Great hotel in a. Great town. Nice area. La Terrace restaurant close by I would highly recommend. Really nice room in the hotel. Staff were great.

Good comfortable and well-located
Very well located. Only disappointment was that the hotel car park was full. If the website had made clear that this needed to be booked, I would have done so. As it was I had to lug heavy bags quite a distance with no offer of help. On the plus side, breakfast was excellent

The room was quite lovely and the bed was very comfortable. It was so nice to be able to walk a few steps out the front door and find good restaurants and shops.

Lovely central hotel
Lovely hotel right in the centre. Comfortable room, good bathroom with lovely toiletries. Tasteful decor in communal areas. As it is a small hotel it’s a good idea to inform them when you will arrive.

I am extremely cross that they took £70 out of my account on the day we arrived and then took another £120 when I left And they now say I will get the £70 back in a few weeks !!! Is this Expedia or the hotel ???

Really good location. Room not huge but very comfortable. Bathroom was very big though and very nice. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. Secure car park was also a bonus. Would stay here again.

Oh my goodness, what can I say about this hotel except you must stay here! Everything was wonderful from start to finish. On arrival the excellent signs guide you through the narrow streets to the hotel garage. Make sure your book a place as they are popular & there is no real obvious alternative. The welcome from Cindy could not have been warmer, check-in super quick & we were soon wandering round this beautiful city as the hotel is in the centre. The room was beautiful with lovely views of the streets below. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom huge & there was no noise all night. Breakfast was not the cheapest at 9 euros but exceptional in every way & well worth it! Only tiny negative was the door handle had been fitted the wrong way so you had to hold the door knob turned to unlock the door! Love this hotel & will definitely be back.

Nice hotel close to facilities
The hotel was well placed for restaurants and a pleasant walk by the river. Staff were very helpful and English is spoken if speakkng French is a problem. A good stopover.

Very nice hotel centrally located
Parked in the car park 5 min walk from hotel for 7 euros for 24 hours Hotel is well appointed and furnished. Room was big enough with very large bathroom and good size TV. Breakfast was excellent and extensive choices and good to see Gluten Free options too. Saintes looks a lovely city and would like to come back when we have more time and would definitely choose this hotel again

Big rooms, no AC
Hotel is in walking zone, so you’ll need a little bit of a walk to park your car - you’re on your own there. Rooms were large and generally comfortable. Bed and couch included. There was an out of season heat wave going and sadly no AC was available. That’s my only complaint. Definitely walk over to see the Roman amphitheater.

Brief 2 nights in Saintes at this perfectly located hotel. Hidden in the old streets of the town, a modern interior hotel with comfort and cleanliness making it a perfect stopover.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was pre-paid and the receptionist phoned at 8pm to offer us a code for access if we were going to arrive after 9pm. We arrived at 8.40pm and just managed to get in the garage which was then secure for the night.

Interesting place for a stop-over
We stayed overnight here whilst driving from the Algarve to Cherbourg. It's right in the centre of the old town which makes it easy to see something interesting after a long drive. There is a car park which you have to book. Everyone very friendly and all spoke excellent English.

The best hotel in Saintes.
The best option, definitely the best hotel in Saintes. I was given the room No 23, which was very spacious and accommodating. The staff was extremely friendly - everyone spoke English. The location was just perfect. Right in the middle of many shops and restaurants. Breakfast was available at a very affordable price. Definitely will stay here again.

Reception staff were very good organising a parking space for us. Room was comfortable and quirky though the shower had no curtain or door so tended to spray out all over the bathroom floor.

Great stopping off point
This hotel was really easy to find and in an excellent location for visiting Saintes and stopping off on the way to the channel ports. The secure car park was particularly welcome.

Great stopover
Stopped in Saintes as a stopover on route from channel ferries to the south west and the distance suited us really well. The staff at Citotel des Messageries were proactive in ringing us beforehand to ensure they understood our sleeping requirements, and were equally friendly on arrival (which is actually why I'm bothering to review it :) ). The hotel has a lot of character but is well equipped and has easy access to secure parking. We had a good en suite room, and an excellent continental breakfast. There is easy access to the centre of town and a riverside walk in the evening. Saintes itself is worth an overnight visit with some well preserved history including some roman remains in the city centre and the ruins of a roman amphitheatre a short drive from the centre which is very cheap to get into... worked well for teenagers as we left the next day. Also there's good shopping and restaurants available. We'll be travelling this route again.

The hotel is tucked away behind the main street and very convenient for visiting the town. I was offered car parking and paid 10 euros for the night.

The service was great! The location excellent. The hotel is tired and needs a total facelift. Rooms are like caves no aircon and the 1 that did have aircon was on so low it was barely effective Staff are lovely tho and very helpful..

Quuirky hotel in the centre of Saintes
Lovely quiet hotel with quirky decor. The location is very convenient to visit Saintes and all the restaurants and bar in the area. We had dinner in a wonderful restaurant, Les remparts which was good and certainly very cheap, slightly more expensive than the price of a breakfast in French hotels! The hotel had a paying private parking situated very close to the hotel. Very good internet connection. Breakfast of same standard as other hotels chains

Very good location to explore the city. Attractive decor making the best of very old buildings. Excellent service and excellent good quality breakfast although croissants ran out on the Saturday morning which was quite busy. We would have been more comfortable if we had paid for a token for the air con in our room which was very hot but it was not mentioned and no idea how long 6 Euros would last.. No ventilation in the bathroom which does not appear to be mandatory in French hotels. Poor outlook from our room on to narrow alley and above the hotel laundry facilities. Small wardrobe for a longer stay but overall a comfortable room and happy with service and stay.
