Dissapointing exterior was very impressive but it was let down by a few things bad service at the bar, breakfast was poor and decor in the Bar Cafeteria with very little seating

Service was weak. Rachel staff member told us different times/schedule of terraza’ hours. One staff member told us it would open @ 7, while the other told @ 7:15 that it would open much later. When confronted about the Information given to us before, then he looking bothered said: give me a few minutes & we will open. Waited 45 minutes, & no one ever would ask “how can we help you”. I found the staff not friendly enough. @ one time we greeted by saying hello, they didn’t even bother to acknowledge us. Cigarral del Alba is far superior

The stay started badly as we were told at booking that we could have two connecting rooms. whilst this was not possible. Apparently, the hotel had problems with the person that dealt with the booking which was no longer working for them. However, the hotel manager did the best to resolve the situation and gave us a suite and he arranged for two single beds to be put in there and the settee to be removed instead. He charged us for one room at the same price + a daily charge for only one child. I think this was more than fair. The hotel is beautiful. the views are stunning. It is a pity that the outdoor pool and bar are not organized better. The bar outside opens only in the evening, and therefore there is no pool bar. If bar was open, this pool and bar would be much more used in the afternoons.Sun beds at the pool are only a few. I think the hotel could and should improve these things. The restaurant's food was good and the restaurant has a terrace with views over the whole of Toledo.

Resort-like ambiance with an excellent restaurant and friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit outdated and need an update and maintainance. Located close to the city center if you have a car available. Too far to walk.

The hotel and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The reception was a little cold, the front desk clerk was mildly unpleasant but ultimately helped us settle in. The view are stunning beyond compare. We were highly impressed. Didn't eat on site but found a few tips for those thinking of staying here (far warning, there are no stores nearby).... Because the location is somewhat secluded, you'll have to utilize a taxi if you have no car. The fare's vary (the taxi drivers often change rates depending on time of day, day of week, or holiday) and the taxi drivers do take advantage of tourism (some start the meter at time of dispatch to the hotel, rather then when they pick you up). Overall, it was a positive experience. The vineyard located directly adjacent to the hotel property is by reservation only ... Thee is a playground on site which was an added touch for family's... The town of Toledo is incredible!

Nice hillside hotel near Toledo
Very nicely situated and spacious hillside property. Convenient huge on-site parking, nice lobby, spacious rooms. Rooms definitely need some renovation - even though it's clean, you can practically smell the place is old and hasn't been refreshed. However, considering the location and room prices, I don't regret my choice and would definitely return there some day.

Lousy location without car.
The location as described on hotels.com website was to be 3 kilometers from city center. In fact it was approximately 10 kilometers. As the hotel staff said: you don't have a car?" The bus stop was 500 meters down the road. Taxi approx. 10 Euros. Also, staff had very limited English proficiency.

Great view
Wifi was shoddy which was frustrating, but the surrounding area was gorgeous and we had a great view of the city. It felt almost luxurious because of the view. It's a pretty hotel. Besides the wifi, the other thing I was disappointed about was the bathroom. It felt very outdated for such a nice hotel.

the hotel is far away from all the tourism attractions. They have an amazing day view of the old city. The room was Horrible for a 4 star hotel (rated in the 90's) this needs a urgent renovation. My room was HOT we tried to turn off the heating system the front desk came over to help us and he was clueless about what was wrong with our room.. we slept with the window open hoping for no mosquito bites.

Hotel with View, Pool and Parking near Toledo
I was traveling by car with two 16 year old boys and wanted a triple room. The hotel was clean and welcoming. I chose it because it had free parking and a pool and was close to Toledo. The Noon to 8 pm hours for the pool were disappointing as I wanted to swim a lot, and we only were able to swim at 6, when we arrived and before heading to town, rather than after going to town, and in the morning. The staff were friendly and flexible in general, though, and the breakfast was varied and nice.

Needs Improvement
This hotel is in dire need of an update. The whole place smells like smoke because of the smoking rooms. The rooms are horrible with non functioning climate control. This hotel was maybe a 4-star hotel 20 years ago but it is surely not one now. Avoid this place until they update the accommodations.

What A View
Without a car you can get there, just take the local bus from the train station to the new hospital. The staff were wonderful with smiles that you rarely see in Catalunya. The views are worth spending several days in the hotel and walking around the city of Toledo. What a treat!

Had a little trouble finding it and the GPS didn't pick up on the name with Cigarrel in it. Went through hotel list and it came up as Hotel Domenico. Enjoyed the whole experience of staying there. The room, view and meal. Wished we had a little more time so we could have stayed longer. Slept well.

