Stayed for a couple of nights to visit family not seen for a couple of years. Rooms are clean and spacious, the food in the bar and restaurant are better than expected with great service. The breakfast is a little limited unless you want to pay the added £7:50 for the cooked breakfast. There is lots of parking and it very easy to find, if we cant stay with family on our next visit we would stay again.

Weekend with friends for 50th birthday. Nice comfy room. I liked the kettle in the room. Good bar atmosphere and GORGEOUS breakfast. Good, easy online check in & quick contactless checkout

Great breakfast and food in restaurant absolutely delicious. Large room and good ensuite. Many young staff all obliging Wifi not available in the evening/early morning. Confusion over room service, we asked for our room to be serviced but only happened after 1st night. Bed comfy but pillows hard. Creaky wardrobe. Beware of the pot holes in the lane. No major problems but lots of little niggles and a bit of tlc needed. Would stay again

A hidden treasure
What a charming place, attentive service but not intrusive Clean room, evening meal good value Fresh cooked breakfast Whole staff friendly, i was on business but will take my wife back next time. Close to so many attractions.

Lovely staff and good food
Very mixed feelings about staying and I feel to be fair. The staff, breakfast and cleanliness were good. Sometimes whilst travelling this can be the most important. For me, I love quality. With a few upgrades, painting over cup stain marks in the room etc would really upgrade the hotel. Small things that could make a big difference and show that the owners care about their clients. Overall a pleasant stay and staff were lovely. The room was really clean also, a huge bonus. Sharon

Brilliant place! Such a find. Rooms are good and looks like recently modernised, the welcome by Martin was so lovely, food is sensational the chef has a Rosette! We will definately be back!

Just Fine for an Overnight Stay
Staff were friendly, room fine, obviously more difficult for staff working under Covid rules but they were overall efficient. I thought I'd mad a mistake getting to the hotel as it took me through a newish housing estate then up a track but sat-nav was spot on.

We stayed for one night which was a stopover on our journey. We had a standard room, which I believe is the most basic. The breakfast was good, the room was a decent size and the wifi was fine. The room itself needed a bit of tlc. Some fixtures had been moved or removed and some filling done, but

Not bad, good value for money.
Average, but fine. Room was a bit dated and the whole place felt like it needed a bit of a spruce up, but it was good value for money. Comfortable, decent food (although a medium steak shouldn’t be quite so well-done), and all-in-all a good place.

The hotel is in a secluded area in the middle of fields, so very quiet. The room was homely with a sofa for watching TV. The dinner was excellent where we has bream and king prawn linguini. Breakfast was equally special and a cut above the large chains. Finally and equally important, all pandemic precautions were well implemented. We were there the hottest August day for a decade, so it was a little hot during the night, but we shouldn’t complain about that should we!

Very friendly staff, clean and tidy room, tasty food, bed was comfy but very soft, however, the pillows are huge and very firm, it resulted in me sleeping in a U shape as my back would lower into the bed, my legs would stay higher up and my head was being forced up by the pillow despite only using one of the four provided. Overall, I would recommend it, it's clean, good food, desk to work on, staff are excellent, it's just the bed.

Character and comfortable 2 night break
The staff were delightful. The lounge and bar area had loads of character. As there were few guests staying whilst we were there we did feel a bit lonely in the breakfast room. Our bedroom was roomy and had a 4-poster which was very comfortable. The en-suite was large with a full size bath and an excellent shower over it. We would definitely return but probably in the Spring so we could enjoy touring round the beautiful countryside again.

Lovely hotel in quiet location
Nice little hotel in quiet lovely location. Comfortable beds and soft bedding. Great bathroom. Helpful friendly staff. Great cocktails at the bar! A good place to stop en roure to Cornwall. Breakast was good. Lots of choices. Only gripe - bacon was totally inedible. Decor could perhaps do with a bit of updating. These are just minor things and I'd certainly stay again .
