Cool joint.
A bit out of the way, and somewhat difficult to find; but very interesting place. Use the sink before the shower. Bathroom and Shower floor are the same, so water doesn't stay in the shower "enclosure" and seeps out to the sink area.

2nd time as good as the first
Our second visit to this studio hotel building. Hotel is located in quiet residential suburb of Solna, a short distance from downtown. 15 minute walk to the metro. Check in was convenient using passcodes received by email prior to our arrival. This was our second stay at Asplund and once again a wonderful experience. Our room was clean. Kitchen facilities were perfect for our short stay. Bathroom was clean and shower was really nice. Parking was right outside the front door and it was free. Breakfast was excellent and staff was helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the local restaurant options around the neighborhood, especially the sushi at Sushi Bar Taiyoo. Laundry facilities are available. We enjoy the extra room and convenience of a kitchen and sitting area all at a very reasonable price. So long as you do not need room service and wake up calls this is a great choice. Local restaurants require a little walking or the use of a car, but the adjoining park and the gym in the basement add up to a very comfortable stay. Would return again, actually we have!

Stockholm apartment hotel
If you are looking for a quiet, pleasant studio in Stockholm this is perfect. Parking is super convenient and free. Checkin is via passcode to the building and then to your room. Building is located in suburban residential community with a comfortable 10 minute walk to the metro station and another 10 minutes to downtown. The building itself is a former research facility from the 30's that has been nicely updated, but still retains interesting elements from it's former use. The elevator was difficult to understand, but the staff was very helpful. Free laundry requires a little scheduling as the building is primarily used by multi week renters. Breakfast was enjoyable and quite adequate. There is a gym in the basement. Bed and bath were clean and very comfortable. Overall an awesome stay in Stockholm.

Glad I gave this a try...
Although on arrival my initial confidence in this choice of place to stay was mildly shaken when I found the previous guest’s stubble in the sink and unfortunately a less than sparking toilet, the check in procedure was very straightforward, the flat was amazingly peaceful and the building architecture and history fascinating.

Bare bones
The way this hotel operates is basically hands off. The rooms are nice but not anything special. You are on your own. No cleaning services, no fresh towels, on one in the office at the hotel. The restaurant is sporadically open although I have been told it is very good. In my room the microwave didn't work and lighting control is touch if one wants to sleep and the other wants to watch tv. You are expected to empty the trash and wash the dishes upon leaving or face a fee. The only reason I stay there is that it is extremely close to my daughters home.

Pleasant apartment in Stockholm
We enjoyed our stay at Asplund. Access arrangements to the block and room were clear and straightforward to follow. It was a couple of minutes’ walk to the metro station - and then from there only a couple of stops to the centre of town. There are a few convenience stores nearby for supplies and basic essentials – as well as a nice few restaurants. The breakfast in the restaurant were lovely. Had great communications with the staff there during our stay. The room was nice, clean, minimalist but also catered for all our needs and had everything as advertised. The block was very quiet, the communal washing facilities were very easy to use, and the coffee machine in the lobby area was a nice touch.

Lovely apartment in an interesting building. It’s a little way out of town but less than a10 min walk to tram and only a few stops to the centre of Stockholm There’s are few shops and restaurants around but we didn’t try any of them preferring instead to use the apartments well appointed kitchen

Unusual place - was the National Bacteriological Laboratory - they seemed to have cleaned it since. No obvious staff - you let yourself in with a pin code. Single room/studio apartment is small but clean and contains everything you need from hair drier to microwave. Location not great - in Solna but about 40 minutes walk from the Friend Stadium and Telia offices.

Good but....
Everything was perfect except that we paid for a breakfast and there was no breakfast at the weekend . Very disappointing .Next time do not offer breakfast if u can't provide.

Nice hotel a little far from everything
We stayed for 4 nights starting from Wednesday the 23rd. and we were supposed to have reserved a room with breakfast included. Thursday mornig we couldn´t get up on time because we were to tyred, Friday we had an outstanding breakfast and Saturday as we arrived to the breakfast room, it was closet. At that moment we realised that there is no breakfast on Saturday and Sundays. When I made the reservation I never read anywhere that breakfast included was only from Monday to friday. If I had known that before I would never have booked that hotel because breakfast included I one of the things I always look for in hotels. Also the problem is that this hotel is far from everything and you have to walk a lot even to buy bread or take the Metro. The moment when we could talk with somebody from the hotel they checked our reservation and confirmed us that they charched us only to days of breakfast.

Although they advertise no reception services, which is fair enough, there were still people working there that were courteously able and willing to help. It is a bit difficult to get to and from if you have no car, in terms of walking to public transport, as it is out in the burbs. However the room (studio) for one was clean and well appointed, light and airy with high celings (designed by Gunnar for chemical experiments as they were back in the day). The lift being under repair was also a pest if you are up 2 floors, but the groceries you just lugged up can be prepared into a good meal, to avoid the outrageous Swedish prices for everything (including the groceries), in the kitchenette. It has a certain Swedish grace but was reasonably priced, as a result of the drawbacks noted earlier no doubt.

Nice apartment, well designed and equipped Only 15 minutes from central Stockholm by car Great laundry facilities which was a bonus We had breakfast in our flat so can't rate the restaurant One downside was our flat was right over the restaurant loading area and Monday morning deliveries started at 5am which was extremrly loud even with ear plugs, ask for a unit on the other side

Good comfort but far away from public transport
The studio I stayed in was comfortable and I had everything I needed. The downside of this stay was the distance to walk down a very slippery road to the nearest bus stop or tube station. I had the bad luck to end up here during some very bad winter weather. I think the staff should have taken care of the ground better at least outside the hotel entrance. I feel lucky not breaking some bones because of the slippery conditions. I also feel it was very dark outside the entrance. Some more lights would be good. This place has no hotel reception or staff on site regularly, which can be a disadvantage. Some staff were in though now and then but the odd thing is you were never greeted with a hello, which I find a bit odd. I loved my room and everything in it, but personally I don't think I will go back. It felt a bit isolated which is a shame. I also prefer staff on site.