This was the third time we had stayed here, we have been very happy in the past but this time we were disappointed with the quality of service, particularly with the waiters. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the pool and outdoor dining area are lovely. The hotel is situated outside the city and although the views of the city are fantastic, it is quite a walk (about 45 mins to the city gates).

A thoroughly pleasant stay
A family stay for two nights en route from Almería to Bilbao ferry. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and will definitely return. We had 4 kids and our dog with us and the staff were all friendly.

Great views of the city
Great views over the beautiful city of Toledo. The hotel served good food at reasonable prices. Lunch on the terrace overlooking the old city was superb. Unfortunately the pool was closed and this was one of the main reasons for choosing the hotel. Overall though it was excellent value.

Beautiful Toledo
I had visited Toledo previously and decided best to stay at a hotel outside of the city in order to not fight traffic, since we had a rental car. The hotel is very well located 5 minutes from Toledo and you can get to Toledo by bus or taxi (E7.00). Any room is good at the hotel and the service is first class.

Family trip - less than expected
We booked this hotel for we were driving our own LARGE vehicle. It was a GREAT location for the free parking. It will cost between8-10 Euro to get a ride to the main square of Toledo. There is NOTHING to do at the hotel or near the hotel so you have to drive or taxi to anything. We had book a triple room with a crib and requested a balcony. We got a room on the 3rd floor facing the city, but the view was their a small window. The room was very room and temperature not controllable. We even left the windows open all night and couldn't get the room to cool down. We spoke to the staff 3-4 times requesting our heater get looked at and if we could switch rooms. The the next room was smaller, but with a balcony. Even though we said we wanted it, they wouldn't let us switch. The staff was not very helpful or friendly. It seems like we were always inconveniencing them. They seemed a bit grumpy, maybe because they had to work. The breakfast will cost you 10 Euro/person if you don't book it through your reservation. Be WARNED it is not worth 10E/person. You can get a full breakfast for under 5E downtown Toledo! BUT if you get a good deal with it within your reservation at least you can get a quick bite to eat.

Good standard Spanish hotel in quiet location.
Everything was good. Unfortunately, it lacks a more flexible time for meals. Like many Spanish hotels, the restaurant in the evening does not open until 8.30pm, hence you are not eating until 9.15pm approx. Whilst we were present in the hotel, several occupants were from international countries who were wanting their evening meal earlier.

Stunning setting, OK hotel
Its stunning views of Toledo make this unforgettable. Ask for a city view room. The terrace restaurant is a wasted asset - a magical setting , with uninspired cooking. Also only used in the evening. The breakfast is fine (unless you insist on full English everywhere you go) served in the drab cafe/ bar. Rooms are comfortable and clean, though not luxurious. The pool is OK, though at times ( weekends etc) jammed full. Other than a soft drink machine, there is no bar and no refreshments are offered in the pool area. Basically, fairly functional. in hot weather, don't even think of walking from the hotel into town.

This was the second time that we have stayed at the hotel, and the room we had was very much inferior to our first visit. The air on was not working, and as the maintenance man knocked off at 6 we were expected just to put up with it. The overall impression was that they could do with more staff.

Fantastic hotel with incredible views of Toledo. Particularly enjoyable from the terrace whilst having dinner - which was also fabulous and with great service too. Pool was also great, but a shame it opened at midday rather than any earlier.

Beautiful location and helpful staff. It would be advisable to know more Spaniish to communicate with staff. The hotel beds were small ( double room had 2 small twin beds) and uncomfortable. The walls were thins and provided little privacy.

Hotel is just a bit old fashioned inside (reception/restaurant) but staff is helpful and rooms are clean and spacious. View on Toledo is exceptional, swimming pool size is 16/8meters. Hotel is Just 5min-8€ from city center by taxi.

This hotel was so inexpensive that I wasn't sure that I had done the right thing in booking. Big surprise! Very good value for money! Large spacious room with beautiful view of Toledo yet only a short ride from attractions. Furniture basic but serviceable for short stay. Good sized bathroom and shower.

Beautiful hotel, direction to well signposted, however it did feel you were travelling into the back of beyond., however when we arrived the view was spectacular. Our room looked over the city. We had breakfast and it was very good large selection of dishes. There is free Wifi always a plus.. There was a local bus service which took you into town, the stop being a few 100 Mts away. Well worth using as parking in the city is not easy
