, although it reminds more of a bed and breakfast rather than a 4 star hotel.

Comfortable room, nice staff. A bit noisy from the road from early but you expect that with any room in a country inn when you've got the window wide open. Food really nice in the evening and breakfast which had to be ordered night before(locally sourced - bacon and sausages very tasty, and the scrambled egg/smoked salmon breakfast looked great too) with good selection of beer/cider/wine behind the bar- would stay again

Some very good points some less good. Overall okay
The shower was lovely. The towels were great. The room was very nice. We were in room 5 and the bed was a too small to be comfortable for two people. The view from our room was attractive over a church and graveyard. The service was not great, the food was nice but on a Saturday night at 7pm (so not late) there was no pie of the day, no pizza, only one hamburger left and the only fish left was haddock. The Guinness was nice though.

Beautiful relaxed hotel with great food
Not sure if I should share the wonders of this hotel as don’t want everyone else going there, especially not to stay in Room 1, which is where I have just spent two wonderful nights! Considering it was a work trip, having such friendly and relaxed staff really helped focus my mind and prepare me for a busy week.

Hotel is clearly a community gathering place. Lovely to see dogs so welcome. It is an old well worn hotel the staff are friendly and the room was basic with old furniture but there were thoughtful touches such as a chocolate on the pillow and great big fluffy towels.

Country visit.
It was a wonderful escape in a small town Beautiful public trails and 20 minutes from Bath park and ride. Excellent pub and restaurant. A little noisy from the road.
