Beautiful grounds in the weather was beautiful in July as well. They had fans to help with the heat hotel staff are friendly and courteous. I wish the pool was open later than 8 PM. The hotel rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were clean and mine had a unbelievable view of the mountains kids able to rent an E-bike to ride up to Eagles Nest. Gorgeous grounds and flowers in window boxes

The most welcoming German hosts we've ever had!
Loved all the little touches, the welcoming attitude and care of the staff. We have always found our German stays underwhelming, this is one we would go back to! Nothing was too much trouble, in fact they anticipated our needs. The facilities were perfect.

Nice but not worth the money.
The hotel was nice but not worth the money compared to other places in the region where we have stayed. Room temperature could not be controlled and beds were hard. Too far out of town.

It is great for relaxing! It is very near to the tourist spots, i.e. 5-15 mins ride. The breakfast selection is in a great variety. The hotel staff are nice and always try to help you. The wellness amenities are well-managed. It is very recommended to stay there

Scenic getaway in Bavaria
I can't say enough about this hotel. A fantastic location, just five minutes from Lake Konigsee and a few more from Berchtesgaden, and the scenery! Perched high on a hillside, the view of the mountains and the lake valley was spectacular. I greatly enjoyed eating and relaxing on the patio and the yard, where lounge chairs wait for you to recline with a book. The food was excellent and the service personal and friendly. The hotel's decor is charming and folksy, and the room was comfortable and well-appointed. I wished I could stay longer!

I really enjoyed my staff at the Alpenhoff. Food was great, staff very friendly. The location is perfect - set in the mountains but just a short walk or drive to town.

This hotel has everything. The view, restaurant, wellness, location are all way above average. We stayed 2 nights and will try to return someday to stay longer. The breakfast is very good and the evening dinners are also very good. The afternoon cake and light lunch that is included with the room is also very nice. Staff is friendly and parking on premise is a plus.

Wonderful Property away from the tourist areas
We had originally booked for one night but ended up staying a second night due to the beautiful property, its location and the wonderful staff. Good breakfast and the 1/2 fare dinner menu was quite good. Enjoyed having a beer on the sunny patio after a hike. Highly recommend this hotel as it is away from the touristy arenas provides beautiful vistas of the mountains out the windows.

Nice retreat close to national park
We chose this hotel to be close to Berchesgarten but not right in town. It was an easy taxi/bus ride and near the national park with lots of hiking trails, lake, fanicular. On-site restaurant served local specialties. Great spa facility including sauna, pools, workout equipment.

Loved our stay here. The room was lovely. The bathroom decadent. The workout room was great; we also swam in the pool and played in the kids' area. The restaurant had surprisingly good food. The views of the alps and Lake Konigsee from our room were divine.

Everything is perfect
The view from our balcony is amazing. The food quality is superb. My wife is pregnant so she's very sensitive about the freshness of the food. This is the only place along our trip where she finds the food delicious.

Lovely retreat with clay tennis court
My husband, daughter and I had a lovely stay. The restaurant was exceptional...one of our best meals in Germany. The pools and sunning areas were fabulous, but the prize for us was the under-utilized clay tennis court next to the "Wald," under the overhanging Kehlsteinhaus or "Eagles Nest." Nice quiet area and so much space, indoors and out. Beautiful room...I could have stayed for a month!

Fantastic experience.
Our stay at the Alpenhof was unparalleled by any other hotel. The service was friendly and helpful (they helped get us into the Eagles Nest tour without a reservation), the views are spectacular, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the food is absolutely outstanding. The Alpenhof is fairly close to Berchtesgaden, so getting a Taxi into town was not obtrusive, and they even have a bus right outside the driveway if you have time to wait. Overall, I think it might be the best hotel experience I have ever had; when I go back to Berchtesgaden, I will not stay anywhere else.

Excellent Getaway Location
The hotel was gorgeous, inside and out. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided us with everything we had asked for from directions to parts of the town to giving us something we forgot in our luggage. The hotel had a great indoor and outdoor pool, the food was excellent for every meal of the day, and our room was clean, new, and held every amenity necessary to relax, including a great view of the mountains from our balcony. I would stay here again several times over and will recommend this hotel to all friends and family!

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Alpenhof
The Alpenhof isn't the least expensive place to stay in the Berchtesgaden area, but it's not the most expensive, either. The staff was very helpful to us and all the staff spoke English. The inn is just five minutes from downtown Berchtesgaden, and about the same distance to Konigsee and the Mt. Jenner cable car line. The hotel was clean, comfortable and we loved that there was both a heated indoor and a heated outdoor pool. We were able to decide each morning, after reviewing the dinner menu, whether we wanted to purchase the half-board plan or order dinner ala carte - not all inns are that flexible. I would recommend the Alpenhof - it's worth the price.

