Property was very clean. Parking is a little cramped in the day as it is a tourist attraction as well. Breakfast was good. Traditional German style food. Staff was friendly enough. English German and Spanish were all spoken when we were there. Room was very clean.

A surprisingly good place to discover
A surprising place. The hotel is a restored medieval fortified settlement in a valley with three castles perched on the mountains above. Huge Tibetan suspension bridge spanned the valley directly over the hotel and a new glass lift took you to the bridge and the large medieval castle. Positives included EV charging points and a large restaurant. Our room had an attractive balcony overlooking the restored little church. Delightful.

Amazing get away.
Nice hotel in amazing location. Rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent starting point for hiking and biking. And dont forget to visit the nearby bridge and castle.

No Construction Please!
There was construction during the day hours that we would have liked to know about before choosing the hotel. We were looking for a quiet get away which we did not quite get. They did move us to the farthest room from the work, which was helpful. Room was nice although the beds we so so.

This property was such a wonderful surprise. We had no idea the hotel was set in a tiny redone mid-evil town. It was adorable! It was great for a family. We stayed there while we visited Neuschwanstein castle. It was perfect for 2 nights. The restaurant on site is perfect for dinner and breakfast. Its nice that its right there. There was a great playground for the kids too. A small church to see and the suspension bridge is very cool too. There is a museum and ice cream shop. It has everything you need all in 1 easy spot. Very clean and super friendly and accommodating staff. Great food too. It was a fantastic experience.

Charming inn between two ancient castles
This charming inn is located on a historic Roman route through the Alps, with the ruins of two ancient castles in the hills above. An amazing cable suspension pedestrian bridge links the castles and runs directly over the hotel. Amazing Alpine views, incredible hiking, spacious accommodations and good food just minutes outside of Reutte, Austria.

Active location on outskirts of Reutte.
Busy tourist spot outside of town. The high-line bridge is in the middle of the property. Unfortunately the lift broke during our visit and we didn’t see the castle ruins or go across the bridge. The manager was fantastic and accommodating.

This is s beautiful area, the hotel is clean, and comfortable with great food. Everyone here was very helpful and kind. I recommend a stop for the night!

This was our second visit to this hotel. The location is amazing and the hotel is beautiful. The restaurant food is excellent although this time around our server was a bit rude. Overall a fantastic place directly below highline 179 with views of castles and mountains.

This hotel is wonderfully located near the ruins of Ehrenberg Castle and numerous hiking trails. The museum and restaurant are extremely child-friendly, and they have one of the best playgrounds I have ever seen. This hotel is located in a recreation/tourist area. Though there are many German tourists here, but you won't meet any locals, except the staff of course. This is a great place for a family or even romantic get away if outdoorsy things/hiking is what you enjoy.

Not at all what we were expecting from the hotel website. On arrival not at all clear where to go; the hotel itself was locked and when we eventually found out where to go, in the Salt Barn, there was no one there. Food was disappointing; evening meal was bland and not a great deal of choice at breakfast. The hotel is set in a valley which is geared towards walkers, families with a variety of physical activities; not a one-night stop en route, which is what we were expecting. Very over-priced, particularly the food whose price tag was not reflected in either taste or quality. If you drive in to the valley and miss the hotel you have to make a circuit of several kilometres to get back to it again as after a while the road becomes one-way. The most expensive hotel we stayed at and definitely not worth the money.

Wonderful hotel!
Very kind staff, clean room, and great location! We stayed one night, and in the morning hiked up to the castle ruin (20 minute uphill hike) then crossed the high line 179 bridge (8 euro’s per person). We really enjoyed our stay here.

ended up in Austria:
we stayed in two 5 star hotels, Basel and Frankfort. This hotel, although rustic, compared favorably in every respect except size. It was small and quaint. I screwed up the booking by one day short, and they accommodated me by extended my stay in the same room. Very gracious of them because it was on a German holiday weekend and they were almost totally booked. The surrounding area and I mean within 500 meters, contained a castle, high suspension bridge and good restaurant and small chaple Where was even a wedding there for our entertainment. Food was interesting, good but more ethnic that in the five star hotels. This was an added bonus because we had our 9 year old granddaughter with us.

Arrive in the daylight
It was hard to find in the dark, as there are no streetlights. When we got there, the reception was hidden inside the restaurant - and that was in a separate building. Once we were checked in, it was a pleasant experience, with a comfortable room and a decent breakfast.

