Excellent location, easy access to major roads and motorway with easy parking. Rooms are clean and comfortable but decor is tired looking. Good value for money.

The member of staff behind the desk was very helpful and welcoming, the room was warm and cosy with two chairs when most hotel's only give one. Breakfast was sufficient. A good overnight stay. Will certainly stay again.

Castle Arms good location for visit to Tamworth
This hotel is well located in the centre of Tamworth and right under the historic castle. there is car parking nearby with an arrangement with the hotel. the room was clean and comfortable and the issue with the fan in the bathroom was reported to the hotel so they could do something about it. it was surprisingly quiet for location.

Unclean and dated hotel. Room was dirty door didn’t lock maggots living in room Be aware all photos on hotels.com show the larger nicest rooms no photos on here show the actual basic rooms

Although attempting to keep the style of an old castle hotel in modern times will juxtapose modernity with the inadequacies of the past, I'd hoped it would have been modernized a better. The bathroom was tacked onto the room, it had a sliding door that didn't even close. The curtain fell down and maintenance didn't fix it despite being reported on the first night, the cupboard handles fell off, the shower was outdated and didn't heat properly. Just various small issues that amounted to an inconvenienced stay.

Nothing fantastic unless you’re easily pleased
It’s quite dated no lift so if you’re on the top floor expect a lot of stairs, in our room it was tidy but no fan (it was 29c). Bed was against the wall next to the window so you could wake up to your foot out of it, also the bed was not the best you could feel the base/bars underneath. The shower was ok but went cold then hot only thing I enjoyed was the breakfast in the morning

Although the decor is a little out of date the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with snowy white bedding and towels. A very comfortable bed and a fan provided( very necessary during the high humidity at thee d of June).

The wifi was not working since day 1. I spent all my days changing from this wifi to another and restarting my phone. The reception lady told me there’s nothing she can do for me with a nice smile. Basically had to go without wifi for four days which you can imagine is not ideal for someone new to the city I put my dirty towels in the bath like the sign said, and housekeeping very nicely just folded the same old towels for me and put them back. Good luck carrying your luggage up the stairs. No help or lift is available. I ran out of tissues the first day and housekeeping just took the empty box without replacing it. Reception people are barely ever there. Don’t be late for check in or you will miss them I suggest this hotel to locals only and not for new people who would need some assistance to get around There was a mascara stain on my pillowcase There’s a kettle and iron and hair dryer in the room and THAT’s ALL. Location is great. 5 minutes walk to anywhere I wanted The day I checked in the toilet seat was visibly stained- you can imagine with what- And I had to wait a whole day til housekeeping came back to clean it.

Beautiful looking property and very comfortable room i am unsure of what was going on but during the night there was an alarm going off most of the night may have been from another building but was still a very comfortable place.

On our arrival we couldn't get in to the hotel, after ringing the doorbell a few times we rang the number given on the door, this went to voicemail. When we did get let in we were informed that there was no bar or restaurant open also the hotel was unmanned but we could call the number. The hotel was empty except for some young men, not sure if they were guests or live in staff. We had informed the hotel prior to our arrival we had a dog, we couldn't believe even though the hotel was empty we were put on the second floor right at the end of the hotel and the room was more like a single than a double as to get out of bed in the night I had to climb over my husband. Thankfully the dog didn't need to go out during the night. The window wouldn't stay open so to get some air we resorted to put a rolled up towel in it. We checked out at 7am. We were due and had booked to return the next week we have decided to go elsewhere even though we had already paid for the room.

Lovely and reasonable priced hotel. The location was good. Very clean. The only thing we didn’t like was the alarm outside going off most of the night! So didn’t sleep well.

Overall the stay was very pleasant and comfortable, the only thing that I wasn't happy with was our was outside some bollards that keep moving up and down through out the night and kept us wake "caution bollards are rising" if I was to stay again I wouldn't want to be on that side of the hotel.

In dire need of a makeover. The property is clean but so tired looking and in desperate need of a facelift. The staff are extremely pleasant but there is no restaurant per se (not that you need one there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby) and the tired net curtains on every window circa 1983 are just depressing. I stayed here 20 years ago and it was a much nicer hotel then. Worth bearing in mind that the Holloway Pay and Display car park adjacent to this hotel only has max 2 hour stay and charges apply between 8am and 6pm Mon-Sat

On arrival was told that the supervisor room was not available. Keeping in mind that i paid £80.00 in full when i booked with Hotel. Com. Was the offered a Twin Room which was £62.04. When enquire about breakfast was informed that breakfast was not been served .. The room was nice and warm . Was informed that Hotel. Com would refund my money but still waiting to hear back from them. Yes i will return to this hotel because it is central to every thing .

The constant noise from the bollards outside a very loud announcement that the bollard was moving constantly, ended up having very little sleep, the hotel should inform you of this as I wouldn’t of stayed here
