Travelling solo, 3 nights stay in Alda Avenida. Very clean and close to centre of Santiago. I should have liked tea/coffee making facilities in my room; also a cafe in the hotel (which used to exist). Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Probably the worst bed I’ve ever slept in. Super narrow, short and hard mattress. This is an old hotel. Unfortunately I can’t recommend it based on comfort.

It is in a great location and the price was quite reasonable. The buffet breakfast was a good deal got 6.50 euros. Overall it was quite a positive experience and good value for the price.

Excellent hotel in great location.
Great hotel in excellent location across the street from access to old town and cathedral (5-10 minute walk) Masses of restaurants close by or even fast food if you're on a tight budget. KFC, Burger King and Pizza hut all side by side (turn left outside the hotel and walk down to the beautiful park Alameda and you'll see them. (10 - 15 minute walk) The main market is 5 minute walk away (turn right outside hotel) and it's up on the left. The bus stop for the airport (bus 6A) is a 5 minute walk if you turn right out the front of the hotel. Excellent staff at reception. The ones we met were friendly and bright and spoke good enough english if your spanish is not great. The desk isn't manned 24 hours but they give you an access code if returning to the hotel after 10pm. We used it once and it worked fine. The wifi in our room (4th floor out the back) was non existent but we used our data so wasn't too big a deal but maybe the hotel could consider setting up a modem hotspot up there. Modems are wired up on the walls of the lower floors but can't comment on wifi down there. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom had a wall pump for soap and a very powerful shower with permanent hot water. Can recommend this hotel highly and will definitely stay here again when returning to Santiago de Compostela.

A nice, affordable place to stay in Santiago
The hotel is very well located, about halfway between the cathedral and the railway station. The room on the back side was very peaceful. Breakfast was OK for the price. Overall, this was a very good place to stay. Our only complaint is, that the Wi-Fi did not reach out to the room and I had to go to the lobby to use it. Even the mobile phone was only working sporadically.

Excellent location and helpful staff. Close to airport bus and half a kilometer to the train station. The central part of the city is about 5 minute walk.

Check in was very straightforward. Since we arrived late afternoon we could go directly to our room. If you are going to have breakfast you have to tell them the evening before. We forgot to tell them once, but in the morning they said no problem. Good selection of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, juices and coffee. The only negative was the internet which in our room was between extremely weak and none. The internet signal was no match for two feet thick stone walls. In the lobby it was very good in en the hallway useable. Staff very helpful with map, directions, taxi information. On a main street, but not much traffic or noisy people at night. Adjacent to Casco Viejo and only a 10 min walk to restaurant area.

The location is close to the central area but it is on a busy street and the nearest parking area is several blocks away. The amenities were minimal. The lighting was poor, especially on the stairs and in the bathroom. Granted, we went in peak tourist season but it was overpriced considering the lack of amenities.
