Disappointing stay :(

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Luis, the guy that helped serve breakfast. Very personable, helpful and considerate of the guests needs.
Cons: Take lessons from Pirates Landing Restaurant on Port Isabelle about how to treat guests. Advance reservations get first priority on room assignments.
Location: South Padre Island. Beach access, Schlitterbahn, shopping, Wildlife exhibits
Made advance reservation. Arrived about 30 minutes before check-in time, rather than confirming our room assignment, which should have been done, I was told that we would have to wait, perhaps visit the pool or go to the beach. We came back in 45 minutes, had to stand in line for 30 min to be assigned a room. Then found that we had been given a handicap accessible room that did not have a bathtub. My granddaughter and I preferred a bathtub to an open shower that was nearly impossible to bathe in without flooding the entire bathroom. We were thoroughly exhausted from having traveled 14 hours. It was decided, tonight we rest, tomorrow we ask for a new room assignment. The next morning I went to the desk to request a room with a bathtub. I was asked if I had requested the handicap facilities... really? No, I had not. I was told that we would have to come back after checkout time. They would call our room. We stayed in hoping for the call that did not come (didn't get to the beach that first morning). I went to the front desk at 11:30am, again was told there was nothing. Maybe tomorrow. At 9am the next day asked again, got the same answer. Heard nothing that day either. Stayed 5 nights, never got a room with bathtub. Also, our room was cleaned on the second day but not on the third, had to ask for it to be cleaned on the 4th day, did not leave any bath towels or wash clothes. Got a bath mat and 6 hand towels. Had to ask for both. Overall a disappointing stay... :(

Nice place to stay at a lower cost. Beach access.

Pros: Liked the location
Cons: Provide soap and wash towels.
Location: Enjoyed the beach and shops close by.
There was no soap or wash cloth in the room. The rooms were large and the ceiling fan helped.

Hairy situation.

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Never again. Found hair in the sheets. Asked for clean bedding, got the same bedding with sand in between the sheets. Oh- no language barrier, I speak Spanish. They simply just don't care. Everyone was very nice and polite, and they could all care less about how clean your bedding is.

Good hotel in the center of everything!

Pros: The prompt, friendly staff. The beds were soft & comfy, and there is a cool outdoor pool.
Cons: Just the HBO. Ours never seemed to work right, but no biggie.
Location: You can fish, swim, see the turtles and birds, all close by.
We stayed 4 nights at Travelodge and would love to return. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Louis! We had beaches in one direction, and stores, restaurants and more beaches in the other direction.

Good for the value

Room was a good size. Pool too small. Breakfast times not long enough. Rr smelled like urine. Bathtub didn't drain. Great beach access.
