I love the staff over there, I don’t remember the name of the person who took us to get something to eat around 3am. Very accommodating and helpful. Just kinda weird to me that the security guard was sleeping and it smelled like a feet when we walked in through the entrance. But all in all I love the facility

The best location above my favorite restaurant on el Conde. The best place to people watch in front of park colon where musicians frequently serenade tourists and locals for tips. Very cold ac in room. Unfortunately tv reception was inconsistent due to cable problems and tv had to be unplugged at night to darken screen to sleep . The room was on the small side but comfortable.

Parking is always a problem when coming to the hotel. Would like to have an iron and lotion in the room. Other than that now complaints.

Good Location, bad AC, no TV, bad entry system
Location is amazing but unfortunately there was no elevator, AC was very weak and switched off everytime we had to go out briefly so it was always hot considering it was 40C outside, no fan provided. TV did not work and staff couldn't fix it so we just had no TV for 2 days with no efforts to make it up to us. The entrance is terrible, most times we pressed and pressed the button with no response so we just kept entering thru the restaurant so to avoid the heat. Very noisy outside but that wouldve been no problem if service was better.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel. The hotel and rooms were very tastefully decorated with modern gold and bronze touches in a cozy older building. Room 402 opens onto a most charming balcony offering incredible views over the square and busy streets of Zona Colonial. You can hear the live music wafting through the balcony doors, which makes for an especially romantic stay. Unfortunately you can also hear other loud street sounds (e.g. street cleaner power washing the square every night around midnight) but it's a tiny price to pay for such a well located spot. Some of our favourite monuments were within minutes walk and the sweetest cafe was just a block away. For dining, you can order from the restaurant downstairs which had a wide variety of tasty local and international dishes. Excellent service from all, hotel and restaurant staff. I'd recommend providing a small kettle, tea area for guests as you had to buy a tea from the restaurant whenever you needed some. Not sure if you could access an iron as none were in the room, but the small fridge did come well stocked (for purchase) and the bathroom had some toiletries included.

Amazing location and nice stay
Incredible location, friendly and helpful staff, beautifully remodeled hotel that is updated but consistent with the original aesthetic. Comfortable and clean. Restaurant is great and sitting on the outdoor tables in the middle of the heart of Colonial SD was a great experience. My teens and I loved our stay and will come back.

I stay here often
When I fly out of or visit Santo Domingo I usually stay here. The location is great. It can sometimes be loud because of people constantly blowing their horns on the street regardless of what time it is. You can also hear the people in the next room pretty easily. The restaurant downstairs is good and it's a great place for people watching. The Rooms are nice. Extremely comfortable beds, good AC and plenty of hot water. The staff is very helpful an accomidating. There are 3 things that I do not like. They don't give you an iron upon request. They charge you to have someone iron your clothes. I arrived later in the day and the "iron person" had gone home. So I did not have ironed clothes to wear. Also I was charged 320 pesos for the "iron person" to iron 1 pair of shorts and a T-shirt. The second thing is in Santo Domingo you can not drink the water. If you need water for prescriptions or to brush your teeth they want you to buy one from your minibar. Throw in a 10 pesos bottle of water with a stay. And lastly they have a safe in the room but don't give you a key. I actually think they charge you for use of the safe. That is wrong. No place is perfect but in my opinion these things should be addressed.

Thank you for your opinion, The safe are free next time We will offer you. On the past the rooms had Irons to Our Guests but the a lot of ours Matress were burned. For tha reason we decided to take it out, Sorry !!

Obviously the best location in the city. Rooms were very clean and reasonably priced. Closest parking is 2 blocks away and costs $1 per hour, just to prepare. I’d stay here over other “higher end “ hotels in the city though due to the location.

Such a fantastic historical hotel! Balcony suite on 4th floor was exceptional. In the middle of all the history. Key must be in wall slot to operate lights & a/c, this is genius. Staff is amazing. Hotel Restaurant is excellent, great coffee ☕️. Mellow live instrumental music in the evening adds to the atmosphere. Quad is gorgeous. So happy to have found this gem. It was such a highlight of our adventure. Staff got us a cab to bus station to our next destination. All super sweet & fair pricing. I felt very safe & even fancy here ;) So happy!

AMAZING! So happy I stayed here. Coolest experience possible. The history, the view. I hope all rooms have a balcony, idk. The suite on the 4th floor right under the sign was worth walking the stairs & it’s roomy. We stayed in another room as well that was also nice, it was much smaller. The staff was super helpful & sweet even with our language barrier. They will get you a fair priced cab super fast. The cafe was excellent, coffee is so good. The area is so fun to explore. This is the place to stay to explore historical SD. You need at least 1 solid day here that’s what we had with 2 nights at hotel. Then we were off to Las Terrenas by bus which was all a great experience as well. There we stayed at Costarena. Not fancy, but perfectly basic & well centered to best beaches & town for walking. Just to mention.

Excellent location next to the Parque Colon - walking distance to all major attractions and dining. The only reason for 4 stars is the hotel is in a very noisy area and you can hear noise late in the night. If you are a light sleeper this may not be for you.
