Room 214 needs a makeover. Carpet ripples, bed smells, pillows are old and tiny, mattresses bad, Chair was so dirty I would not put my suitcase on it much less sit in it, We have stayed here 2 times previously (once for a week) and never had a room this bad.

The property is very dated. Our room appeared clean but we had problems with ants. They only offer housekeeping on request. We were told to place our trash outside our room. On arrival I asked if we could check in early, the response was “maybe”. I wasn’t asked for any ID when I checked in and was given keys to the room without explanation of where the room was or best place to park and enter. All other interactions with the front desk were friendly and helpful.

We are a simple family that don’t need much when we travel so we appreciate these places because they’re inexpensive and if we were to need anything from room service, there’s no issue with getting the things that we need. We appreciate the guest house in and we definitely will be coming back when we return to Rochester.

We had an easy check in and out. Place was clean other than some dirt still in bathtub. The main issie was the overwhelming smell of marijuana the instant we walked in and throughout the halls. In the room was ok. Clerk was friendly and helpful.

We have used this hotel frequently for medical appointments at Mayo Clinic. The shuttle service is excellent and appreciated. The front desk is always helpful. Some of the beds are a little more comfortable than others, but still do the job. We have no complaints other than the bathroom fans need an upgrade. We appreciate Guesthouse Rochester!

My last stay there
Room was OK. BUT, the pool should have been closed! Once again, the hot tub was not even warm and the pool was scummy! Maintain the area appropriately or close it! Excuses have worn thin. Once again, the key cards had to be re-keyed on day 2. These excuses have also worn thin. We have stayed there multiple times over the last 10 years, but, this will be the last.

I would never come to this property again. I booked it because you gave it a four star rating and the description sounded great but nothing was working at the hotel in the two rooms they gave me to try and the phones weren't working and so I couldn't contact them to let them know And had to walk downstairs to the front desk to tell them about things that weren't working. The front desk person promised to come up and fix things, but never showed up all night long. Horrible.

The property was fine, just needed some cleaning, the carpets were filthy both times we stayed there. The first time when we walked across the carpet it was sticky and the last time the carpet was very dirty as in dirt.

Staff were friendly but had continued computer issues which delayed check in & out. Expedia indicated on website they had extra rollaway beds-they don’t. We had a small dog and were assigned an outdated room in the backend of the building then added additional cost for pet (not noted in restrictions when registering online.) I will likely never stay here again.

Freda,I am so sorry for the delays for the computer issues we were experiencing during your stay. Hopefully they have those resolved now so we can get you checked in and out quicker. I did look at the Expedia website and I could not find anywhere where they indicate that we have roll away beds, also it does say the pet fee is 25 per night in pet friendly rooms. Again, sorry for the confusion.