The best of Berchtesgaden
The hotel Alpenhof is perfectly located to reach any surrounding areas and is also perfect for privacy at the same time. The staff of this wonderful hotel make an already enjoyable atmosphere even better! The room is clean, the bed comfortable, the shower modern with hot water and great pressure. The inclusive breakfasts are fantastic and you must not miss them. The dinners are equally excellent. This was our second stay and just the beginning of many more years of visits. We never want to leave...ever!

This was an outstanding hotel and spa/wellness center. We booked the hotel mainly for its location in Berchtesgaden because we were interested in the area but it could be a destination in itself! The room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, the view from the room was stellar, and the food in the hotel restaurant (both breakfast and dinner) was outstanding! We wished that we could have stayed longer. The heated indoor and outdoor pool looked so enticing - we foolishly did not bring swimsuits and regretted it. What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location! You will love it!

Nice Hotel, but
Hotel Alpenhof is a nice cozy hotel. It is nearby all major attractions in the area (Berchestgaden, Ocbersalzburg, and Salzburg). The hotel setting is magnificent nestled in the surrounding mountains. Food is outstanding both Breakfast and Dinner. Service is very good and staff is very helpful. Our room was spacious and full of all amenities. The only downside was the foul smell coming out of the bathroom. It seems their sewer system needs proper venting, installation of u-traps in drain pipes, or combination of both.

Really nice hotel with good spa area. Hotel restaurant was cozy and food was really good. Landscape was awesome. We were there together but seemed like a good place to be with children also. Play area where was also pool table and table tennis. Our stay was short but we would like to go there again some day.

I would have liked to have more time at this hotel but it was only an overnight stop. The entire hotel was beautiful. The restaurant was superb. There is a beautiful pool that goes from inside to out and the views from the balcony were outstanding.

Beautifully Scenic Hotel - Fabulous
Everything was great, as was our last stay here. We didn't realize we couldn't check out until 7AM, and it would be nice to check out a little earlier. If we had to catch an early morning flight it could have been an issue. It also might be nice to have some ceiling fans. We aren't wanting air conditioning, but a ceiling fan (or even a small fan) would have been nice on some of the hotter days. Beautiful and scenic as always! We'll definitely be back.

Truly a gem!
This is what Alpine Lodge is all about! We are impressed by the size of the facility, cleaniness of the rooms, a great combination of modern conveniences and "bed & breakfast" type of personal services--the hostess led us to our rooms and showed us how to use the fixtures! The internet service was only EUR 3 for the entire stay, not per day! A convenient drive to Salzburg. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back to stay longer next time.

I will definately stay here again. Staff is friendly and well-versed in English. Restaurant was fine, service excellent. If you like to go to sleep with the gentle sound of cowbells in the surrounding pasture (no smell) this is the palce for you. A little out of the way, but within 2-3 km of all the Berchtesgaden attractions.

Hotel Alpenhof - An Excellent Property!
This hotel was a great surprise to us and we heartily recommend it! All aspects of our stay here were outstanding from the clean and well appointed guest room with balcony to the outstanding cuisine and restaurant to the quiet and serenity of the area. If you are from the Americas and visiting this area, stay here! No need to "play it safe" and stay at the Intercontinental nearby. The staff of the Alpenhof speak english, have english-printed menus and documentation and are always willing and will accomodate any request. We enjoyed this unusual and outstanding hotel that we are already looking forward to another visit to the Hotel Alpenhof!

Great location and beautiful hotel
We stayed at the Hotel Alpenhof for 2 nights in mid September. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owners and immediately felt at home -- they added a nice personal touch. Our room was very spacious with a nice view of the mountains and surrounding area. There were three of us traveling so we got one room and used the sofabed and it was surprisingly comfortable. The hotel restaurant was okay but a bit expensive. We ate there one night and ate there for breakfast (typical Germany buffet) and then ate in either Konigssee or Bertschesgaden the rest of the time. Alpenhof is located just a few kilometers from both Konigssee and Bertchesgaden, so both are easy to get to from here. Don't miss the Salzburgwerks -- a tour of the salt mines in Bertchesgaden and check out the boat rides on Lake Konigssee. The Eagle's Nest is also just a few kilometers away.
