Great location, very friendly and helpful staffs.

We went to visit Amherst College and find this hotel to be better than expected. Room is quiet and comfortable. Staffs are very friendly and go out of their way to say hello and assist us with laundry. Location is great for anyone who needs to move kids in to college with Wal-Mart and Bed Bath and Beyond next to it.

Close to university. But not worth what we paid. Hotel ice makers, broken. Room was small.

Awful

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Upon checking in, the hotel desk person did not even welcome us and just stood there not saying a word until we asked to check-in. What else would we be doing rolling in with our luggage? Although the room was non-smoking, it reeked of smoke and we had to go to the store to purchase room spray. The beds were horrible. Lumpy, springy and made loud noises when you sat on it or rolled over. Complete disappointment all around.

Convenient and Reasonable

Cons: I would ask housekeeping: please turn alarm clocks OFF after rooms are vacated.
Location: Take a ride along Rocky Hill Road to skip the traffic and see the surviving tobacco barns.
Fine basic lodging; OK breakfast; convenient to the five colleges.

Location

Pros: When I entered, I was greeted and checked in by a fellow Bruins fan.
Cons: The bed could be a little firmer. Perhaps some boards could be kept on site.
Location: A shopping center is nearby. And even though I was not feeling well, it was a short walk over to the bookstore and then the grocery..
This was the first time I stayed at the Hadley Econo Lodge for quite a while. It was chosen for convenience. I had some business to transact at UMass Amherst, and the location was perfect.

Somewhat below expectations

Posted May 4, 2014
Pros: very convenient to the university and local shopping.
Cons: Improve the linens and small details of the room.
Location: Easy access to local shopping and university
Several things just made the room uncomfortable, and therefore sleep was interrupted. The linens were cheap, worn, not cotton, and not comfortable. The pillows were almost useless. There was a small refrigerator in the room that made a clunk noise when the compressor started and stopped, which it did about every 20 minutes. The bulb was out in the bedside lamp. And the ventilation was difficult to operate. The tv was small by today's standards (although this may be because they gave me a wheelchair accessible room). Breakfast was dismal but there is a Dunkin Donuts next door and a Panera in easy walking distance.

Conveniently located near UMass and Northampton

We like this hotel because it is affordable and very clean. In front of a great mall with major stores. Tons of restaurants. Dunkin Donuts and fabulous wine shop next door.
