we got at 19:45 to check inn the hotel as abandoned old, dirty no cars or other guests, we got in to the lobby it was empty, started knoking on wood to see if someone could help us, creepy very creepy,, finally a lady came rushing in very agitated and told us what where we where doing inside, i told her we wante to check in, she said no one comes here, but i showed her my reservation, still very very agitated,, i was about to dial 911, then she went outside and gave me an envelope with my name, we rushed out of the lobby it was really creepy,, the room was somehow clean, very very old and zero cars parked outside,, we just locked the door and didnt came out,, it was great story,, but will never ever come back near that hotel again

Sorry you had a bad experience, we have had issues with employees and are working to get more reliable staff. We do close at certain times but have employees here 24/7.

This property used to be so beautiful/unique, and I always wanted to stay there. But it's not in good shape, anymore. The owners need to sell to someone who wants to return the Swiss Chalet to its former self or bite the bullet and put some money back in to this property before they lose it completely.

The property is still being renovated and should have been on its website. No food and ice machine. Staff wasn’t in office all the time.

We do close our office/ lobby at certain times each day. We do have staff here 24/7. The property's kitchen/ dining area is being renovated. We are working to improve the property and it takes time.

This property is so run down, old, and hasn’t been kept up. It was clean and that is the only reason we continued our stay. The office wasn’t open during hours and when we called for towels they were RUDE! No service! This property needs to close or do major renovations.

I've stayed at the property a few times before and always enjoyed my stay...The room was clean, quiet and in a convenient location fitting my needs perfectly. Check in/out was easy. My only problem on this stay was the the TV channels consisted of only one which went out on the first night. I was lucky as I still had internet and could get my entertainment from other sources. I would stay there again. J

Room was clean very clean ,but the chain lock for the door gone ,peep hole on the door gone and stuffed with toilet paper theres a gap in the room between the ac and wall where i could see out in the hallway also means peolple could see in covered it with a towel was also unable to control the heat in the room either

Old but clean and safe
It was a good place to stay for just over night. It was clean but the old feel of the place and lack up updates on the small things made it seem unkept. Like the shower head leaks out the side so bad it there wasn’t much pressure from the shower head itself. The room was large and spacious 😁

Reading other people's reviews made us understand we were going to stay at a 2 star place that was being updated. Updated furniture was nice. The carpet had not been updated nor the bathroom. It was acceptable and, as someone mentioned the staff are very nice.

They were in process of remodeling so when we drove up from wrong side it looked run down, so don’t let first glance discourage you. Area we stayed had been updated rooms were clean staff helpful. There was no microwave in room but a small refrigerator. Did not like the fact that we had a dog barking next to us most of the night. Overall it was a good stay.

I'm sorry your room was to your liking. We are very clean and we double check each room for cleanliness. If you would have addressed this issue while staying with us we could have moved you to a different room or addressed the issue. We understand that our hallways are not very clean due to rain, mud, and bugs coming in due to being in the mountain's. We are working to improve the outside and inside of the hotel.

Do not stay here.
This place needs to be demolished and rebuilt. We stayed here for one night in late June 2021 after touring various towns of New Mexico. I can’t recommend. Sinking bed. Sandpaper towels. One section of the hotel is under construction.

Nice Place to Stay in Ruidoso
It was my first time staying at this hotel. The service was great and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was recently updated. I will definitely return. Thank you for sweeping the several inches of snow off of my vehicle so that I could get on the road home.

Perfect for snow tubing
Perfect location for visiting Winter Park. Only a 3 min drive. Very quiet and peaceful. It's an older place so it's not fancy by any means but the views are beautiful. Dog friendly which we loved. There's a great place to walk your dogs and deer roaming all over.

This property is in extreme need of renovations! The room was extremely spacious and the views were beautiful. However, the carpet is very old, the bathroom was outdated, the hallways are very outdated.
