Just perfect
The host accurately described the property and it was even more charming and adorable in real life. The inside and out was cute as could be and very well decorated. It was within walking distance from downtown. Very highly recommended for those wishing to explore Silver City.

Quick Visit to See Our WNMU Freshman
This property was very nice, and if you’re doing anything involving the WNMU campus, the location is PERFECT…although traffic noise did occasionally get ‘noticed’. We’d make a couple of suggestions: Given the property is a ‘No outside shoes’ property, an all weather mat on the inside by the shoe tray would be helpful in keeping that part of the floor clean. The steps leading to the door from the street are STEEP…and might be a problem for some visitors. Maybe a note on the listing would be helpful. Again…overall we enjoyed our stay here and have already recommended it to our parents. Grady

3 day summer get away
The items in the house were organized and / or labeled. The house was charming and comfortable. Loved the artwork inside and out. The bedrooms only receive indirect AC, but we were comfortable each night in late July. Would definitely stay again.

So much space! Yet still cozy
We enjoyed our stay at the Art House very much. There are lots of windows and lots of light, creating a spacious feeling. The rooms were clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the arrangement of furnishings created a welcoming feeling, and lots of printed labels helped us find what we needed. Kitchen was well appointed with supplies. Yes, it's located on a busy street, but we were not at all bothered by excessive noise. The beautifully-maintained landscaping around the house added privacy and coziness, and the artwork inside and out added a delightful touch of whimsey. We have family in Silver City who we visit from time to time, and we'd love to stay at the Art House again.

Artsy, comfortable but a bit loud
Reminded me of staying with a college friend that was an art major who inherited her grandmother’s cabin – artsy and comfortable but dated. Light fixtures missing replacement bulbs, a bathroom sink without a stopper – in need of some minor upgrades. Near the college – it wasn’t “party noisy” but was “college noisy” – random loud music, loud conversations that sounded like you were staying next to college students and not families with kids or retirees. Not a bad spot but not a 5.

The property and house were in good shape, all the necessary kitchen utensils and necessary items in the kitchen were well done and in good shape. The bedroom and bathrooms were very comfortable. While there was a little heat during the stay, and we were comfortable with a little air conditioning day and night.

Cute, quaint & cozy.
This is a really cute property & great location close to town. I feel like there needs to be deadbolts inside the house on all exterior doors. Someone was banging on the main door( iron door) one evening after midnight and scared us. We had attempted multiple times to lock the outer iron door but the deadbolt didn’t work.

Pleasant stay
The good: excellent communication; extremely clean; great bedding and towels; strong internet; unique decor; no road noise at night (as stated); reasonably well equipped kitchen; good information provided about both the area and the rental. The could-be-better: the listing should indicate the steep, narrow staircase required for entering the house; the listing should indicate that the interior of the house requires a step (or two) in three different locations between rooms; the listing should indicate that the twin-bed room lacks easy access to a bathroom (one being en suite the larger bedroom, the other being two rooms away); the listing should indicate that the master bedroom only receives indirect air conditioning requiring that the doors be open for ventilation; the oven should be checked for proper operation (took a long time to preheat and didn't seem to maintain the proper temperature). Were we generally pleased with our stay, overall? Yes. Would we recommend the house to a friend? Yes, but we would make sure the friend was properly informed about the property's limitations. Would we stay here again? Probably, now that we know.

Birthday Trip
Our family traveled to track down some family roots, celebrate a birthday, and experience Silver City. We wanted a place in historic Silver City and were happy with this home. Everything from the art on the walls to the cloth napkins made us feel welcome.

Fantastic!
The hosts' forethought and hospitality were evident: from the way the rooms were arranged, to the overall cleanliness, to all the neatly printed labels so we could find anything we needed, we felt very welcomed and comfortable.

Big Bug
It was very disturbing to discover a big, black, cockroach like bug in the bathroom off the mater bedroom upon arrival. Kept looking for more of them during the entire stay, but, fortunately, did not discover any more.