We loved the remote location. It was a bit farther from the Königschlosse than others may think optimal, but we intentionally chose a more remote location to have quieter nights and to give us greater access to hiking.

The area surrounding this hotel is magnificent. The hotel itself is tucked away off the beaten path making it seem that much more romantic. It was a little difficult figuring out where to find the check in because it is located in the restaurant. But the staff was friendly, they even brought us directly to our room personally. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious!! The wine was good as well. The only drawback was that the restaurant (and hotel check in) are located in a different building from the rooms and it was POURING rain! We got completely soaked unloading the car and walking to and from.

Great location at the bottom of some great hiking trails that lead to the suspension bridge and three castle ruins. Views were amazing from the top! Restaurant on premise was very good and service was great. Room was spacious for a family of 6 with kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet room. We rented a large apartment with an additional adjoining room. Plenty of space to move around. Could get a bit noisy with traffic from the road nearby but not a huge problem. We were exhausted from the hikes and slept soundly. Parking was easy. Area gets crowded during the day as people flock to experience the suspension bridge. Worth a car ride into the surrounding towns for restaurants and taking a dip in the frigid lake with the most beautiful blueish green colored water at the base of the mountains. Skip the tourist trap at Fussen to see the castles. It's crowded and the castle has been renovated with more sound construction that takes away any old charm feel. Traffic was ridiculous in this area.

Amazing place for a family to stay!
Really a neat place to stay with kids. The hotel has a restaurant, an armoury museum (which we didn't visit but which looked interesting), and a really great playground. Best of all, it's at the base of a mountain which has an ancient fort at the top! A 15 minute hike up the mountain takes you to the fort, which is completely open to explore. We actually enjoyed this fort more than we enjoyed Schloss Neuschwanstein! A veeeeeery long suspension bridge goes from the top of that mountain to the top of the mountain across the valley (entrance ticket required for this). A great place for families to spend a fun day in Austria.

I was charged an extra 60 Euro when I checked out! What is going on with this hotel? I had the breakfast for 2 adults (7 * 2 = 14) and 2 kids ( 4 * 2 = 8) so why was I charged an additional 40 euro????

Our family of six loved our stay! We rented a two bedroom apartment, it was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the museum and hiking to the castles. We also had a nice time with the kids at the local thermal bath. We would definitely visit again.

Very Nice Location
The room was clean and comfortable. the staff was very friendly. The hotel is on the same property as a major attraction with 3 castle ruins (including Ehrenberg), a museum and a suspension bridge across the gorge ( The Highline). All of these were worth a visit and totally convenient to the hotel. The room did not have air conditioning but that was not a problem during our stay in early May. We left the window to our balcony open and stayed very comfortable. There are several nice restaurants in the area. Breakfast at the hotel was fully adequate. We would recommend this hotel due to its location and price. The grounds of the tourist attraction were a little busy during the day but all was quiet at night.

The hotel was very nice. You drive under the suspension bridge and past the museum to find it. The view of the valley and castles is gorgeous. Check-in for the hotel is located inside the restaurant. The individual that check us in was very helpful and showed us to our room and where we could park. The room that we stayed in was very clean and had recently been remodeled. The accommodations were excellent. Their were plenty of dishes available to use in the kitchen. We marked down the staff because no one was available when we were trying to check out even though someone was suppose to be there to run the restaurant and work the desk. Another couple at the hotel had prepaid for their breakfast, but had to leave before anyone showed up. The staff member was also very inattentive and kept walking away while I was trying to check out, which lead to further frustration. This was the only problem I had at the hotel.

Hotel is located near city of Reutte inside a museum location and near access to Highline 179. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is fine and also restaurant has quality food for lunch and dinner. Very busy restaurant during lunch time. Personnel is very attentive with customers. Overall it was a very pleasant vacation.

wow! what a great place to stay once you find it. a bit tricky to locate but fantastic location. lots to see and do nearby. castles to explore and highline 179 just a 15 minute hike up the mountain. fantastic breakfast and great service. very friendly owners. would definitely recommend.

Rustic and charming in midst of Alpen Panorama
The location is breathtaking in an Alpen valley. The condos and rooms and in a rustic, historical, typical campus. We book based on price and space availability for a family of six with small children. The location and its beauty was an amazing bonus for a quick overnight in between location stops on a budget large American family dream vacation to Europe with a rental car.
