Tomah JP’s Gone Wild Pool
We were happy that the owner continued to plow the driveway during the huge snowstorm. We had to be out on the road by 7:30 AM on Saturday and the plow guy got us done early. Beds were very comfortable. The unit has definitely seen some ware. Kitchen island face is coming apart. One of the fallout of a sleepers when in couch form Is very broken down to the point where you sink into the couch. The table and chairs are very rickety. The hot tub was so nice on these cold days! Thank you for a great stay we will be back.

Family reunion
Great location for a large group. There are 4 cabins available on this property. Our group rented Serenity, Haven, & Paradise. I stayed in the Paradise cabin which has the best view of the lake. Some nearby places to go/things to do that I recommend: St. Mary's Distillery in Cashton, Titanic Canoe Rental in Ontario, Murray's on Main for dinner in Tomah. The cabin was comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Molter's grocery store is less than 10 min away.

Only 4 Spoons, No Sundries, and many Mice
It's hard to tell from the VRBO listing, but this property requires you bring some of what I would consider "expected sundry items", including dish towels, dish rags, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, miscellaneous spices, etc. These aren't critical things, but they are relatively standard at many of the rentals I've stayed at before. The VRBO listing doesn't do a good job of making this clear, but the property owner is quick to draw this to your attention so you can cancel if you want (kudos to the property owner for being prompt with this communication as well). What is annoying is that the home only has 4 spoons though it sleeps 12... so bring spoons if you do book this property. The lack of stars and the lack of a recommendation really come down to the cleanliness of the home. When we arrived, we noticed a few mice droppings throughout; mainly in corners and under things like the microwave. Looking at prior reviews, we noticed others had mentioned mice, but hoped the property owner was aware of the problem and addressing it. Much to our dismay, after the first night at the house, we had some food raided by mice and found mouse droppings all throughout the kitchen area. I gave the property owner a call and while he was understanding, he did not make any concessions to compensate us for the compromised food nor did he indicate any effort would be made to address the rodent issue. I understand the house is in the country, but there are things you can do to knock down and outright eliminate rodent problems. I know because I have had mice in my home and I also live next to acres upon acres of corn fields so it's not an impossible task. We ended up getting a few mouse traps and caught a couple of mice over the next two nights. A few things to know, the internet is what is available in the country, so don't expect to stream movies, but it's more than sufficient to check emails from time-to-time. The property is actually on a beautiful private lake, the property manager is actually a very nice person as is the property owner. I actually feel somewhat bad for leaving a poor review, but there is a minimum standard of effort to maintain a clean property I expect. I can understand if there's a newly discovered rodent problem, but the complete apathy toward the known rodent situation from the property owner is the reason I can't recommend this rental to others.

Quiet and Secluded Location
This was a perfect location for our bike ride on the Elroy-Sparta trail! The cabin had everything that we needed and it was very peaceful to be able to have a campfire near the lake!

Good Location but Needs Updating
This was a nice location and had no issues other than with cleanliness. I think what happens is the place is cleaned to some degree after a stay but is then left in that state until the next guests arrive. There is a mouse problem that needs to be looked at as the bedding had holes and tears that would indicate mice. Also, found some baby mice within the bed and mice poop within the bathtub. It’s honestly a nice place to stay at but since it’s so far in the country it needs to be double checked before a stay if there’s a gap in bookings. Overall, I would still recommend.

Nice Getaway
It was a nice getaway cabin in the woods. Served its purpose and hot tub was a great amenity to have. Our biggest issue was the cleanliness of the house and the ants. Bathrooms were not very clean, bathroom rugs were disgusting and there was dirt on the walls, baseboards and corners. Large black ants infested the kitchen, all over the counters.

Lovely place to stay.
It’s a great place to stay if you’re just looking for a getaway and plan on staying in majority of your stay. Me and my friends enjoyed ourselves and even found cute pictures to paint and hung them up on the fireplace! we plan to make this a yearly trip to visit our pictures and add the date every year! just wasn’t much to do near by!

Great place
We had lots of fun in this adorable cabin! The only thing I would say is that it would be nice to note that the only staircase is a narrow, winding one. We had one group member who could not navigate the stairs. We had her sleep downstairs, so the problem was solved, but if more of us had struggled it could have been an issue.

Beautiful winter views
Overall we had a wonderful stay with 2 families here. Beautiful winter views, hiking, ice fishing and camp fires! Our biggest disappointment was the hot tub. When we initially opened it, there was a slight odor, and we did not go in it the first day, just let the jets run and see if it would get better, it did. The next day we used the hot tub, still a slight odor. The following day we tried to use the hot tub and when we opened the cover the odor was so bad, we were not able to use the hot tub. After alerting the owners of the odor, they said an odor usually means the water needs to be changed and it would take a day to warm back up. We found this odd because there was a sign on the wall stating the water is changed and disinfected after each stay, considering we used it 1 day. The other thing we didn’t realize when we booked (as stated in other reviews) was there is a spiral staircase which is not very child friendly or big/tall person friendly. Thankfully we did not need to use these often. The kitchen had almost all the necessities to cook meals, but there weren’t any regular drinking cups, consider packing some along with your TP, garbage bags etc. The peaceful environment of this home was a much needed getaway after the holidays and we really enjoyed our stay!