We are so sorry you had an encounter with the local wildlife! We do spray at the Art House twice a year to mitigate pest problems so I'm not surprised that you did not find others. The inside was really nice, but the outside was unusable, Too many weeds. I expected it to be really close to downtown as that is the way it was hyped. It was over a mile away. We had a good time anyway.

Nice place
Close to downtown, but far enough away to have only local neighbors hustle and bustle. It was very nice to have a great kitchen to prepare food, a real dining room and a nice living room. The recent rains have given the area a jungle like feel which was appreciated. and quite quiet at night despite the highway next door. We really enjoyed this place tremendously and would stay there again.

college Art House
This little house was great. Celebrated our 43rd anniversary with my sister and her husband. House was close to university, and downtown Silver City, and grocery store. Clean with all we needed to cook with. Worth staying at again. Small inconvenience was that the yard was overgrown. Could be because of all the rain but we were not able to use outdoor table because of all the over growth.

Inside the Art House was great. The outside was a mess; the yard and courtyard were overgrown, and the outside furniture were not useable while we were there. The writeup should have stated that there were steps throughout the house. Some people might not be able to maneuver steps. The steep concrete steps down to the house should have been mentioned in the advertisement of the house. The directions to the Art House were fine until you turn left on Georgia St. (the directions state, you take a right on Gordon St. (which is a narrow step dirt alley)). It should state go to the end of Georgia St. and turn right on 13th Street and then turn right at the next street, Alabama St., go to the end of the street and the house on your right 613 is the Art House. The listing says under “what the place offers” FREE PARKING ON PREMISES, but there was none. Also, Breakfast is provided. This was a package of instant oatmeal and coffee. Upon departure, we were told to place used linin and bedding in the hamper and take the trash to the trash bins locater on the street curb. We never had to do this anywhere we have ever stayed.

Lovely Home
This was one of the better VRBO properties that my family has stayed in. It is as cute in person as the pictures. The kitchen has plenty of cookware and utensils. If you enjoy cooking, you will be pleasantly surprised with kitchen. The bath towels were nice and plentiful. The art work was a joy to look at. I enjoyed staying in the house as much as I enjoyed exploring Silver City and the Gila mountains. I already want to go back.

Excellent place to stay in Silver City
This lovely cottage captures the artistic and cultural feel of Silver City. The owner and manager have added thoughtful touches to enhance your stay. There is fine artwork on the walls, a selection of games, coffee in the kitchen, etc. One aspect over which they have little control is that there is traffic noise from the nearby highway. It didn't bother me, but one of our party was distressed.

Great Artsy Home
We loved this house, with all the whimsical artsy things all over, inside and out. The only complaint would be the location right off the highway it gets a little noisy... especially when those diesels punch it to go up the hill! But the place is well stocked and very comfortable and I would not hesitate to rent it again!

We enjoyed our stay in Silver City. The home was clean and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed, (though there is no dishwasher). We arrived after dark and our GPS told us to turn right onto a smaller street, when in fact the house was on the left on the more major street.

Spring break vacation
We enjoyed having a house to stay in while we adventured around Silver City and the Gila Wilderness. The house was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The beds and pillows were good and having a washer and dryer was a must for us. Traffic from highway 180 can be a little loud at night and in the morning but not so bad that we wouldn’t book the house again. In all it was a great place to stay.

Silver City is so much fun!
We traveled to Silver City to get out of town. We live in Rio Rancho and wanted a getaway. Although many restaurants were closed, as well as shops, we had a wonderful time. We walked the town and stopped for amazing coffee and ambience at Tranquil Buzz. We also toured nearby Fort Bayard. We had a spectacular time!

Great little place!
We loved this little place. It was clean and well managed. Kitchen was well stocked - everything we needed to do meals was provided. Everything was clean. The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and my favorite part was the gate into the property. I won’t divulge the secret - you’ll need to go there to see! I highly recommend this place!

The house was delightful -- warm, sunny, with very comfortable beds and big thirsty towels. The only problem for me was the outside stairs that lead down from the curb. I am recovering from a hip replacement and they were challenging.
