Wonderful older hotel with character and char,. The lobby is warm and welcoming. The room was on the small side but very comfortable. The bathroom could have used a bit of updating and the towels need to be upgraded. The area around the hotel has marvelous shops and good restaurants. Parking can be a challenge - hotel does not have parking and street parking while generally available is not always close.

This was our 2nd stay in 3 months; we will be back again. Staff is always professional and thoughtful. The noisy vehicles during the day quieten at night. We love that you are pet friendly. The Toad distillery next door is great too. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Art deco - different but enjoyable. Pretty lobby with Frank Sinatra music in the background. The Front desk clerk recommended great restaurants as I was checking in. The bell cart was too large for the small elevator and I did have a problem maneuvering it around so that the elevator door would close. No dresser in the room. So I had to place my clothes around the room in different places. The closet was in the bathroom. Not too hygienic. Very small bathroom with no counter. Although there was a floating shelf to put women's makeup or whatever. Dark lighting which is not good to put on that makeup. TV was on the wall. So there was no cabinet to place anything either. Rust stain in the sink and fresh blood droplet under the desk. I did not do my homework before making the reservation for this hotel and found out there was no restaurant although they had continental breakfast.I spoke with the general manager who was humble and professional and explained the situation.

Updated Art Deco hotel in downtown Silver City near shops and restaurants, but nothing fancy. Dog-friendly, including in dining area for free continental breakfast. Room was adequate, with comfortable queen bed, and large separate bath/shower/sink and toilet/2nd sink, but no closet. It got warm, but we could open the window for fresh air. No daily housekeeping. Friendly front desk and staff. Parking on-street. Our car was full of camping equipment, but it seemed safe.

I liked the hotel itself very much. It had a very Barton Fink kind of feeling. My only gripe is the lack of dedicated parking. Very clean art deco hotel close to some nice downtown restaurants and art galleries.

I am sorry your room keys did not work. This has been addressed. The toilet tank not having water was a rarity. That is something I don't know why or how it happened.

I stay at the Murray Hotel every chance when I visit Silver City. It has a lot of charm, is very quiet, staff is friendly, and has the feel as if you were staying back in time! It is nearby downtown Silver City within walking disctance.

Great location. Staff was helpful! Very walkable. Room and bathroom very small. No way to control the heat. We had to open a window to cool off. Parking is on the street so can’t always get close to hotel. Breakfast was basic. They could offer a little more for not much effort. We were off-season so most of the shops only open on the weekend, which was a bummer. Lots of history in the hotel.

I love the art deco decor and furniture. No thermostat control was disappointing. I cracked a window to cool the room off, and it worked fine, but if I had to open a window more and it was raining with strong winds, that would be a problem.

We are sorry about the lack of heat controls, we are working on it and now in half of the rooms guests can turn the heat off and on. We will continue until all are working better for our guests.

The hotel was close to cool shops and eateries. Thehotel it self takes you back into a different era in time. The bed we got was really uncomfortable and I did not get much sleep during my stay. Warning to guests that need quiet while sleeping there is an event room on the upper floor and on our last night there was an event that was oud in our room until 10:30 that night. For us it didn't matter as we are musicians and are used to it but just an FYI for those who are not in all I enjoyed my stay and enjoyed Silver City.

Its a pretty old building. Built in 1938, I believe, but it is in good shape. It made me feel like I had stepped back in time. Very polite and professional staff and the rooms were cleanish. The beds were firm and comfortable and the breakfast was more than adequate to start my day.
