Historic

Pros: I loved the old school charm and classic hotel design. Loved the golf course very nicely maintained great layout.
Cons: The size of the room was my least favorite. A bit tight, small bathroom.
Location: Lots to do. Hotel has a set of tours it host through out the day. For example, hiking, onsite brewery tour, and golf course tour.
This is a classic, charming, and historic hotel with beautiful mountain views and plenty to do. Our family had a wonderful time, spent the day doing many hotel activities like hiking, onsite brewery tour, and golf course tour. The ladies spent a day at the spa. While, the men played golf. The staff was very nice and helpful. My recommendation: MUST GO!!!

Stayed the weekend to ski with my kids. Had a great time! The on site brewery was awesome as were the restaurants. kids had a fabulous time roasting Marshmellows every night with robert on the Bon fire overlooking the river. Would definitely stay again!

Pros: I liked that it was very clean and comfy! I also like that they were a green hotel. They make their own beer, honey and maple syrup!
Cons: a free spa with your stay!!!
Location: We stayed in the Pocono Mountains , close to Shawnee Skiing!
Our experience was great. We were around the corner from skiing, had a beautiful pool to swim in and the hotel was spotless. The bed was so comfy. There were several different types of pillows on the bed . That way they could satisfy the picky sleeper. Also to lure you into a deep sleep they have sound machines and aromatherapy upon request.

Nice stay overall

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Nice stay. Rooms are a bit small and if you are tall like me you may hit your head on the bathroom door header which is a bit low. Great pool and hot tub. Nice historical feel to the hotel but with upgraded TVs, appliances etc. One unfortuate thing we encountered was no breakfast buffet which we understood was included. And the ice machine was broken on the 2nd floor. Minor nuisance. Overall we enjoyed it.

mis communication

Posted Feb 25, 2014
booked through expedia said complementary breakfast that was not the case... sat down had breakfast got hit for 31 dollars for an average buffet for two people..there waa only one restaurant open and it was the Pub which was sub par... overall the hotel was nice but I would give it a 2 out of 5 because no one let us know about the restaurants and not getting the complementary breakfast the next morning... be nice if they told you that stuff when you check in at the front desk...

Pros: Fresh air, fun activities
Cons: restaurant schedule. we were hungry at night and there were no restaurants open
Location: beautiful mountains, shawnee mountain is great for skiing or snowboarding.
My boyfriend and I had an incredible time. The staff were friendly, there were fun activities, and a ski slope nearby. Really happy we chose Shawnee.

Pros: Beds indoor pool jacuzzi. Staff restaurant
Cons: Maybe upgrade bathrooms but they are okay and this is it picky
Location: Close to skiing and tubing
very comfortable hotel. loved the indoor swimming and jacuzzi.Beds as pillows very comfortable. Bathrooms a little dated but the pros way outweighed this minor issue. great restaurant. Close to two ski resorts
