The room I got was really small and the bed sunk so it wasn't comfortable all. I got used to it though as day goes by but I don't think I'll be back in this hostel. I also got one tiny pillow that of no use coz there's barely any cushion in it. I don't think I got my money's worth.

Nice room, but watch the extra charges per person
The accommodations were clean and comfortable.However, it was hard to understand why an advertised four person room was cheaper for two people to rent than four.

Horrible hostel
Horrible place. They don’t have proper toilets. The shared toilets are small and crappy. And not very clean. There was a blackout that started somewhere in the middle of the night. It lasted till we were leaving in the morning. We had to get ready for the day in the dark. A very horrible experience.The bedding was very uncomfortable.

I stayed at Reykjavik Hostel Village for a few nights before commencing a tour around Iceland. The Village is well located only a few minutes walk from the Main Street of Reykjavík. The staff were very friendly and I found the room to be quiet and dark at night. It is easy to pay $200USD for a night at an average hotel in Reykjavík so I think Reykjavík Hostel Village represents great value for money. For something a bit different, visit Sundhöllin which is only a few minutes away. It is the local pools, with sauna and geothermal spas which was very relaxing after a long day. Overall, a great stay. Cheers!

The listing didn't mention the bathrooms are shared (between 4-5 rooms). Check in was so bad with limited reception and not enough direction when they left the keys (had to ask strangers in the street to find out the room location :|) The reception guy was nice enough to let us use the kitchen before check in, but when we checked in later, we found out what a horrible place this is. Other than not enough direction and no mention of shared bathrooms, rooms were tiny with weird towels, toilet smell in all hallways, bed sheets were put in a sloppy way (hope they actually cleaned them...)

Good place to stay in a good location.
Nice place, overall OK, the bed was maybe old and not that comfortable. I liked the kitchen. The location walking distance to the centre of Reykjavik is very convenient.

First time in hostel and I was a bit disappointed. Room has been very dirty, bad smell all over. I didn't use the bathroom as it was too dirty and smelly. Staff was ok, send upfront lots of helpful information about the property.

I really liked he location of the property and also it was fun to meet the people in the room. We all hit it off and hope to keep in touch. The hardest part is that everyone has different schedules and plans so it can get noisy at times. I would stay there again.

Average hostel.
I traveled solo for 3 nights. From KEF airport you get dropped at stop 11 which is 5 min away by foot. The main lobby is in the flokagata 1 but from there I was assigned a room on a house next door. First thing I noticed is the doorknob in the house next door DOES NOT LOCK PROPERLY which means even though the door is closed it is always accessible to open from anyone outside. I was given a single room (which is the one I booked). The only things that I had in my room were the bed, a nightstand, a small fridge and a handwash. The room was small but for 1 person was just enough. There were no tables to put my baggage on so everything was on the floor. The bathrooms are really smalls. When you are doing your thing there is not even enough room to comfortably wipe your behind. I did not use the showers because every morning I headed to a swimming pool. There is a kitchen area with many dishwares. You have many bus stops nearby at around a 5 min walk. Google maps is your best option here to tell you which bus to take in which stop. There is an ATM 3 mins away. You have a restaurant called roadhouse just in front of the street. The center of the city is at a 10 min walk. Perfect for a solo traveler but not for families.

The check-in person was friendly and the cleaning staff was really nice and clearly working very hard! However, overall the hostel was not very clean. We were upgraded at the last minute to a room with a private kitchen (which was nice of the staff to do) but the kitchen had some dishes that weren't clean and had no dish soap, so we couldn't really use it. Also the bathroom wasn't clean with hairs and dirty cups, plus no hand soap. We felt a little uncomfortable and ended up just using the communal kitchen instead of our private one. Also, check-in was delayed and we ended up having to store our bags and quickly change in a dirty room then leave so that the cleaners could finish up. Overall the staff were friendly but organization and cleanliness needs some work.

Clean, lovely and snug and comfy bed. Not quite as picture but had everything it said it would. Good location with regards to getting into the town and the pick up bust stop was only a short walk down the road, overall, a great experience, thank you.

The staff is really nice. Very prectical in case you arrive late or before the check in time. Rooms are super basic. I stayed in a single bed room, which didn´t have even a glass for water. The room didn't have courtains, 2 out of 3 rooms had no toilet paper and no light. In case you need some place just to sleep, this should be ok, but I think there are some things that even the most basic place must have.

Our kitchen is well equipped and you can take a glass from there if need it. About a 10 minute walk to the main area with restaurants, cafes and shops and about 15 minute walk to the waterfront. Room was pretty clean. I liked how the single bed room had a mini fridge, kettle and sink. The full kitchen in my building was clean and well equipped. One of the showers on my floor didn't drain well but I just used the other one the next day.

Awesome, clean, quiet hostel near downtown Reyk
Had a great stay here and would definitely recommend to other travelers. Especially the upstairs apartment room if you have two or three people traveling together! The staff are very helpful and friendly, willing to help out in any way they can. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies to cook your own meal, and the location is great for walking to the lively downtown. I had a great stay at this hostel with my mom. Since my flight arrived really early in the morning, I was able to relax in the lounge area and have a shower before checking in.
