Nice and centrally located. Toilet and AC malfunctioned. Breakfast was 5 star. I booked this hotel for the sake of free breakfast. I think price is excessive.

Did not honour the booking
On the day I was supposed to stay at the hotel, I got a call from someone from the hotel to tell me that due to a 'technical problem' they will not be able to honour the booking. Later I found out that this was because they were sold out. The booking was paid at Hotels.com so now I am waiting for the refund but it is taking a while as Hotels.com say they are waiting for the hotel to confirm. When I got told by the hotel that I can't stay there, they said that they will immediately let the platform know so the money can be refunded, yet, they have not done so yet. I had to stay at a different hotel that night and pay there. I am not happy with the experience and would like my refund please.

The location is excellent to walk around the downtown. Breakfast is good. The only thing I would improve is the shower, is hard to not spread the water on the bathroom floor while taking a shower 😰, and I saw a few bugs around the bathroom drain 😬 That will need some attention. Otherwise than that, very nice for a few nights

It must have ticked all the boxes to get an official four star rating, but it fell short of my expectations of a four star hotel. The bedrooms and (especially) the bath (sorry, shower) rooms were too small for comfort, the shower rooms and the bedrooms lack convenient shelving/cupboard space and the beds and bed linen were adequate but not four star standard. Yes, it was clean, well managed and inexpensive, but it did not campare with (for exampkle) a Holiday Inn or other four star chain.

A great choice for a family of 4. Spacious, comfortable and well located just a short distance from metro stop and loads of great restaurants. My new 1st choice when in Sofia.

Couple of problems on arrival but staff very helpful and issues quickly resolved, close to central Sofia and shopping facilities, restaurants but a lot of roadworks happening in area making walking somewhat difficult. Many historical sights only a short walk away from hotel.

Bad Western Art Plaza Hotel Sofia
The Art Plaza Hotel is very old and needs a major overhaul. The furniture is old, the upholstery is dirty. There is mold in the bathroom. Breakfast is monotonous: scrambled eggs, cheeses, bread, 3 types of juices, coffee and tea.

To start with , the location of the hotel was perfect, only a few meters from the main shopping / cafes and bars. The day time reception staff were Ok. there was a young reception lady who usually smile, which was nice. others were helpful but so miserable. Night time staff , were absolutely useless, they were more interested looking at their mobile phone rather anything else. The breakfast Staff were one of the glummest I have ever seen. That was about the staff. The breakfast was way below the standard quality -plenty of rubbish variety but low on quality. The decor and furniture of the hotel ( reception Breakfast room & guest rooms ) looked very dated, dark and tired. the bedroom was ok but again dark and dated. my biggest disappointment was the inconsistency of the room cleaning and maintenance. I have stayed in this hotel for 5 days , every day I get either different supply of toiletry or tea / coffee. sometime even they miss to supply. How difficult is to have a stranded routine check ? you tell me. One other thing about the room, the safe . - so complicated instruction < i ended up locking out twice until I gave up on it. For a famous hotel chain like Best Western , it is a total disappointment. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone? I don't think so.Sorry Best Western - you need to work much harder for your money.

When we arrived closed to midnight, the staff checked us in very quickly. The requested cot and crib for our kids had already been set up in the room with bedding and all so everyone was able to fall asleep almost immediately. Really appreciative of that!