The Asplund is an excellent hotel. Extremely comfortable. Well equipped kitchenette,and modern bathroom with fantastic shower. It is located in a very quiet area. The only suggestion I would make for improvement would be to provide directions from the metro station to the hotel.

The building was really interestingly decorated. I only had two small issues but they are minor. 1. The room was on the ground floor with parking spaces in front of the windows. People were chatting and slamming car doors right outside late at night. 2. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped, it would be great if there was salt and pepper as standard in these places also It was missing some basic kitchen wares like baking tray, just to make it easier to cook a meal. Overall though the room was comfy and it had a great shower. Thing to note; if you don't get the room info a couple of days before your stay check your junk mail.

Be prepare, that your room will be cleaned ONCE a week, if you stay more than a week. If less, forget about sleaning service. No replacement of shampoo, conditioner,soap, towels etc. if you stay less then a week as well.No tea, coffee bags. This hotel is for students. It was my big mistake to order this hotel. I have to reserve hotel which cost $10-$15 more and have a full service

If travelling as a couple best to book the larger studio room (or bigger) as the smallest room is for a single traveller and the beds are smaller. Staff were great in helping us overcomes this by providing extra towels, bedding, etc.

Great apartments in old research building
Appartments were clean and had all the necessary equipment to cook meals. Breakfast in the restaurant was good and the building still maintained it's identity as a research centre. Only downside was no bar/evening restaurant!

Nice hotel for longer stay in Stockholm
Room was very clean and spacious (one bedroom apartment). Bathroom is nice as well as kitchenette. Cleaning is ones per week but that is fine. Breakfast is ok with excellent espresso machine for a hotel. Only negative point would be that is not very near metro. All in all good alternative to hotel room if staying more than 2-3 days.

Comfortable hotel, but un-manned, and isolated.
The hotel itself was fine, with a pleasant room and interesting artworks in the lobbies. I didn't feel comfortable because it is un-manned. I prefer the old-fashioned option of having a receptionist to help me with my enquiries. And the hotel is quite isolated from any facilities: 15 minute walk from a metro and a few shops. It suits business travellers with a car, rather than tourists without. I think the laundry arrangements could be improved. There are two washers and two driers, but the whole laundry can only be booked by one person in three hour time slots.

The apartment was very comfortable for our 4 night stay in Stockholm. Clean, quiet and fully furnished. Big comfortable bed (many beds in Stockholm a small compared to US standards). 2 wall mounted TVs. Plenty of storage space for coats and clothes. A nice desk to work from. Adequate free Internet and a comfy couch and dinette table for 3. The kitchenette was perfect for cooking our own breakfast and even a dinner or too. Great way to save $$ because restaurants are expensive in Sweden, while the grocery store was not. The induction cooktop was great. never used one before. Loved it. it was fast and way better than our electric stove back home. The connected restaurant was nice for breakfast and looked good for dinner, but we didn't try it. Very nice staff. Only downside was the 10 minute walk to the t-banna. A bit too far to make it convenient to "just come home for a break".. so once we were out, we were basically out for the day. The only downside.

PERFECT place to stay!
Asplund Apartments is a great place to stay! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! I'm a woman, and travelled by myself and felt very safe. The hotel/apartment doesn't have a reception, but I was able to have all my questions answered by Ana quickly and easily. It's situated in a lovely, quiet residential neighbourhood - 10 minutes walk to Västra Skogan metro station with a 10 minute ride into the centre of Stockholm. The hotel and room itself were very clean and comfortable, beautifully designed and with all the amenities. Having a kitchenette made making breakfasts and dinners really easy - 2 grocery stores are within 10 minutes walking distance. Don't hesitate to book here! Unless you really want to be in the centre of the city.

Great for a short stay in Stockholm
Stayed at the Asplund for a week during the Eurovision Song Contest in May. The location was surprising - in a very tranquil park setting which was nice to return to at the end of a busy day/night. The room was very modern, warm and comfortable. There was a full kitchen setup in the room with modern appliances and the bathroom was very clean with a powerful shower, I had a single bed room, but the bed was still very comfortable and slept very well. The included WiFi ran well for the duration of the stay, and TV selection good for those of us non-Swedish speakers. The breakfast offering was good - mostly continental selection, but they also ask if you if you'd like bacon & eggs which is brought out to you. There's also a good coffee machine. The only slight issue was no breakfast on the weekends (there's brunch on Saturdays from midday), so I brought some supplies from the supermarket at Västra skogen underground station (10 minutes walk away) to cover the weekend. I did however find a filled roll and some drinks in my fridge on the weekend, days so the staff still had us in mind! Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant at night, but the menu looked good. To get to the hotel at the start/end of the trip, I taxied from Solna main line station (about 5 mins drive away) which connects directly to Arlanda airport. For daily travel, used the underground at Västra skogen which is an easy 10 min walk from the Asplund. Overall good choice and can recommend.

Great apartments. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only about 10 mins walk from Solna Central station which was handy for the 15/20 minute journey into ththe centre of Stockholm. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was very lovely, cool environment, just on your own world. The only thing we missed in the hotel is swimming-pool. Is a great place, i love it.
