Very nice historical building right in the city. Hosts were very gracious. Rooms were well appointed, and the breakfast was delicious. We will stay here again on our next trip to this beautiful city.

Delightful property. Excellent access to everything. Wenggasse has a tendency to be a loud road with cars on cobblestones.

If you are expecting something new and updated, don't stay here. We enjoyed the experience of staying in a quaint, well-maintained inn. I would caution anyone staying here to be mindful of the check-in time. I made the mistake of not making note of the 6:00 check-in, and as a result, the person working had to stay until we got there. She did so, but I know it was a terrible inconvenience to her, and I and my family felt terrible. Also of note is there is no elevator. If you have someone in your family who can't climb stairs, this might be difficult for them.

We were three in our party and the room we stayed in was perfect. Separate second bedroom was great. The staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was very nice. We parked right across the street from the hotel, for a small fee. Adorable little town with lots of shopping and the hotel was right near an entrance to the wall. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in touring this area.

You can't beat the location! It is within the city's walls, and you can walk anywhere from there. The breakfast was excellent. There was even (limited) parking available! The room was small, there's no elevator, and the bed was low (and a little hard for my preference), but overall, it was an amazing stay - and such a beautiful town!

Parking was right across the street, 5 minute walk to town center. Owner was very pleasant and helpful. The only negative was that it’s located right next to one off the towers so we heard the traffic which started at 5am, however we did have the window open. We would still highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay. The parking lot was right across the street, the staff was so kind and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The property is charming and right in the middle of everything. We will definitely return.

The property was in a traditional building and very conveniently located. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. The only real downside was that our window was over a street that was unexpectedly very busy and noisy. Because it was so hot we needed to keep the window open and the traffic noise kept us up most of the night.

Hotel Zum Breiterle made our time in Rothenburg perfect. Hotel is within easy walking distance of the main train station, located within the walls of the historic town, clean, nicely furnished and decorated, excellent desk staff, excellent traditional German breakfast. Excellent place to stay while experiencing the amazing historic town of Rothenburg.

The hotel was very charming, check in was easy, the room was clean and tidy. Others had mentioned that noise might be a concern and my room was facing one of the main ways in and out of the town. There was traffic noise during the day, tires on cobblestones, but it was very quiet at night, had no trouble sleeping. A fan already in the room. Breakfast had a wide variety of items. The main reason I chose this hotel was proximity to the train as I was using a large backpack. The walk was 5-7 minutes with the hotel just inside the main gate. I did not have to haul my stuff up hill as I would have had to do if closer to the town center. Would certainly recommend to others and would stay there again.

Can not recommend.
Big European vacation for us. We’ve traveled via Paris, Venice, Florence , Munich and now Rothenburg. Miserable entry here through a back stairway then up a narrow spiral stairway to a room where the shower door wouldn’t even come together. True the place is old and in old town but it’s tricky to stay there. Take a picture of the building so you can find it. And ask for extra towels for the bathroom floor!

Great place to stay in Rothenburg!
Great place to stay inside the city walls of Rothenburg. Old world charm of a historic building with modern amenities. The hotel is located right inside one of the gates, which is great if you are driving, so you can avoid all the pedestrian lanes! The main market Square was a 4 to 5 minute walk right down the street. Parking was provided directly across the street from the hotel in a gated lot and was well worth the €8 per day. Breakfast was also worth the €12 per person and included a traditional German breakfast Buffet, and coffee machine with cappuccinos, lattes, and other drinks.
