The hotel staff were friendly, the room was fabulously spacious and comfortable. Great location within easy walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Disabled access was a little awkward as the entrance was along a long windy corridor with some tight turns but it didn't detract from the overall experience. Breakfast was superb. We loved it. The gym could do with a revamp as it is a little tired and the machines are old.

Excellent hotel!
The receptionist that greeted us was really genuinely pleased to welcome us. The hotel is quirky in a very nice way. The room was comfortable and clean. Good bathroom. We had dinner at the hotel and it was also superb and service excellent. The only thing I can make a small remark at was the breakfast as the area is rather small and it was a bit of a chaos since everyone came at the same time. The choice of food at the breakfast was, however, very good.

Good breakfast, nice trooms and gym.
I love this hotell, we always stay here when going home to visit my family. The rooms have been on the smaller side, but very nice and clean. Always kind and helpful personnel. The gym is great for both cardio and lifting some weights. Lovely breakfast. I keep booking this hotel whenever I go to Sundsvall.

Nice Place
Really nice "non corporate" individual hotel with a quirky layout. Very comfortable, well appointed, well cared for place in a good location, an easy stroll into the centre and very handy for restaurants etc. I have no problem recommending the Baltic and would happily stay again

Great value, terrific gym and clearly above average breakfast. The room was also nice and the older style of the building blended nicely with the modern amenities, however the completely black hallways were a bit strange. The only real downside was the bathroom where the shower door didn't help much to keep the water from going all over the floor and the drainage of the basin was super slow. Also the soap hadn't been refilled for some time. However all in all it was a really nice stay and i would gladly recommend it to others.

Average hotel in the centre of town
Central location and overall pleasant. Room was comfortable but lacks any charm. Sterile environment with no decorative touch not even one painting hanging on the wall. The full garbage in the bathroom from previous guest is totally unacceptable in today's Corona time!

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't completely satisfied with your rooms. As you might imagine, that's not what you nor we want. I'm afraid all of our rooms tend to be a Little smaller than average due to the old architecture that we've tried our best to preserve and we understand that's not to everyones taste. As for the smell, I genuinely don't know what you might have smelled, but we'll look into it! I do hope you'll give us Another chance in the future so that we can show that a less than good experience was the exception and not the rule.

Doesn't feel like 4 stars hotel
I booked a single room. It's on the ground floor, tiny !!!!!! It has no windows and eventhough curtains are promised and in the pictures it shows a curtain which indicates a window, part of the cieling was glass which let the light goes in in the morning. Far far from feeling you are in a 4 stars hotel.

We have several different room categories, and the room your described belong to our economy room category. They are, as you said, our smallest rooms and they all have ceiling windows. They aren't perfect, but they are a great options for guests on a budget. I do hope you'll give us Another chance in the future though!

I had a very nice corner room with great views. Breakfast was excellent. Quick walk to the rail station and to anywhere in the city center.

A pleasant surprise
Great location in Sundsvall. The restaurant at the hotel was surprisingly good. The layout of the room maybe a bit strange, but in summary this was a pleasant surprise.

Our restaurant is good, and did actually take home several awards this past weekend, so you're not the only one that thinks so. As for the layout I can only agree with you. It's an older building from the turn of the Century and a lot of the architecture from that time has been saved. Couple that with some modern additions and you have a hotel where every room is unique. Thank you for your stay with us and I hope we'll get to see you again in the future.

Nice and friendly hotel
Really conveniently located to the city centre and bus station, with nice views to the harbour. The hotel is cosy and has character and the library is a nice calm area for reading or working.

Very poor intermittent wifi in room 602, but apart from that all ok.

Thankfully we're aware of that problem and we're working with our IT support to fix it! It's the wifi repeater in that area of the house that has a sneaky tendency to go down when it's most inconvenient. We're waiting on a replacement unit now so we can tear it out and fix the problem for good. That said, we're happy that the rest of the visit was good! Hopefully we'll get to see you again soon.
