Lets start with the bad, the bad is we stayed at 401 and there is no elevator so I had to carry our luggage all the way up to 4th floor. When we got to the room, took a shower and drain clogged right away which means they did not clean the drain down below properly. They were very attentive and very good at communicating so they took care and sent someone right away but unfortunately we could not let them in because we were so tired from our flight. The pros is everything is walkable here. If you take tours, the main bus stops are walkable. Shops and restaurants all over. They also provided kitchen items and toileties and was very generous amount which we like. They also respond very quickly even days before our check in. Overall, I would recommend this for the service and value.

After staying in a camper for 6 days we were excited to have our own bathroom and bed. The place was clean but the electricity was not on when we got there. Also the bathroom shower gets water all over the bathroom it doesn’t quite drain correctly. The bed was also two twins pushed together not the queen we thought it was. The parking was also deceiving because it said free parking but that’s only with certain units. We had to park about a 10 min walk for the free parking. The location was fantastic and the staff did respond quickly to any questions.

2 night stay
The hotel was fine. We unfortunately had the top floor. Best views but tricky humping your luggage up the winding stairs. Never saw anyone working there. Check in and out was easy. Thankfully through emails we were able to get our room 2 hours earlier. Free parking is pretty much not happening unless you get lucky or rent the 4 person room. If you can get by without a car it will be less stressful in the city.There is a nail spa on the ground floor of this building. Had a great massage there!!

Good apartment in a good location
Great location on the main restaurant and shopping street in Reykjavik. Close to the action without being disturbed by it. The studio apartment was very clean and well equipped.

The location was excellent for exploring downtown Reykjavik, the apartment was cosy, clean and modern. The kitchen was well stocked and was perfect for our trip. The shower was always piping hot, and the bed was super comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay
Great location in walking distance to downtown bars and restaurants. Nicely decorated and cleanly kept space with easy communication, check in and check out. Parking available on premise and around the area on the street. Would definitely recommend.

Svala Apartments
The staff are on-hand via email. They informed us of bad weather conditions to keep us safe during our stay, and had provided a booklet of good places to buy groceries, where to eat etc. The apartment is clean and presentable. A well-stocked kitchen with all the utensils you need to cook. Warm beds, seating area, TV with Netflix for the evenings, hot shower. Very good location in one of the main shopping areas but not overly noisy. Would recommend to others.

The driveway is impossible to navigate and people illegally park in the lot frequently. Great if you didn’t rent a car and if you do I hope it’s a smart car. The apartment was pleasant however a lot of construction going on

Svala Apartments are the perfect home away from home for your stay in Reykjavik. So clean and modern with every amenity you could need or think of. The location is wonderful in the main shopping/ restaurant area of the city and very close walk to Bus Stop Number 10 for all your airport transfers/ day trips. Bonus supermarket is also only a few minutes away so you can make use of the small kitchen during your stay. Although my apartment faced the main street, I slept incredibly well in the comfortable bed and hardly heard a noise. Ingi and Andrea were very prompt answering any emails before my arrival and I had no need to contact them during my stay as everything this was wonderful. I would highly recommend Svala Apartments!

Freedom to enjoy our hotel as if it was our very own home from home, I emailed one of the staff members about a parking place and because they was very nice they managed to fit us in. Would stay again

Great start to Iceland
Perfect location for someone wanting to walk to everything. Could be loud at night as it is on the main shopping street. Loved our stay there and recommend to anyone. Parking can be a bit expensive in the parking garage down the street. So if you are there for some time the bigger suites with the onsite parking may be worth the extra money. Would recommend checking out the “free” citywalk tour. Easy walking distance and get to see a bunch of Reykjavík.

Excellent stay at Svala Apartments (Unit 301)
Highly recommend the Svala Apartments if you’re visiting Iceland and planning to be based in Reykjavík! Our unit (301) was the perfect size for 2 people, everything was clean and there are nice big windows (which let in a lot of light when you want them to - otherwise, the blackout curtains are perfect for blocking the midnight sun). Also very conveniently located - we were able to walk all around downtown and easily catch our tour buses at bus stop 10. The self-check-in with door/key codes is also really easy - it’s always nice not to worry about losing or accidentally deactivating a physical key. If I make it back to Reykjavík, will certainly stay at Svala Apartments again!

Fantastic apartment
Fantastic clean apartment close to all the shops and restaurants. Great place to have a base from with a local bus stop available for any booked trips or airport transfers. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay.

Excellent location which suited our family perfectly. We stayed in 2 of the apartments and couldn't fault them. Restaurants and shops very handy nearby. A very short walk to bus stop 10 where we were picked up for various tours.

nice location right in the center of town only complain is have to walk up and down 4 floors of stairs 3 times to carry all my luggage into the apartment, other than that everything was great.

Centrally located, close to bus stop 10 (5 minute walk) - where tour groups are picked up from. Close to restaurants and shops. BSI AND Reykjavik bus terminals are a £10 taxi ride away if needed.

It was in the middle of the shopping area and perfect location near the bus station. This made it easier to catch the bus for trips around Iceland.

Wegen Self Check-in und Check-out gibt es keine Rezeption, was ich aber gut und praktisch finde. Es ist zentral gelegen, das Zimmer und Bad war sauber, praktisch und modern. Das Vorhandensein einer Kochmöglichkeit und eines Kühlschranks ist super. Ich würde es sofort wieder buchen.
