We stayed for our anniversary and the property could not have been better! Our room was amazing, we stayed in the Veranda Suite and the woman in charge was a doll! We had a great breakfast the next morning, everything was so neat! The history of the mansion was so cool and I can’t wait to go back! I would highly recommend anyone traveling to stay here.

The mansion is unique and has period specific decoration. The rooms are spacious and vintage. Myra was very helpful, kind, & knowledgeable of the property. Definitely a unique experience worth trying!

Never stayed at a B&B before but this place was the cutest. Bed was comfy, never heard or saw another person after the front desk receptionist, Myra, left for the evening. Myra was absolutely lovely as well! The only thing I found disappointing was there was no tub in the bathroom like the photos advertised. Overall the experience was lovely and would stay again if we’re ever back this way :)

As we explained this is our handicap suite and the claw foot tub was really a challenge so we have installed a walk in shower. Thanks for staying with us.

This is a hidden gem in Springfield. Would recommend anyone stay here. The staff is amazong and the Mansion is beautiful. Close to dinning and entertainment. Right down the road from Bass Pro. Love this place.

Great weekend, awesome stay at the Mansion. Beautiful rooms with antique vintage furniture and history. Loved this place.

Never again
Looked a lot more interesting online. In person, it is a very old building somewhat in disrepair or neglect. Neat history, but poorly maintained. Would not stay here again. Peeling wallpaper, dirty windows, half used shampoo bottles, etc. Just not a great experience. Breakfast okay if you can make the 1/2 hour when it is served and the coffee is pure Folgers!

The property is so unique and has such rich history. Rooms are huge and decorated differently. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly and informative. I highly recommend everyone to give the Mansion at Elfindale a stay!

It was so beautiful and unique. I loved staying here. The lady at the front desk was so kind and even gave us a brief tour and a little history about the house, and even walked us up the stairs to our room. It was so cool. Never been given that level of customer service at a hotel before. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and stay here in future visits.

The coolest old mansion. You feel like you are in the early 1900s but with the amenities you’d expect from an overnight stay today. Great history included. Highly recommend for something different from the same old any-town-USA chain hotel experience!

This will be our go to place in Springfield.
Don't make you stay in Springfield another "cookie cutter" experience in one of the chain establishment. Make your overnight stay an experience at the Mansion. My wife and I spent two night while visiting the WOW aquarium and the Bass Pro Shop, just down the street. Of course we stayed on week nights, but the quiet was deafening. We didn't hear a sound all night, none of the normal motel/hotel issues. We can't express our positive attitude toward the Mansion and will stay there on future visits. I also want to mention that my wife has mobility issues and has started using a wheelchair for extended trips. If you need the same convenience, please check early. They have a new ramp on the south entrance and one accessible suite with a shower on the main floor, the Governor Suite.

This property is a step back in time! Each room had a sleeping area, a sitting area & its own bathroom. The common areas were also gorgeous. Myra is a gem. This is a comfortable convenient retreat to launch day trips from, if you're anywhere near Springfield.

We were welcomed by Myra, very friendly and full of information regarding the history of the mansion. But we were informed after check in that there is no breakfast during the week, hence the lesser room rate. She said that this information was on their own website, but not on Expedia or some of the others. She was correct about the other websites, but that particular fact was also NOT on their website either. Honestly, it wouldn't have made a difference in my wanting to stay there, but it takes something out of Bed and Breakfast if there is no breakfast. I don't feel like I can rate my stay as it was not complete. When we moved a chair to a more convenient location for viewing the TV the floor was filthy behind it. I really was not impressed with the housekeeping. Maybe someday in the future we would try it again, but we have enjoyed our says at other B&B's better.

We really enjoyed the peaceful and friendly atmosphere of the Elfindale. The rooms were very spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was great. The service was fantastic. We will be staying here anytime we find ourselves in Springfield!

I particularly enjoyed the uniqueness and history. I knew it was listed as a bed and breakfast. I spent the night on a Thursday and learned they only offer breakfast on the weekends but enjoyed my stay none the less.

Infested with giant wasps and not great condition
This place looked gorgeous when i booked it and the lady working there was very kind but thats where the positives end. Do not stay here. Not only was there no air conditioning but it was infested with gigantic wasps. There were wasps in every room i explored, because they encouraged looking around and when i found multiple wasps nests in my own room i had enough and left a hotel for the first time ever during a stay. It felt dirty, the decorative pillows all had stains on them. You're also completely alone the whole night in this place as a guest, with no overnight workers or security of any sort, which doesnt make me feel safe as a traveler. Just save yourself the time and money and skip this one. Worst hotel experience I've quite literally ever had and i had a terrible gut feeling about staying there the whole time from checking in until i left.

Bait and Switch
Overall….not bad…but not sure would stay again. #1: the room I reserved was not the room we were given…because “the ppl who stayed last night in the room you reserved decided to stay another night” … ok… if you decide to stay another night in that small of a venue you should be prepared to move and the hotel staff should accommodate those who ALSO reserved the room…. Potentially BEFORE the Friday nighters booked!
