This is a nice cosy cottage in a good location for visiting some of North Yorkshire attractions. The village pub is currently closed, but there is a pub located in the next village. We used it one of the three nights that we had the cottage. I would use this cottage and visit the pub again.

Comfy cosy cottage
Cute cosy cottage for a couple or even on your own. Beautiful little village with very friendly residents. Perfect for a secluded quiet getaway also a perfect base to visit the surrounding attractions and activities. Lovely walks through Hackfall woods which is a couple of minutes walk away from the cottage. Communication with the owners was first class. Highly recommended

Weekend getaway
The cottage was lovely and had all the from home essentials we could need. The cottage was cozy and a good size for a couple and pet. We really enjoyed our stay and walks around Hackfall we hope to be able to stay again in the area as there is much more to explore.

Location was good. Cottage itself was tired, dated and in a state of disrepair. Evidence of water leak in bedroom ceiling, stale smell, broken and hanging off edging in bathroom, lots of spiders and webs, constant noise from pub, day and night. Sofa under the stairs, so constantly banging head. Bed makes non stop squeaking noises and wasn’t comfortable. Not the cosy comfortable cottage we expected!

Too small and cold
The property was in a nice location and during the summer would be ok. But as a winter property it was too cold. The fire looked cosy but didn't stay alight for long and the wood was damp so caused smoke and fumes which made us cough. The bathroom was fine but the bedroom was too small for a double bed and if you have to get up in the night to use the loo you are ckimbing over each other and waking each other. My husband is tall so I took the end of the sofa nearest the slanted ceiling and was fed up bumping my head !! After two nights we'd had enough and left for home !!!

We are very sorry that the cottage did not meet your expectations. We were surprised to read your review, as you made no attempt to contact us during your stay. We would happily have come over to address the issues with heating. All of the radiators in the house are adjustable by guests. It was simply a matter of changing the thermostat setting to increase the output. We have had many guests who have stayed in the cottage during cold weather and commented on how cosy they have been. The cost of heating is included in the rental. If the wood burning stove is used as intended with the door closed it cannot create smoke in the house. Instructions were included in the welcome pack, but again we would have happily come over to help with this.

Great location
The cottage is only steps from the village pub which is very welcoming and serves great food and drink. Grewelthorpe is a very pretty village which is centrally located for exploring the beautiful surrounding villages and countryside.

Wonderful Cottage
We loved our stay in this lovely little cottage. Everything was clean and new and we could tell that a lot of thought had gone into getting the cottage ready - it had everything we needed. Such a peaceful location and great for exploring the local area. We walked down the road to the duck pond and bought some hand-painted souvenir stones. The wood-burning stove was delightful and the bed very comfortable. We went to Masham, Brimham Rocks, Hackfall Woods, Hawes, Ribblehead Viaduct and White Scar Cave. We will definitely be back!

The perfect getaway
This cottage was everything that I had hoped it would be - cosy, convenient, clean and beautifully presented. It is located in beautiful Grewelthorpe, close to the fantastic Hackfall and Himalayan Gardens and nearby to Masham, Ripon and Harrogate. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and had clearly put a lot of work into the cottage to make it so welcoming. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer as it really felt like a 'home from home'.

Lovely, cosy cottage in idyllic setting.
Thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights in this very cosy cottage. Mrs Thompson responded promptly to requests for further information when booking the cottage and she made us a very welcome home made cake on arrival. The cottage was warm and cosy and has just been renovated so everything was brand new, beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. Well equipped. Very comfy bed, which is often not the case in holiday cottages we have stayed in. Idyllic setting. Grewlthorpe was amidst with daffodils. We had a delightful dog walk in Hackfall and the bluebells were just coming out. The Crown Inn is a great pub and serves good beer. Dogs welcome. We will be back as have so much left to explore in this beautiful corner of Dales.
