Property wasn’t the location i had booked, the accommodations were moved to a different hotel next door with people my room moving about shaking our room, broken glass in the parking lot that was already full of potholes. Room wasn’t clean, trash from the last guests were still there and crumbs were in the bed.

NO ONE TOLD US
when er arrived we found that the City of Rapid City had closed this hotel down due to multiple code violations. we had made our reservations a couplr of months in advance. Imagine our reaction to drive up after a long days travel with tired grandchildren to find we had no place to stay. As there was some type of convention going on most hotels in the vincinty were full. If we had been notified we could have made other reservations. This hotel had been closed for over a month. A BOUGHT lesson is a lesson well learned. Always check your reservations a week or so before you go. NO one notified us!

When we entered the property, the side door was propped open with a rock since the door was out of order. When we got to our room, the door was open. We figured out that the door did not fully close when let go, it had to be pulled shut. These two items did not make us feel safe. The room itself was clean. The complementary breakfast was ok, no meat was served.

The rooms had a funny smell to them, and the phones were broken. No buttons were on them when I tried to call the front desk to ask a question the TV remote was broken so we couldn’t watch the news when we got back to our room which I guess that’s not a big deal we could look it up on our phones, but we just wanted to relax and watch a little TV when we got back from our day. One of the rooms had a very strong odor, and we tried everything we could to dissipated, and nothing was working. When checking in I tried telling the person I had three reservation numbers and instead she asked my name and two were under my name, and one was under my dad‘s name and she was rude when I she tried to tell me I had two rooms when I did have three booked together. Also, the breakfast was terrible. There was no flavor to it and the only thing we ate was maybe some toast before we left for the day.

Some attention needed
The hotel is clean and staff is excellent. Good location, close to gas stations, restaurants and drugstore. The rooms need some attention. The last time we stayed here the carpeting was torn in two places. This time the bathroom door was broken and would not close. The owner needs to fix the maintenance items or we will not be able to stay here again. Its really too bad. We like the hotel.

This property is old and dirty! The room smelled damp and dirty, the lamp didnt work, the bathroom vanity light cover was missing, the shower/tub water would not fully turn off, the picture over the bed was gone (empty screws on the wall!), and the carpet and chairs in the room were filthy.

Don’t expect great service, or anyone to answer.
I have a neutral rating for everything because we didn’t actually stay at this hotel. We experienced a catastrophic mechanical issue and were unable to make our stay. When I called to let the hotel know, I spoke to someone whose English was so poor we struggled to understand each other. He did say he would talk to a manager about waiving the no-show fee, and that the manager would call me back. I never received a call. When I tried to call back and talk to someone, the phone just rang and rang. The only communication I ever got from them was a charge on my credit card for the stay we couldn’t make. The negative service experience rating is based on my inability to even communicate with hotel staff to make my case. While I understand it was their right to charge me for the stay, I also consider it poor customer service in a situation that was beyond my control. Above and beyond is not a thing to expect at this hotel; even communicating is apparently a struggle for them, so I can’t even say they do the bare minimum. I will avoid booking Quality Inns in the future. It was terrible experience at a stressful time.

This is an overall disappointing hotel. They did not have the following: a pack-and-play for my infant daughter, a working hot tub (previous reviews have shown it to be out of order for over a year!), a microwave to heat up food, and adequate cleaning services. Our curtains were ripped, light bulbs in our room did not work, and there were stains on the bed sheets. I also did not feel safe here. Guests were constantly propping doors open with rocks (probably because their outside doors were out of order), there were large pictures that were not hung up on the wall properly (could have fallen on my 10 year old daughter) and we occasionally smelled weed or heard very noisy guests. I will give the woman behind the front desk credit because she did give me access to the kitchen to heat up my food, but this shouldn't be an issue if the hotel would provide consistent amenities. I will not be staying here again until the maintenance and management gets their sh!t together to fix these inconveniences for their guests.

We've stayed at quality inn's before and this one was very disappointing. The hotel was not very clean, we had to change our own trash, and we had to ask them for clean towels. We stayed for 5 nights, and we had to ask them to clean our room. Our room smelled like mildew. The breakfast was not pleasing either.

We picked this room because of the good reviews. I’m not sure who is rating this place highly. Our first room smelled terrible, wasn’t clean, and was falling apart (literally stuff hanging from ceiling, wallpaper pealing etc ) thankfully they got us a different room, and that smelled better. The property must be old and is in desperate need of a remodel. No elevator, which may be an issue for people with mobility issues. One of the stairway doors was out of order, the bathtub plug wouldn’t hold water, the shower head sprayed outside the bath area by a lot (couldn’t adjust the shower head pattern), the breakfast was out of simple things like milk, eggs, etc. I don’t normally rate stays, but I felt someone should let others know this place isn’t living up to the glowing reviews. I just don’t understand unless maybe our wing isn’t renovated and other wings are ?? I’d pay $100 to stay here but it isn’t worth much more from what we’ve seen.

RC Quality Inn & Suites
This Hotel in Rapid City,SD is one of the ones that I would stay at again & again! Everything is very Clean & has no real bossy message anywhere in the building. Like one place the message at the desk says hang up your towels & reuse if staying more than one day.
