I was quite disappointed in the room and the overall appearance of the hotel, it just felt dirty. In the room, the t.v console was missing the veneer on one of the legs, the closet was missing one of the siding mirror doors. Although the bed was comfortable and the shower had a good force of water coming out it.The elevator floor/carpet should have been replaced awhile ago. The attention to detail was lacking along with pride of appearance. Now, mind you I just stayed at the Boston Hyatt and had a wonderful experience with everything, from the service desk, to valet, to the room.It was 180 degree difference in the two.

The hotel is great but the restaurant is terrible.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
I wish the food in the restaurant was better. Wanted a nice sit down diner and choices were poor and seats were uncomfortable. Felt like it was made for bar food only. Ended up going out for dinner the second night. Bar also is expensive and closes early.

Hotel in downtown Rochester

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Our room was nice. The hotel staff were helpful and polite. I was disappointed that there was no complimentary breakfast as that is usually our experience in most hotels these days

Just unpleasant

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Parking garage is ridiculous to find a spot. Elevators to get to the hotel are creepy and confusing. Line to check in was super long with too little of staff. The carpet was certainly not vacuumed, light fixtures were extremely dusty. If you're choosing hyatt for it's reputation, this certainly won't be up to the hyatt standards you like. Completely disappointed. Only thing they have going for them is their comfy beds.

Decent stay in the heart of Rochester

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds, fairly clean (see more in the improvement section however) and the attached parking garage was convenient.
Cons: Although the room was clean, the floor was really stained in many spots so it made it "feel" not so clean. Attendant could have been friendlier.
Location: Zoo, Lake Ontario....and definitely eat at Dinosaur BBQ if you like BBQ.
Arrived for an overnight stay late night. Hotel has a connecting parking lot with which you validate the ticket for (at the time) $4/day. So you can drive right into the lot, bring your luggage in and validate your pass upon check in. My impression of the lobby was that it was clean and a I liked the decor. Rooms were decent, beds very comfortable and the view of the city was nice.

Hyatt in downtown Rochester, NY

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Nice staff and the meal we had in the evening was good.
Cons: Room was very dull and depressing. Needs to be updated, so does the bathroom. Overall it should be lighter in colour.
Location: Nothing to do except visit the Genessee brewery. Rochester is a very depressing city. No shops in the main area of the city basically nothing to do.
Expected more from the Hyatt Regency with regards to the accommodation. The room we had was very dreary especially as it overlooked the tops of buildings, at street level we saw car parks and the main street which had nothing interesting to see. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. We used the valet service for our car which took forever to get to us on the last day. Better off parking your own car!
