Great location, nice place - not upscale, but great.
I had cold and rainy weather in the middle of February and there is no central heat (or A/C if you are traveling in the summer). The heater in the room was better than nothing, but barely adequate. I was glad I had checked the weather report in advance and had the appropriate clothing, especially for sleeping.
There was no safe in the room, but I had a suitcase lock and put anything I cared about in the suitcase. I'm a little paranoid so maybe this wasn't necessary, but I wasn't willing to take any chances.
Bring your own electrical adaptor. My room had two outlets. There was a hair dryer but the cord was really tightly wound and it wasn't easy to use.
Definitely check the weather before you go! If it says "rain," bring an umbrella and waterproof footwear! The people over there dress really nicely, but it was more important to be dry than fashionable.
Carry a copy of your passport. You may need it, but don't want to risk losing it. You can keep your passport in your room and use the copy while shopping. No problem.
