Cold showers

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: Great location
Location: The Riverwalk
We were given a room on the 2nd floor. The first 2 mornings my wife and I to take cold showers. We then found out later that the boilers are on 5th floor and we need to let the water run at least 10 minutes early in am (5am) to get the hot water to flow to our floor. The 2nd night we our room was above a banquet room that was having a Xmas party and the BOOM, BOOM, BOOM of the bass kept us awake until after 11pm and we had to get up at 5 the next morning. The staff was very sympathetic, and the manager moved us to higher floor for the 3rd night as well as removing 3 of our 5 nights from our bill. My in-laws, had a nicer room (same price) and twice the size on a higher floor (no noise) but the condensation from the air unit was leaving a 1/2 inch of water on their bathroom floor every day, we think there was some sort of leak somewhere.

Surprising!

Posted Dec 12, 2014
Just booked this hotel based on and while the d├ęcor was '60's it was clearly updated with new modern furniture in the large open lobby area. The room was excellent and comfortable. The only thing they could do to improve the property is to work on the hallways. Minor. The hotel has some history and provides quick and easy access to the famous 'Riverwalk' to the downtown core full of shops, bars, restaurants. Loved the place and would certainly recommend it.

Decent hotel on the Riverwalk

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Stayed one night. The hotel lobby is dated but the rooms seem to have been remodeled recently. It's a little far from the resturants and bars on the Riverwalk, but if your looking for a cheaper hotel it's not bad.

Mold & poor amenities

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Gym and location.
Cons: Air quality and mold.
Location: Riverwalk.
The hotel itself is decorated nice, but the room was horrible. The heater/ac unit is next to the ceiling and blows directly on the bed, and its not good air. It smells like mold, and both my husband and I woke up with respiratory problems. We didn't notice the mold smell until leaving the room, and coming back in. You can see that there was mold in the bathroom and they just calked over the mold. They missed a few spots. There is a prison style toilet. No microwave, no mini fridge. Only one towel was provided for the two of us. The bed was saggy, and very uncomfortable. No free breakfast, and the 9.99 breakfast buffet was a joke. The gym was nice.

Riverwalk access

Posted Nov 25, 2014
The hotel is under renovation. The lobby area was very nice. The lounge inside the hotel was cozy with entertainment. Down side is that the bar closes at midnight. The hallways leading to the bedrooms leaves a little to desire. But once we opened the door to the room we were pleased again. The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Our main issue was that there isn't direct access down to the Riverwalk. It sits on the walk but you have to access it from the street side instead of the direct access like other. All in all our stay at this hotel was pleasurable.
